The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The sidewalk sign looked nice now that Randy saw it. He still didn't know who made it each week. Apparently his employees where conspiring to keep him from finding out; bunch of punks. He simply said what he wanted at the weekly meeting and it happened. He had been worried about putting "Now Hiring" on the sign itself. He felt it would be tacky but hey, it worked pretty well.
He had posted for a bartender on several Job boards the past week and cam up with only two applicants. Not the greatest turn out. If he was lucky the direct route would have better luck. He had enough employees but the issues with the META bots had made several of them fidgety. Getting some replacements before any of them left made it a lot easier.
Taking half a step Randy ported to his office. He doubted anyone would show up for an interview. Still it was possible so he had bothered to actually dress like the owner. Black Khakis, black button down shirt, white vest. The managers uniform technically, figured it made the best impression. Settling into his desk he pulled up the expenses. The crowds would start showing up soon enough. It was better to get the paperwork done early if he still had time.
Maddy knew running looked guilty, but couldn’t help the little voice and the fast heartbeat that made her want to bolt. She had been looking for more information on the META bots, trying to keep an eye on them, figure out their real purpose. The problem with that was one of them noticed her back.
Unfortunately, she was an armed mutant acting suspicious. The damn thing was following her. She was too far from the Sanctuary to try and get back. So she put her head down, shoved her hands in her pockets, and walked.
She was so busy looking behind her, she tripped over the sign. Help Wanted, written in chalk and pointing towards a small bar. Picking up the sign, she reset it on the sidewalk, glancing around. She couldn’t see the Cop-Bot.
She dusted some chalk off her hand and looked at the sign again. Wouldn’t hurt to have a real job, and bars were hotbeds of information. She had been a bartender before, one of many odd jobs she had taken up over the years.
Madlaina slipped down the stairs, glancing both ways on the street to see if the bot was still following her. Then she pushed the door open.
Randy glanced at the security feed as the door buzzer went off. The first customer was here already. So much for getting ahead on the paperwork. With a stretch he stood and ported down to the bar floor, just to the left of the host stand. "Welcome to Looking Glass." Randy noticed her eyes almost immediately, purple tends to stand out as an eye color. She also seemed a bit nervous. First time in a bar? Possibly but she didn't look clueless so it was doubtful. "I'll need your ID for a moment, thna I can get ya anything you need."
Maddy blinked when a man suddenly appeared a few feet away, and was able to contain most of the flinch. At least that meant the place was mutant tolerant. Which was good. “Um… yes.” She reached into the inside pocket of her jacket, pulling out her id. She didn't have a driver's license, but she had her citizenship card. “I saw your sign.”
Maddy’s accent was less, but still noticeable when she spoke, especially with the stress in her voice. She was careful to keep herself still so the gun at the small of her back wouldn't show, and her nervous energy started to dissipate.
“I was a bartender in Rio, but I can do something else if you need.” She glanced around. The place looked decent enough, not too rough and not too upscale. Perfect place to blend in.
Randy looked the card over fighting off a chuckle. Here he was thinking the sign was a tacky waste of time and a potential hire walks in on the first day. Her ID looked legit. Granted he saw mostly drivers licenses but citizenship cards were fine. Madlaina... That was a name he'd need help to pronounce the first few times. Satisfied with the card he smiled and handed it back.
>> “I was a bartender in Rio, but I can do something else if you need.”
"Rio? Heard that's a fun place. As for positions I'm looking for everything, including bartenders." Rio had a decent bar scene so she should have some skills. Saves time with training. How would he need to pay her though? His mind raced though several different questions and possible answers about her potential as a worker. With a deep breath he settled them all away and motioned for her to follow him. "Alright, lets take a seat at the end of the bar here. I have a few questions and then I'll have you show me what you can do."
The man examined her card closely, which was a pretty common occurance, so Maddy didn’t think much of it. She put it away as he spoke. “Rio? Heard that's a fun place. As for positions I'm looking for everything, including bartenders.”
Rio had been fun, for a while. It was one of the places she had stayed the longest, nearly a year, and one of the few where she had really been able to relax and feel safe. Even if it ended. “Yes, it was nice there. I would recommend it.”
She nodded, following him to the end of a bar and boosting herself into a seat. This was looking like a good decision.
>> “Yes, it was nice there. I would recommend it.”
Randy slid himself into the seat. If he had been twenty years younger, or older, he might just plan for a trip to Rio. For now, business was the task at hand."Alright. First off, tell me a bit about yourself." An ice breaker. She did seem a bit nervous when she came in after all."Hobbies, where you're from, plans for the future. Things like that." Nothing to specific, just enough to get an idea of who she was. Knowing your potential employees was informant after all.
