The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Shogun sidestepped her dagger with great ease, 'What the!!! He sidestepped my dagger... And had blocked her attack but his sword had slowed considerably.' She grinned, 'Great work Tris'. Kitra locked hilts with him and spoke quickly and quietly. "Shogun, my employer is Mr. Antonescu. He wants you to come to the USA and work for him. Your biggest gain is is to fight against him. I have with me a dvd that will hopefully make things a bit more clear." Kitra smiled, "Me fighting you is a bonus for myself. I would appraicate if you would go all out...Except, of course, killing me or severing a limb."
Kitra now grinned and nodded in Tris' direction, "Let it go darling, I don't want you to strain yourself. And please don't jump in if I get hurt." Kitra unlocked hilts and stepped back five paces and twirled her sword around a few times. The sword stopped and she moved in a defense position, ready to defend and to attack if needed. She would now let Shogun make his move. Whether he continued the fight or wished to end this. 'She didn't think that he would stop though', she grinned inwardly.
Tris was still watching the fight avidly, beaming despite her dully throbbing cranium and heavily concentrated gaze as she saw Kits plan play out......hey- it'd worked, well how bout that.
"Alrighty hun, just remember to not break a leg- thats for the stage, here it would be kinda bad.......Luck to ya Kit." she called back, hoping there wasn't some rule or something preventing the spectators calling out. Tris was secretly thankful for Kits words....cause honestly- oww, and she happily released the immobilized molecules that were the air around the sword, feeling much better in herself, though alittle drained.
...however she was still watching, she wouldn't interfere easily, but if her teammate was is serious danger of the heads gonna role variety.....she would so step in.

He was surprised that her sword still met his, despite him not moving it. Then the reason came clear, as she seemed to be spouting some sort of sales pitch at him. Her frowned, but the mask showed nothing as she backed away again, and he felt his sword unfreeze it self, and the ripples stop emanating from the spectator. He saw her take up a defensive position, obviously waiting for him to attack again. Good.
He waited, until she was just exhaling, and so slightly less prepared. He lunged forward without any warning, swinging in from both sides with his sword. His large one was low enough that she couldn't duck it, and the short one too high jump. He purposely did this, trying to reduce her options.
Shogun attacked, His large sword was low enough that she couldn't duck it, and the short sword too high jump. 'Crap!' Kitra moved backwards quickly getting out of the way of the two swords. Her mind flashed to her sketchbook and realized it wouldn't be a good thing for her to try and bring something else into being. It had been almost seven minutes and she was getting tired.
Kitra moved forward and to the left where the long sword was and slashed her katana downwards. She did so near the hilt in hopes that he would perhaps lose his grip. It was desperate move in a sense, but she no longer thought of it. She just moved and prayed that she wouldn't lose any limbs. She didn't think Hunter would be happy about it if she did.
Kitra sincerely hoped that Shogun was proficient with stopping his attacks. Her moves were becoming sluggish and she wasn't too sure if she could block his next attack.

Shogun could feel her getting tired; tired people's thought move slower. This has the added bonus of him seeing their attacks even earlier, and as her attack came down he let it connect with his sword, and swung the short sword toward her shoulder. He didn't want to injure her too badly, as he wanted to talk to her later and find out more about her, so he didn't swing it particularly fast. She may be able to blick it, if not, then it wouldn't do alot of damage, but it would make her bleed, thus causeing her to lose.
As she attacked his long sword with her katana, he used his short sword to slash at her shoulder. Kitra winced and tried to bring her katana up to block but it came short.
Kitra let out a yelp of pain as his sword bit into her shoulder. It wasn't too deep but it happened to be the exact same spot that she had gotten slashed upon not even a month ago. Kitra stepped back and leaned down and picked up her sheath and slid her katana into it.
She then bowed to Shogun, knowing she had lost. But still grateful for the experience. "Thank you Shogun. Is there perhaps a place we could talk a bit more privately?" Her shoulder was bleeding freely and hurt....A Lot!! But it wasn't as important as carrying out Hunter's order's.

Shogun gave off no emotion at all as she bowed to him. He sheathed both his swords, and bowed as well. He noticed an attendant coming up to meet him, and he gestured the woman to a quite spot whilst waving the attendant away.
"What do you want?" He was interested now. The name Antonescu rang a bell somewhere, but he couldn't place it. He was still troubled by the shroud that covered the girl and her friend, but decided that he had already shown he oculd best her, and that she was therefore no longer any threat. The other one though, she could be dangerous. He had no idea what those ripples were, but they were focussed on his sword, and it stopped moving. He hadn't seen anything like it before, and wanted to know what was going on.
Kitra followed Shogun to a more private spot and less likely to be overheard and then sat down as she was feeling....off. She couldn't figure out why at then moment and hoped she would realize it soon.
"What do you want?"
Shogun, my employer would like you to work for him. As I said before his name is Hunter Antonescu. He knew your grandfather and was hoping to meet his best pupil." Kitra sighed, 'she was no good at explaining these types of things. That was Tris' fortue.'
She turned and looked for Tris and had hoped that Tris had followed. She turned back to Shogun and gave him a slight smile. "Unfortunatly, I am really no good at explaining things. My colleguege is better at that. I do believe she is on her way over here now." Kitra silently prayed that she was on her way over. She moved her arm slightly and realized that that would be a good reason why she was woozy. She was still bleeding... Kitra sighed and then frowned in concentration. She then realized that her sketchbooks were too far away.
She got up, "Shogun, my apologies, but I must go get bandages for my shoulder. I will be back in a moment." Kitra walked over to one of the attendents and they handed her the bandages before she could even open her mouth.
As she walked back over to Shogun, she nearly fell from dizziness. Swerving slightly in her walk, she managed to get back and sat down and wrapped the heavy linen bandage around her arm tightly. She was still feeling woozy and also felt slightly ill. She just sat there hoping that Tris would arrive and clear things up for Shogun.
Tris ran up to them with an armful of bandages, antiseptic bottles, and alcoholic wipes. "Hey....sorry, got here as fast as I could fine you's....." and she saw that Kit already had a bandage, "......and now thinking I shouldn't have bothered so much......you okay Kit?"
She turned her gaze to Shogun, not exactly forgetting the reason they were here; "Fairly good fight though........though not nearly as good as you might have......" she let that sentance hang in the air for a moment before continuing. "As I'm sure my esteemed team mate has already told you, we've come to talk to you to make you an offer.....Our boss has heard tell of your skills in the fighting arts and he was considering making a position available for you on his team......the draw card you might ask- whats in it for you? .....Well that would be pride, bet cha think your pretty handy with a sword huh, see our boss man, he has proclaimed himself 'the worlds greatest sword smith'.......how much do you wanna meet him and test that theory out."
Trista Evens paused, giving the guy time to think about what she'd just told him......which admittedly wasn't much, just to wet his appetite really. A persuasive smile on her face and compelling words in her mouth had always done wonders before......on most normal people at least.

Shogun showed no signs of wanting to help as the girl struggled with her injury; it was her fault for choosing to fight. She babbled some more things about this 'Antonescu' person, and he felt himself wanting to know who he was. The other girl came over with multiple first-aid items, none of which were entirely necessary. His opinon of these girls was rapidly falling. Hang on, the first one said he was a master swordsman, the other a master swordsmith. "You said he was a master swordsman. You said he was a master swordsmith. Which is it? And you continue to mention making me an offer, but you have yet to go into detail on what this offer entails." He was quickly loosing his patience, this far into the competition meant that there wasn't much gap between matches, and he was in no mood to be disqualified because these girls were distracting him.
Kitra sighed, "Shogun our apologies. Masterswordsmith to us also means a masterswordsman. It means he is well trained in the area of swordsmanship. He is one of the best in New York, more likely the United Stated of America actually." Kitra thought for a moment, "Here is your offer. My boss Hunter Antonescu wishes for you to be an ally. There is need for a honorable samuri such as yourself." She stopped and frowned, she thought she felt raindrops. She opened her mouth to speak and was cut short by an exreme downpoar of rain. "Um, is there anywhere we may continue this discussion dry perhaps?" Kitra stood and looked over at an attendent that had come over.
"My apologies, with this downpoar, the competition is canceled. If you would follow me to shelter." The attendent beckoned and herself, Tris and Shogun followed. Upon arriving to the building, Kitra spoke quietly with the attendent. Explaining that they needed a room with a dvd player and chairs. The attendent nodded and brought them to a room with those items. The attendent bowed them into the room and left.
As Tris had grabbed their bags, she grabbed hers and took the dvd out and stuck it in the dvd player and turned on the tv. She realixed that she had still been holding her katana and she let it go with a sigh of relief. She turned to Shogun, "Here is the dvd I spoke of. This dvd shows Hunter defeating 40 armed men in less then two minutes. I realize that you cannot see this, but hopefully our reactions will make things more clearer." Kitra hit play and watched, entranced at her boss. At the end she was once again amazed and very, very grateful for the fact that she wass not Hunter's enemy.
Tris cringed slightly at their misunderstanding......it had sounded good to her.....but Kit saved the moment and finished their speech- they made a pretty good team.
.....next thing she felt were rain drops, and as she looked quizzically at the sky- it started to pour. Grabbing her bags and running after the others, she was soon inside, in a dry room, and again watching the dvd of Hunter doing his thing against 40 armed and dangerous opponents.
She let her feeling wash over her, admiration of his skill at the foremost. Tris hoped Shogun saw sense soon......cause she was soo in the mood for some shopping.

Shogun didn't care if it rained; he often preffered training in the rain. He followed the girls anyway; with the competition postponed, there wasn't much else to do. He heard the first girl describe A DVD that she was about to attempt to show him. His opnion reached a new low. They were trying to convince a blind man with a video? Were these people stupid? She played it anyway, and though he couldn't see it, he could hear that there was fighting, and he could sense the awe coming from the two girls. Maybe this man was as good as they said.
The name still bugged at him, but he thought he could vaguely remember his grandfather mentioning something about a hunter that was also a great fighter. That was shortly after he saw the... but that was a memory he didn't want to dig up. The nightmares were bad enough anyway. "So you say this man is a great swordsman? I see. You want me to become this man's ally, but in return for what?" He doubted that there wasn't a catch. He was no fool.
"So you say this man is a great swordsman? I see. You want me to become this man's ally, but in return for what?"
"You have a valid point Shogun. Hunter is interested in the fact that you are blind, yet you are a great swordsman. I do not believe that there is a catch. Also, if you wish to return here to Japan, then that would be arranged for you.'' Kitra cringed inwardly and prayed that she was not stepping bounderies with Hunter's authority.
She looked at Shogun levely and calmed herself mentally. "Mr. Antonescu wishes to meet you and fight with you. As he is a busy man, he couldn't come here to greet you himself. That is why your way to the U.S is arranged for you completly at his expense. If you wish to come that is." She had hoped that Shogun wouldn't be stubborn.... "Shogun, I realize this may be stepping bounderies but, I was hoping you would take off your helmet."
Kitra twiddled her thumbs slightly, waiting for his response.

Shogun considered her offer. "So I would travel to america, so that I could get a chance to fight against this swordsman, and could return at any time?" Her next question surprised him; why would she want him to take his helmet off? With nothing to lose, he removed it. With the flawless metal removed, it revealed a face with small, old scars lining it, and hair that looked like it was very long, but it was hard to gauge its length because it was done in a top knot. Most obvious of all though, was the black cloth tied around his eyes. The simple blindfold was of black material, and tied simply round his head.
He set his helmet on the table. "So you want me to leave my homeland, and come to visit this man who may or may not be a great swordsman, all on the words of two strangers?" He knew that they were telling the truth, but he liked to keep his truth detecting abilities quiet. That, and he wanted to know how they would respond.
