The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

”Look atcha mate, yer about to hit a kid over a lose on a gambling table.” Carrick said trying to talk some sense into the larger fellow who had him slightly off the ground and pinned to the wall. It was true Carrick did cheat and had a few cards up his sleeve he also had one of the white beads fall from the other as he was slammed up against the wall. Some people were just sore losers.
“You’re gonna give my money back or I’m dragging you to the cops!” Carrick scoffed at the threat. ”and what tell’em you lost ta a kid at a game of cards? Real legit!” Carrick said as he watched the guy cock his hand back and stop mid punch as Carrick snapped open his wings and pushed his legs off the wall behind him. Carrick wasn’t trying to fly away just prove a point. With his knees now in gut of the thug Carrick flapped once and landed on his feet as the guy toppled over.
”Not too bright ain’tcha? Picking on a poor and defenseless kid.” Carrick at this point wasn’t either. He was a far from a kid, he was in the late teens now meaning if he did actually get brought in for illegal gambling or pickpocketing again he’d get into a lot more trouble than Jorge giving him a talking to. Basically Carrick wanted to avoid that at all costs. Most people in this situation would have run away but after landing that hit Carrick decided he’d want to stick around and gloat.
”Oi! Every’one looky here! This guy’s trying to steal from a kid! Got knee’d in the chest. He also muttered something bout me being a stinking mutant as well!” another lie but no one else heard the conversation other than a few people that were trying to move away quickly now.
Being a dragon was fun, although the size issue did present complications. When your life previously revolved around quick escapes and sneaking in and out of buildings, being a lumbering slug had it's disadvantages. Tses wanted fresh air though, and she had some scores to settle. So she took the risk and wandered into the city.
Probably wasn't the smartest idea.
There was no way to be stealthy when she was a giant. People scurried out of her way, cursed at her, and generally showed disrespect. Maybe she wasn't Orochi, but she felt entitled to be respected. She was much bigger than them. Much more powerful. Pathetic people.
Distracted by these thoughts, she noticed a familiar figure standing and gloating over another male. Curiousity got the best of her as she wandered closer, wondering if Carrick was still... Carrick. He sure acted like him, but a lot of people had been effected by the swap. She had since learned the dragon and herself weren't the only victims.
Sticking her nose in others business was still a characteristic of her, so Tses moseyed closer (or thundered over, which is what it felt like), and leaned her head close to the two figures.
"Someone have a problem with mutants?" She remarked, coolly.
Good someone bigger came. Someone who was also a mutant. Looking to the new comer and looking away from the eejit who thought it was a good idea to attempt to rough up the winged thief, Carrick instantly thought of using the obvious mutant. ”He does.” Carrick said as a matter of fact hoping this miniature Godzilla wasn’t the killing type like Shade was. Carrick didn’t want to be involved in anything like that ever again.
Carrick’s tail flicked behind him mischievously as he pointed to the guy who was trying to get up. ”Called me a cheat and a filthy mutanie.” the guy on the ground shook his head as he clutched his chest still trying to fill his lungs full of air. “Didn’t” was all he could manage as he glanced over to see the new comer.
”Now, personally. Upstanding citizen such as meself takes offense to something like that.” Carrick walked a few feet back to the side of the dragon but was sure to keep his distance just in case. He didn’t know if the dragon had manners and the last he wanted was to get into a fight with someone else. If it did turn south he’d just fly away, might take to long to shift. Even if he could take the dragon guy and the other in his gryphon form if he wanted.
”Don’t ya hate sore losers who spout non-sense about mutants?” Carrick asked the dragon person with a toothy grin and put his hands behind his head. ”Almost makes you want to rough em up some more eh?” Carrick said trying to plant the idea.
Yup. Carrick was still Carrick. Which presented the prime opportunity for Tses to mess with the little brat some later. After all, he did take her on a rather overly exciting flight through the city. She hadn't completely forgiven him for that. Or the whole, getting all griffon and trying to claim her thing...
"I think people who blame mutants for their own problems are ignorant." She mused casually in Orochi's voice. She tried to seem as smug as possible. That seemed to be how Orochi got whatever he wanted. "I could always aid in this 'roughing up' business, but I always seem to damage people a bit too much when I do that....so easy to go from a bruise to a broken bone with such fragile creatures..."
The guy looked like he was going to wet himself. She couldn't blame him. She was pretty terrifying. And that was awesome.
”See like minded individuals you and me” Carrick said pointing to himself taking another step back from both of the people in the alley. One doubled over terrified looking human and a terrifyingly large lizard man. Both of which Carrick had reason to fear. One could eat him and the other wanted to beat him. “I didn’t want any trouble, just my money!” the guy said loudly as he got to his feet and breathed heavily.
”Call it a day, you lost yer money because yer **** gambler. It happens. Now piss yerself and run along before Godzilla Jr. here decides to break you like a lil’ doll. Eh?” Carrick said smug now that he had a little back up. At least for the time being it was back up he didn’t know if Godzilla here was the hungry type.
”Ya fancy a game big guy?” Carrick said his voice cracking slightly as he kept his mismatched eyes on the pair waiting for one to attack or one to run.
