The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She watched the fog cloud move in with curiosity. It was sudden and local and while Aura was no weather expert she was pretty sure the guy was behind it. SHe relaxed a bit upon realizing this, it meant she likely would not be shot at by him suddenly. His voice further relaxed her, his fear was obvious and Aura assumed he was no seasoned fighter.
Jumpy was a good term for it. Aura admired her new friend's speech and prowess, she sounded strong and determined and right to the point. "I mean no harm to our kind" she said which was not completely true but she felt it went well with what Emily had said. While Aura meant Mutants no harm if it could be helped, she was also willing though regretfully to kill them if left no other choice.
The blade around her hand lost it's sharpness quickly seeming to retract into the aura around her arm though really it was just a visual effect Aura liked to do. It was quicker and easier to simply make it fade away.
"I am Aura" she said simply. Her Aura then faded further untill it was a thin outline around her, which still served to mostly guard her against the rain. "As i am not immune to freezing to death we should make this quick or finish in the car?" she said looking over at Emily for her permission.
Hearing the first girl, Jon retracted the puddles of water back into the pouch from where it came. He slowly walked out of the fog toward the woman with the Aura. "Wow, The aura?! You're a legend!" Jon couldn't help but to be a little star struck by the woman. Although he'd never seen her, he had heard countless tails of he exploits around New York. So who was this girl with her then?
Jon realized they were still standing out in the rain which he didn't mind but it was cold, and he knew not to keep the legendary Aura waiting. "Sure! Lets get in. I can't believe I'm meeting you!" The fog began to clear up as Jon's defenses gave away to his sudden urge to ask Aura everything he has ever wanted to know about her.
"People have been saying you've killed hundreds! Is it true?" Jon exclaimed. "Was this one of your victims?" He looked over jokingly at the unusually pale girl in the back of the hearse. He assumed this one was the first one to speak. Jon wasn't all about killing, but the thought did entertain him from time to time, imagining drowning all the humans in a giant tsunami of his design. The thought of reaching the full potential of his power was intoxicating.
Suddenly a thought struck him, he had forgotten his manners in all the excitement. "I call myself Acuamo!" Jon stuck his hand out to the pail one he had made the joke about earlier. He knew better then to get to close to Aura. "I control water!" He blurted not realizing he probably gave away the best secret to his defense that he could give.

Emily looked between Aura and the new guy, Acuamo. Maybe she should have a nickname. The boy’s name sounded like a mix between Aqua and Wa-mo. Like he could hit things very hard with water. And Aura…well, it was obvious. Zombie-girl? Voo-doo, maybe spelled vudu to make it hip? Hmm.
She glanced over at her female companion at the killing comment. Was this what she meant about people would rather have let her die? Why was this man so awed by her crimes? Was Emily in a good situation right now?
Well, she did say she was going to get this woman to the Sanctuary. And Aura had been kind to her so far. So Emily decided to continue in the direction she was going? “Get in the car, Acuamo. There’s plenty of room in the back.” She stepped back into the hearse. “Oh, and I was killed by my uncle. Not this lovely woman, “she said as she shut the door. Emily was ready to get moving.
The man's enthusiasm caught Aura entirely;y off guard. It was not really common even amoung mutants that people did not think she was a bit extreme. She slipped into the car still unsure what to make of the man. If he could control water Aura could think of a great many uses for him however depending on where his moral compass pointed. SHe was glad Emily spoke before she did but being called lovely through her for a further loop. She had been called it before but never by people who were basicly random strangers....random strangers who could swim through the worst rainstorm she could recall without trouble...
"The number is much higher, My watery friend. I passed that mark before i ever came to this country" she said honestly. The death toll up in the forest has been high both friends and humans.
"You are both safe with me and at Sanctuary. It is my home and if needed it can be yours to. No humans aloud so we are free to use our powers " she said smiling a bit when she thought of home then museing that maybe openly revealing where she lived might not reflect positively on the place. With a brief thought of Isabel Aura smiled and shook her head, she was fine.
"Why are you so excited to meet me? Even among our kind your one of the more enthusiastic. Im flattered to know after being gone a year im still recognized so easily. Do you need help of some kind?" she asked curiously.
Jon gave the pale woman a confused look. "You were killed? So how...?" He fell silent, not really knowing how to ask the question forming in his mind.
"Sanctuary? I've heard of it somewhat. I made a friend a while ago at the mansion. There were a few whispers of another safe haven. Even more whispers of the one who kills many to protect our kind." He glanced at Aura, still starstruck by her lack of morality toward humans. Stories of her killings rang through his head. "At the mansion, everyone is so cheery and happy about things. They act like everyday our friends aren't hunted down and extinguished. You've saved many, granted you've also killed many." His memory took him to a particular story where Aura had to choose between saving a few mutants or saving hundreds of humans. Of course she had chosen the mutants. "I am excited to meet you because I want to learn from you. I've learned how they do it at the mansion, but I want to learn if your way is any better. Pardon my over excitement. I set out on a quest to find someone to teach me about the sanctuary and I've found the best possible mentor."
Jon glanced back over at Emily. "Have you killed anyone?" The girl looked like she had seen a few battles. Her cheery disposition seemed out of place on such a dreary day. Annoyed with the rain pounding on top of the car as they drove, Jon turned the pellets of water into a solid shield hovering over the car like an umbrella.

Emily was glad her new male acquaintance could control water. Visibility was so much better when her vehicle wasn’t being pelted with large quantities of liquid. “I’m not sure which way I am going.” She glanced right to see if any vehicles were coming and pulled out into the road. “Let me know which direction I should be going.”
The dead girl decided not to answer the young man’s question. While she had never stabbed or shot anyone, people had died by her actions. During war times, her enemy intelligence had led to dozens of deaths. A few people had died of heart complications after witnessing her ‘not deaths.’ But she had never taken a life by her own hands. Life was sacred, but sometimes it needed to be sacrificed for the greater good. But this wasn’t time for philosophical thoughts.
Emily turned down her Taylor Swift CD so she could hear what the others in the hearse. This was an interesting conversation. It’s not every day that a super fan meets their idol.
The kid has a rare view that made Aura happy. He seemed to grasp the danger they were in far more readily. Aura had a feeling he was also naive. Still his words did put hope in and a smile that some mutants would understand what needed to be done. " Their is already so much blood upon my hands.....if i stopped fighting someone else would have to dirty their hand and their power might not be as useful in a fight as mine. But im no mentor, following in my foot steps will likely leave you dead as it will most certainly do to me." she said honestly. She was unsure what the man wanted to learn from her weather just her ideals or a more proactive approach.
Aura had to consider directions, her phone was shot and she was more use to travel by alleyway but Aura knew them well enough. Citys did not change much. "Maybe we should clarify a bit, What i do and what Sanctuary does are different animals so to speak. Sanctuary supports Mutant supremacy like i do but it can't endorse murder or cop killing. Keep in mind as well, being a killer was never a choice for me and once you cross that line their is no going back. " she said honestly as she pointed out another direction.
"MY powers first manifested when i was in a school yard fight, i accidentally cut the girl's spine in two. After that i was taking to a holding center or so i thought. A woman rescued me and other mutant's held there and took us to a forest and trained us to sue our powers to kill. Those who refused were killed. Those who refused an order were killed. They played and changed our memories to make us better warriors. I recall nothing before my powers emerged for example" she said condensing years without going on to long about it.
Hearing the talented woman's origin story was fascinating to Jon. He did become curious when Emily decided to ignore his question completely. What was she hiding?
Jon felt the car come to a slow. He sat in silent awe, bewildered about Aura's story. Bewildered that she thought for even a second that Jon would allow any harm to come to this powerful being before him.
He remained silent for the remainder of the trip, feeling like a scolded child. Thinking about Aura while staring at Emily. These two were a curious bunch. He hoped and prayed someone else would say something and save him from this new awkward tension.

As Aura told her origin story, Emily was surprised she had never heard of her. For someone who had taken so many lives, her picture was bound to have been all over the news. Or maybe she had never been pinned to the crimes. That was impressive. This girl was impressive. Emily was glad she saved her life. There was something tragically beautiful about her. Her clothes and hair were still drenched from the rain. Her story added to the image. So she was a murderer. It wasn’t her fault she turned out the way she had. At least she was doing something to better fellow mutant’s lives. What good had Emily’s marches and picketing done? Maybe non-violent protesting wasn’t enough anymore?
She thought of the other “bad” mutants she had run across since returning to New York. None of them were inherently evil. They were just products of their past. Emily was surprised she herself hadn’t turned out bitter and violent. She had been murdered for crying out loud. Born a slave, experimented on, and treated as a second class citizen her whole life and death. First for the blood that ran through her veins and then the nucleotides that made up her dna. Emily turned off the radio completely. This was not the time for Taylor Swift.
The boy they picked up had quieted at Aura’s words. She wondered what he was thinking. Was he still as fond of Aura after she told her tale? His demeanor had changed so drastically. “So…Acuamo, where are you from?” Emily didn’t like negative energy. Maybe making small talk would bring up the mood.
As Emily turned right onto another street, she didn’t notice the van that had lost control and ran the red light, careening quickly toward their vehicle.
The car got quite and Aura for a moment wondered if she had been to harsh. SHe did not wish to deter his eagerness rather make him understand what her kind of life meant. Word's were never Aura's strong point and so aura lacked an immediate change in topic and was grateful Emily picke done up. She personally did not care where he was from but the question made her think of other things.
"How long have you two had your powers?" she asked curiously. SHe wanted to know how much they could control their mutations. Control over water could be a wonderful gift depending on how well he could access it. After all most of a human or mutants body was water. The girl was still a mystery as well though both were clearly Mutants.
SHe saw the car and shouted to her new friends it was there. Her aura stretched out in front of her almost a foot as she prepared for an impact she was pretty sure would be fatal. The mansions resident null had hit her with a car and that has nearly killed her, the van was much bigger in size. Still perhaps she could take enough of the impact to spare the other two if needed.
