The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Got a plot in mind?
MRO plots are player-created the Mods facilitate and organize the big ones, but we get the ideas from you. Do you have a plot in mind, and want to know whether it needs Mod approval? Check out our plot guidelines.
So, this came to mind as I was mindlessly going about my job last night. Retail. Ick.
What if*... a new, young mutant came, whose power lets them pull people into a story while they (the mutant) is dreaming? They don't really have control over it yet, and various people get put into various roles, based on this young person's imagination and impression of them. Anyone they've met or seen (read: anyone that wants to participate who can figure a way that they could have been seen).
Alice in Wonderland would make a good story basis. Just think.... Wolf as The White Rabbit. More or less himself, except white, and wearing the mandatory waistcoat with pocketwatch... Ghost is a natural for Cheshire Cat. Aura would make a lovely Queen of Hearts and Metabots nice card-soldiers. Two of our dean's clones make a nifty Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum. Other characters from other stories could even get mixed in - it is, after all, a young mutant's dream.
Those in the story need to stay alive until the creator wakes up, or they can figure out a way to wake them up. Dying in the dream world might have consequences. Then again, it might not. But they wouldn't know one way or the other.
Thoughts? Any piece of classic literature works. Heck, no reason this can't happen every so often if people enjoy it. Imagine being chased through a Dr Seuss story by the Cat in the Hat!
*Be Afraid when Claire or her writer uses that phrase.
I like this idea. Might have to start each dream-arc with a summary of the story planned, just because not everyone's read everything considered a classic to one part of the world, and excluding people for that wouldn't be fun
This idea is fun! And I would participate. Plotsssss
Oh definitely. It could start here as a sort of planning thread. I'm thinking that the mutant causing the effect will be an NPC; more of a plot device I guess you'd say.
Woot! Okay, my thoughts on the Dream rules... Ah... I'll have to think about it. How's that for temporary avoidance?
I'll ponder it as I go through my mind-bogglingly boring night job tonight, and see what that brings up. I mean, that's sorta what happened with the birth of this character.
Okay, I'll get off my butt and get something written down. Polling for story? Anything for children is likely, since the mutant doing the dreaming is a child. Beyond that... pretty open.
I really like Alice in wonderland as a story option. It really has a lot going for it. It can get really trippy. It can get really scary. It's fun!
Alternate options that come to mind for me are various Classic Disney movie stories. Cinderella, Frozen, little mermaid. Aladdin. Or maybe a good Grimm story. Even better if the classic stories aren't Disney versions. Grim.
