The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

”Why a week? Where did you stay?”
"A week is the usual amount of time people tend to forget your face. Even if they are pissed at you. As for where I stayed, here, there, anywhere. It's not like I haven't lived on the streets before." Simple answer, he didn't want to drag Hades into this. He owed the man enough and he was pretty sure being linked to a mutant assassin wouldn't look good on him.
”Why did you go to the park? We have enough grounds here where you could be alone to practice at night.”
He shrugged again. "People have plenty of food in there homes and yet they still go out to eat. It was just a change of scenery. It's not easy going from living outdoors to living indoors. Besides you run the same track every day, you're not challenging yourself." That was the truth at least, if he hadn't been attacked nobody would have cared.
”Was this the first two instances that you had with any of them? Why didn’t you contact the police after you were attacked the first time?”
"Yes, I haven't seen them before. They could have been stalking me and I wouldn't have known." He corked a brow at the second question, wondering why Sam would bother to ask, "If you know my history, you know why I didn't call the cops. It's not exactly my first instinct." Definitely not the first thing he would do. He could trust them sure, but he wouldn't call to ask for help. They hadn't been very helpful to him in the past.

Sam tilted his head to the side slightly wishing he had a drink ”That isn’t gonna fly with the prosecutors. You need to be a little more descriptive on where you stayed. Tell them the cross streets or an address to an abandoned building if you are gonna tell them that. It might not seem like it is important to what happened but it’s all part of the story.”
The kid was right though Sam often went to the city to practice his mutation even when he wasn’t taking down bad guys. Impressing women for example, or creating an ice rink in the middle central park didn’t just happen unless Sam was there. Alex’s response to that question though was a good one, ”Good, couldn’t have said it better my self kid. Though from now on, let me or someone else here know you’ll be going out and keep that phone on ya at all times. It’s yours now.”
Leaning forward and resting his arms on his legs Sam raised an eyebrow at his next response. Sam didn’t like that answer. Kids shouldn’t be afraid of the police even with a history like Alex’s. That just said something about how people viewed the cops in New York City at least how the mutant kids viewed them. ”I know your history, the prosecutors, the judge and the jury however won’t. So next time you here someone ask that question you respond with the truth. You were scared.” Sam then shifted to one side and then cleared his throat. ”Anything else you want to tell me?”

Alex frowned at that, thinking about where in the world he could have stayed. There were plenty of back alleyways all over New York, sure. But he couldn't think of specific street names. "I didn't stay in the city though. Not for long anyway. Headed northwest, across a bridge. They didn't want me near, so I made myself scarce."He shrugged, not a complete lie. Technically he did travel that way.
"Good, couldn’t have said it better myself kid. Though from now on, let me or someone else here know you’ll be going out and keep that phone on ya at all times. It’s yours now."
He was liking this less and less. He never had to tell anyone where he was going. He was thirteen the last time he did something like that. He looked down at the phone, wondering if it was really worth it after all. It was starting to feel like he was tagged animal.
"I know your history, the prosecutors, the judge and the jury however won’t. So next time you here someone ask that question you respond with the truth. You were scared."
He sighed and nodded, there was no arguing with that. And it was true, he had been scared, panicked by the sudden and vicious attack. So he ran, went with his first gut instinct and followed a complete stranger out to a cabin in the woods. But that last bit nobody needed to know about. As far as everybody else knew, he had been on his own and it would stay that way.
"Anything else you want to tell me?"
"No, there isn't anything else. But...I do have a question. What happens, after all of this, if they still find me guilty?" That was the part that frightened him the most. Wearing the collar for a few days made it hard to think. With his powers forcefully shut off for longer than that...he feared to think what might happen to his brain.

The ice stool soon was empty as Sam stood with a wave of his hand. The stool started to crack then blew apart into little bits of snow and scattered to the ground. There would be some water left over once it all melted but that didn’t matter. Sam looked to Alex, ”I told you before, as long as I’m around you’ll have a home here. So let me worry about that. You got enough on your plate at the moment.” with that Sam walked to the door and opened it.
Hand still on the door knob Sam stopped and sighed, ”Oh kid, I never had been in the exact situation your in now but I have taken a life before. No kid should ever have to go through, alone or otherwise…” Sam hesitated as he trailed off. ”I’m more of a take action kind of guy but if you ever need an ear or something to hit let me know. Don’t let it eat at you. It’s not your fault, you’re still human.” with that Sam walked through the door and shut it behind him. Guilt followed him out the door and to the nearest bottle.
