The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Life had been pretty calm at the mansion...for once. The city was mostly at peace, the x-men were doing the normal hero stuff, but nothing terribly life threatening. In fact, other than that whole parents trying to assassinate Mirror problem, thing felt almost, normal. After a night out on the town, Evelyn and Gawain had returned to the mansion and enjoyed some much needed alone time.
Alone without the dogs and the foxsquirrels and roommates at least. Hard to really be "alone" in a mansion that also housed a bunch of kids. Very quiet alone time... Oh well, the cuddling was nice. And for once, Evelyn fell asleep before some forsaken early morning hour.
And then...then things got....weird.
The first thing Evelyn registered was a sensation of silence. There was something jabbing into her face, a faint bit of moisture on the corner of her mouth, and an imprint of squares on her cheek as she lifted her head from what felt oddly like a keyboard. Which was odd, because Evelyn didn't sleep at a computer. Ever. If she did, she would have remembered it. Because she remembered everything. Except for why there was a keyboard. And she was pretty sure she hadn't been drinking last night which was the only other really good excuse she had for memory loss, what with the perfect memory thing.
She squinted. The room was dark, that was definitely a keyboard, and her face her. She whipped a sliver of drool from her cheek and squinted again.
She didn't remember leaving Mirror. Or going back to her room. Or sitting down or...anything. She also, couldn't remember the echoes ever feeling this silent.
Silence.
Why the heck was it so quiet?
Slowly standing, Evelyn felt something lightweight fall across her. They looked like pajamas, but they didn't look like...her pajamas. Those also didn't look like her legs. She had a pretty good memory about her legs, and that memory and these legs did not add up. She staggered backwards, tripped over a chair she didn't remember, and there was a loud crash and swearing as she slammed into a bed. She bit her tongue in the process, and tasted blood (well, at least that sort of tasted right), but the hair in her face didn't seem right either.
Bloody....hell...
Crawling in a daze across the ground, the information felt unusually slow as she tried to put it together. Waking up. Strange room. Quiet. Everything wrong. Quiet quiet quiet quiet... She found herself in front of a mirror, and the silence was deafening as she stared at a reflection of .........Serena?
She was pretty sure that was when the screaming started. And then her body was gone, and there was blood, and panic.
Serena quickly darted through the hallways, nearly falling over or tripping up several times for.. some reason. She glanced from side to side, voices in the back of her head almost narrating everything she was seeing, noticing little things in the corner of her eye. Her brain was saying this was something between a drug trip, and a dream.
The voices in her head, and her brain picked up on screaming coming from the direction of her hallway. She noticed several students stirring. Her walls were slightly soundproofed, she was aware from nights when she had woken up nearly screaming from fright, she suspected most mansion rooms were. But for her to hear it, there must have been distress. Serena's instincts kicked in, she tried her best to ignore the voice and try to help this person.
Who was... in her room. She blinked as she reached the door and skidded to a halt. She waved off students coming to her door in the way and they mostly backed off. She quickly slid into her room to find the source of the freak out and just froze. The voice in her brain went into over drive analysing everything. The other voice in her brain, the usual one, her thoughts. Just broke.
She looked at herself... or her body... or something, freaking out, the corner of her eye drew her to whispers in her brain driving her to look at the mirror. She glanced at it and saw... Evelyn? She was so, very confused. She stood, shaking slightly, confused and afraid. Before she saw herself still freaking out and tried to get the not Serena's attention. "Ummm hello?" Her voice didn't sound right either... This was going to be a long morning. Or night. She didn't even know what time of day it was.

The echoes didn't pick up on the sound of footsteps hurrying towards the room. They didn't pick up on the person entering. She did hear the voice which finally caused her to turn, but she was still screaming. And when she saw the person, she screamed more.
Who...was wearing...her body?!
"Mirror!!!" She screeched in panic, backing into the wall. The blood from her tongue had dribbled from her mouth and was snaking around her protectively. Which only freaked her out more. She swatted at the liquid and flailed, backing into a dresser. A lamp wobbled and threatened to fall. Gawain was yesterday, so if it was morning then she should be with... "Maya?!!" Where was Maya? Where was the room and why was she standing there and screaming here and
where were the ECHOES?!!!
There were no voices, there were no voices to tell her what was happening and where she was and why there was bloooooodddd floooating.
She's seen this before... she just needed to think and not panic and....
Serena took a slow, deep steadying breath and found it easier than normal to calm herself down, doing it with extreme ease. She wasn't going to dwell too much on that right now though. She focused hard on what was going on. So if she was Evelyn... Then that meant that she wasn't going insane... maybe.... And that the voices in her head were something to do with Evelyn's power.
The screeches for Mirror and specifically Maya made the voice in her head, and her own thoughts click simultaneously. She was the REAL Evelyn, and she was in Serena's body. They had swapped. "E-Evelyn..." Her voice came out a squeek. It just felt wrong using someone else's voice. "Evelyn! I-I think we've switched.. somehow.. You're in my body!" She had to think. Think. Evelyn was bleeding, and upset, meaning mutation... bad.... Danger kept ringing through her mind, she used all of her willpower to try and ignore it though.
"Y-you" She took a deep breath. "You need to breath. Slowly. My power is emotion controlled. You need to CALM. DOWN." She found the strength to speak with more vigour.

Need to calm down.
Evelyn tried to repeat the statement, but it wasn't clicking. There was glowing blood and her mouth hurt, and there was someone in her body yelling at her. WHY WAS HER BODY YELLING AT HER?! Trying to piece things together on her own felt painful, sluggish. The words flopped around in her mind and she felt like a computer running without enough RAM. Serena. Evelyn. Serena. Evelyn. Bodies. Powers.
No echoes, no playbacks. Blood.
She slithered backwards, trying to get away from the blood. It was like a magnet, following her. She pointed at Serena and squeaked out, "St-stay back." Her tongue was still bleeding. There seemed to be more blood than that though. Maybe she hit her knee or something in the scuffle, or an elbow or something. She tried to remember all the information she read on the blood mutant and her powers. Serena, blood, powers. Bodies.
She couldn't remember. She bit her tongue harder to not scream. She looked like a terrified animal trying to crawl through the wall to freedom.
At least the screaming had stopped now. The blood was floating like little needles around her, protecting her from the other Evelyn.
As scared as Serena had always been of her mutation, terrified, even. However she had never actually gotten to see what it looked like to those who were on the outside. It was like the very air around the person was threatening to murder Serena if she approached. She tried to fight off the danger warnings going off constantly, and the other random observations popping into her head.
She approached cautiously. Even if she was in Evelyn's body, she still had her normal, gentle body language. "Evelyn. It's me. Serena. You know me. Please. Please. Relax." She was shaking gently. It wasn't just the voices that were reminding her of the danger, it was the body too. She was absolutely terrified. But she pressed on regardless.
Danny glanced curiously in the direction of the sound, drifting towards it, naturally assuming that disaster was imminent from that direction. But he was okay with that. Not like he could die, anyway -
Oh, wait. If he could use Mirror's powers...
Sh*t. Then he probably couldn't use his own. He definitely didn't want to try to find out.
Walking as a woman was kind of strange, as he was just discovering. Mirror was taller than he was, and leaner in a more muscular way, while Danny was just plain skinny. And there were these new anatomical differences that were just plain confusing. But he wasn't that disoriented, to be honest - the powers he could've been landed with could be a lot less controllable than Mirror's, and at least he knew the basics of how hers worked, having been given a rundown previously. Also, nothing really affected him at this point.
As he started to near the source of the screaming, he slowly became aware of somebody else's voice speaking through out. And once he arrived at the room where the sound was coming from and boldly stepped in, he was rather confused to see a girl he didn't know surrounded by... floating blood? The evil woman was kneeling down next to her, though, and it seemed as if she was trying to soothe the girl. He - or was it she now - raised an eyebrow, slowly backing up and starting to leave the room, trying to be as subtle as possible.
Feel free to go for killshots. I don't mind - but you probably will. Danny speaks in flame red.

Evelyn's body was calm. Or, Serena was calm. Slowly that information was settling in Evelyn's head, even with the sluggish manner it took to get there. Serena. Was. In Evelyn's. Body.
Bloodyhell.
"Turn it off!" She whimpered, flicking at the blood in an attempt to make it go away. Instead of turning off Serena/her powers, a spear of blood flew across the room and broke the nearest mirror. The figure standing next to it thankfully was out of harms way.
The figure. Mirror? Something about Maya's expression didn't look right though. Evelyn backed further against the wall, desperate to escape the nightmare.
And then, that blood form she heard about sort of...took over. The blood glowing spread and then Evelyn was a freaky blood version of Serena.
Back to screaming. More blood projectiles hit nearby objects. Evelyn managed to at least keep them from injuring anyone for the time being. She sat on the ground and tried to hold her legs close and shut everything out, but the form was even more disorienting, and it was draining her already exhausted body. Serena's exhausted body?
Serena took a deep breath trying to stop herself shaking from fear. The corner of her eye picked up somebody who had entered the room, she turned her head slightly and saw Maya... but she was acting weirdly, Maya wasn't generally afraid of things, and her body language was off... as if she wasn't used to walking her body. The voice in her brain suggesting the possibility of her being in the same scenario as Serena and Evelyn was rather high.
Serena saw the person backing off and trying to leave, probably more so now that they were nearly murdered by a flying blood spear. She took another breath and stood her ground, luckily not impaled yet. She looked directly at Evelyn speaking as softly as she good, trying to calm the poor girl.
"Evelyn it's me, Serena. Look at me. Look at me." She looked directly at the blood creature's eye area. "You know me. I would never hurt you. I need you to breath in and out. Think calm. Be. Calm." She was speaking as slowly and as clearly as she could although her hands were still shaking.
She gave a mental wince as she realised that her door was kind of destroyed as well as her mirror.
Oh, dear lord, what was going on. The strange girl had turned into a giant hovering blood person, and was proceeding to impale as many things as she possibly could around her, though she seemed to be trying to avoid stabbing that evil woman and Danny himself. Probably. He wouldn't have particularly minded if one had hit the former, though...
Ironically, even as he though that, a...blood...spear? flew right by him, slicing the outside of his left arm. He glanced at the injury unconcernedly as blood started to well out. Eh, wasn't a big deal, it'd heal rather quickly after he went through a - sh*t. Whoops. Now he'd have to actually work on his self-preservation. This swap was proving to be more irritating than anything, but it was kind of fun. He had different powers that he could actually control, and they didn't involve constant accidental property damage!
But now to figure out how to respond to the problem at hand. Clearly, the girl wanted Mirror, considering she was screaming her name. Sadly, Danny could not follow through on that, considering the real Mirror looked like him, and -
Oh, wait.
She'd said, "Change me back."
Well, crap. That probably meant the evil lady was in the body of the girl, and the girl was in the body of the evil woman. Now that he thought about it, that was most likely what had happened. He and Mirror clearly weren't the only ones, then. But he still didn't know what to do. He contemplated pretending that he was Mirror to comfort the person currently screaming and impaling everything in sight, but then decided that he was still pissed at her for the break-in incident, and leaned against the doorway instead, crossing his arms matter-of-factly and staying put. He knew that the two of them were suffering through what he was as well, so he wasn't leaving when he had people he could ask for help. But he also wasn't helping because she was the victim.
Wow. He really did dislike her.
Feel free to go for killshots. I don't mind - but you probably will. Danny speaks in flame red.

Mirror seemed... wrong, and that was enough to get Evelyn's focus. She needed her echoes. She needed help piecing together all the broken bits of her brain. Or Serenas's brain. Oh crap she hoped she hadn't broken Serena's brain. But if someone was in her body she couldn't use the echoes unless...She needed to be human again. She needed to calm down just for a second.
Focus. Focus. She reached out, and managed to grab Serena by the arm, and a rush of echoes filled her head. Glorious familiar echoes chatted away, although they also quickly announced she was nude and someone else was likely in Maya's body.
Evelyn dove for the bedsheet and screeched, although this time it was directed at mirror/not mirror. "Get out of my girlfriend's body! And bring her back!"
Serena tried not to jump out of her (Evelyn's) Skin when her arm was grabbed by Evelyn in her body, thankfully she managed to break out of blood form. Man, she was going to be feeling that soon. Normally, it would have taken her brain a moment to process what was happening with the whole, nudity thing, however the Echoes.
Her face dyed in scarlet immediately as soon as the echoes commented that her body was in full view of the not Maya person. Serena tried to block off the view of that person with her current body. Though Evelyn's body was smaller than hers. She sat near Evelyn who had dived for the nearby sheet. Her face still completely and utterly scarlet. "C-Can you please try to make sure you're covered before you start yelling at that person?" Her voice was shaky, somewhere between still filled with Adrenaline, fear and being completely and utterly flustered.
Serena was not used to ANYONE seeing her naked. She hadn't even really properly kissed someone yet. And now two, what she assumed were both girls, were seeing her body completely in the nude. The echoes carried on chirping in her mind, noting things and giving off danger warnings, contributing to her growing headache.
She didn't know how to react, she just kind of hid her blush underneath Evelyn's body's near white hair.
Oh. Kay. Unlike other guys who would've been put in this situation, Danny immediately whipped his head around to face in the other direction, scrambling to prop himself up with an arm in the doorway (okay, maybe he wasn't used to being this tall and was leaning on everything he could to compensate), facing downwards as he tried to keep from blushing. Only when he heard the sound of someone scrambling under a sheet did he very slowly turn back around, making sure that she was covered before he turned to fully face the two, slightly embarrassed himself.
Evil woman!girl's face was bright red, clearly embarrassed because that was her body everyone had seen naked, while girl!evil woman was cowering under the sheets, clearly embarrassed because... well, she'd been in the body that was naked. A beat or two passed in completely awkward silence as everyone tried to avoid looking at each other, and a few seconds passed before Danny - in his usual tactless manner - spoke.
"So," he said, wincing as a voice that was very much not his own came out of his mouth. God, at least the two people in front of him who had switched were girls. He was not, and now he was.
Only then did he notice that the blood from the cut on his arm had somehow morphed into a spike and was now hovering in front of his face in a clearly threatening manner. He frowned in irritation at it and resisted the urge to swat it away, as he was sure that wouldn't end well.
"Uh, I think it's obvious we have a problem here," Danny continued, deciding to ignore the blood spike and to keep on going, "and that I am not Mirror. I don't know how to get her back in this body, but I may know where she is." He paused, thinking of what to say next, and considered introducing himself for a moment before deciding that he really didn't want her screaming at him for being in her girlfriend's body, of all people. "I think it'll actually be better for everyone were I not to clarify who I actually am. So, what next?"
Feel free to go for killshots. I don't mind - but you probably will. Danny speaks in flame red.

Evelyn felt confused and tired all at once. Not Mirror was saying they were not Mirror but they weren't saying who they were. And that wasn't helpful. The little dagger of blood slowly dropped and dripped to the floor. Which was totally gross, but now she was tired, and she was very aware how sore her throat was from all the yelling. Wrapping the blanket around her, she sat on the ground, squinting at him. She needed to sort this out. She needed to sort it all out.
But first, she was pretty sure she needed a nap. Her whole body felt sluggish, and the last thing she wanted was to get dragged to doc prof naked. Even if she wasn't in her body naked. There was still nudity, and she didn't want to see unplanned nudity on anyone.
"Where's Maya?" She put her head against her knees, rubbing her head and trying to get a grip. Don't panic. Don't panic don't panic don't panic....The world was all tilty.
"Actually, tell my body where she is. I think that's Serena. And then find her...I think I'm.....just gonna nap."
Darkness, glorious darkness took over.
Still naked. They'd have to deal with that problem first...
Serena let out a sigh of relief as she saw Evelyn slowly tapering off and running out of energy. At least she wouldn't be a danger to anyone for the time being, other than maybe herself. She sat close to Evelyn as she tightened the sheets around herself and smiled softly to her. "We'll find her. Just rest." She spoke soothingly and wrapped her arms gently around Evelyn in a hug, letting her fall asleep.
She sat up afterwards, letting out another sigh and taking a deep breath before turning and walking towards not Maya. "Look, I don't know who you are. Frankly I don't much care right at this minute, you are going to have to wait out into the hallway. I need to get... Myself, dressed. Then we are making a visit to the doctor, and then we can deal with whatever caused this. Deal?" She didn't wait for a response.
Once she was sure that Evelyn was out cold she slipped her fingers carefully under her own body, making sure the sheets did not fall off, and with some effort carried her to Serena's bathroom, which seemed to be thankfully relatively untouched. She grabbed some Pj's from one of the piles of clothing from one of her drawers which had exploded. It seemed to be undamaged, and without any blood residue on it.
She very carefully and slowly, slipped Evelyn into the Pyjama's and then wrapped her further in a dressing gown. The echoes chimed in her head the entire time, giving her a rather large headache. She didn't know how Evelyn coped with this every single day. She sighed gently and picked up her unconscious body, still having trouble lifting it, but forcing herself to manage. She nudged the door open and stepped out.
