Why Would You Care? (Open) (Trial-Outside the Courthouse)

(This is open to anybody who wants to be part of the event or even just wants to start some chaos between the two groups present outside the courthouse)

Despite the early morning hour a crowd had already formed on the steps of the courthouse, dividing and milling about as they waited for whatever information to filter out. Two groups quickly formed, taking sides on either side of the courthouse steps. The media was there of course, flocking like buzzards to what they would hope to be an interesting case. The media wasn’t the only one covering it though. Plenty of bloggers and internet personalities were there to give their take on the trial and inform their own tiny section of followers.

For the police who were there it was an annoyance. The kid wasn’t even high profile, not a politician, or cop, or famous. Just a mutant kid who had been caught killing in public view for several people to record on their phones. Though a few cops had teased that they were grateful it wasn’t another incident of a cop getting caught on camera. Not again anyway. It may have been years ago but the riots was still a fresh enough wound to have plenty of people on edge.

There were a few bots dotted among the crowd, just the normal knights and their canine-like companions. Thankfully no glitches reported and each bot had a handler just in case. The department was beginning to see that maybe sending the bots out on their own was a bad idea. No matter how good the programming the bots still had quite a few kinks to work out.

For now things were relatively calm, the small crowds waiting patiently for any news or for something to happen. The media grabbing as much opinion and air time as they possibly could. And the cops standing on watch, wondering why the hell were they wasting their time guarding a self-defense trial when they have far more important things to do.
