The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Evelyn crossed her arms and huffed slightly, glaring at Sara. While they sort of worked things out, the relationship was still somewhat push/pull between them. That was mostly Evelyn's fault though. Having a perfect memory makes forgiving people a little difficult at times. When you relive memories of how people wronged you, it makes letting things go problematic.
"What are you doing sneaking up on people out here anyway? You're lucky I didn't stab you." She could feel her sai against her back, so the possibility was certainly there. Then again, she tried not to make the habit of randomly stabbing anyone on mansion grounds. While Doc Prof could probably stop it from causing any lasting damage, accidentally stabbing a kid wasn't really something you wanted to explain to anyone. Stabbing WereCat may be a bit easier to explain though...

Sara removed a bandana from her pocket. It wasn't often that she used it, but after sneezing it did help and she rubbed her nose clean. Sara could hold a grudge, but now a days, it was easier to live in the now. Not the past. Sara's past was too much of a dark place to dwell. Too close to Sam's.
"I wasn't sneaking up on people. I was sneaking up on you." Sara said smirking. "Most of the people out here, I let pass. I just had some things that I had to think about. You'll be seeing me around the mansion more." Sara shrugged and crossed her arms. Suddenly bored with trying to figure out any differences from Evelyn's mutation. Rocking back from the balls of her feet, to her heals. "Besides..." Sara's smirk turned into that teasing grin. "I don't think you'd have a chance at stabbing me." She teased.

Evelyn felt her eyes narrow, and then her mouth curled slightly at one corner as a smirk tried to force it's way onto her face. "I've been training. I'm pretty sure you'd be surprised what I can do. Just because my mutation isn't of the more...offensive variety, doesn't mean I can't stand my ground in a fight. Especially out here in the dark." She crossed her arms in challenge and put her chin up.
"You wouldn't have caught me if I was trying to avoid you. I just don't like risking accidentally stabbing kids so I'm more cautious out here. You're quiet, but the echoes are still quick." Her pride was getting involved now, and Sara's attitude always seemed to rub her the wrong way. Evelyn was determined to never feel like a cat toy again.

"Excuse me, Blondi." Sara chuckled. Sara remembered how Evelyn had changed between their first meeting and their meeting at the convenience store. She'd seen the girl grow in a couple of ways and while at the back of her mind she had the ut most respect for the girl, prodding her was so much more entertaining. "Someone's thinking much higher of themselves." Prod, prodityprod.
"Care to test that theory?" Sara pivoted on her heal and started slowly strolling in the opposite direction. Her tail flicking with every step as she closed her eyes tight and pulled her ears closed tight on either side of her head. Mean while she started calling out a count down. "20... 19... 18... 17..." If Evelyn was going to play around, Sara'd find out when she turned back around.

Blondie... Evelyn was pretty sure her hair had passed 'blonde' and was lingering somewhere around 'white', but she wasn't going to fight the nick-name, it only seemed to make it worse. The eye-roll was hard to resist though and she stuck out her tongue. "Not just thinking highly if it's true." Okay, maybe that sounded a bit smug, but Sara was the one prodding.
And then Sara started counting. Evelyn really didn't play games as a kid, so the concept of "hide-and-go-seek" was not her initial instinct. The echoes, as helpful as they were sometimes, went through a handful of suggestions before the right one popped up. By then, they were somewhere around 15, and Evelyn took off in a delayed run. While her powers made it easy to navigate in the dark, it would take a little effort to find a good hiding spot, and 15 seconds didn't let her get much distance. The first thing she had to do though was hide her scent. She decided to head towards the pool to start out with.

Yup. thinking highly of herself. Ok. So Sara wasn't giving her the longest of time to run. Not when Sara was the experienced tracker that she was. Sara started pausing more between her numbers. leaving five seconds between 11 and 10. Evelyn had guts, but did she have the mind to really back her up? still Sara called out the numbers, strolling in the opposite direction. "5..... 4..... 3...."
Sara skipped a few steps further down the path still headed away from Evelyn. One eye cracked open just enough to avoid tripping on the tree roots. Not paying Evelyn any mind till the time was right. "3..... 2 and 3/4ths.... " Sara taunted adding fractions. "2 and a half...... 2 and 3/16ths...." Sara stopped. She paused more for being dramatic than for giving Evelyn extra time... "1!" The last number was yelled louder than the others. Sara spun and headed first for where she'd left Evelyn. She'd pick up her scent there, and play it by ear from there. "Ready or not. Here I come."
When Evelyn got to the pool, she really didn't stop to think, she just listened to the echoes and quickly slipped into the water. The smell of chlorine stung her nose, so she could only imagine how it might feel to WereCat. It was a long shot, but sometimes you had to start somewhere.
As WereCat's count down drew near the end, she scooted towards the shallows and pulled out her sai. While staying underwater might have helped a little so Sara could see her, it would have also offered a prime opportunity to get herself drowned. Even though she could swim, she didn't exactly practice enough to fight in the water.
Settling down low in the water she watched for WereCat's approach, weapons in hand. She did remember a thing or two about the girl, more specifically her healing ability, so there was a little more leeway there about what they could do without worrying one of them would get seriously injured in the processes. Evelyn on the other hand...well, they would deal with that later.

Sara's clawed feet tore up the ground as she ran. Evelyn had a head start and with out that, this wouldn't be nearly as much fun as it was starting to be. It ha been a long time since Sara had tracked anything or anyone down on purpose and it was nice to unleash that side of her brain now and then.
Sara hit the patch of ground where she'd left Evelyn standing. She fell on into a run that included her arms too. Taking long strides as she staid low to the ground. Her amber eyes flicking between the area in front of her. Every now and then she veered off of the path. Not following exactly where Evelyn had gone, but where her scent had already drifted to thanks to the light wind.
The sound and smell of the water pulled Sara's attention away from the land. OK. So Sara might have forgotten about the mansion having a pool. It wasn't like she swam regularly... or at all. Still, Evelyn's smell lead her straight to the pool. It made sense. and when it came to providing cover, well... it did. Sara hopped onto of the fence that surrounded the pool not making her landing very stealthy as the metal bars donged and vibrated under her feet. But stealth wasn't that important. Evelyn knew she was coming. Her nostrils flaring then wrinkling. Ache pools always stank.
Sara hopped down to the cement walk way surrounding the pool, making her feet steps silent again. Evelyn's smell lead right to the side of the pool and Sara's shadow was over the water, cast there by the building lights. She didn't lean out to out over the water to peer over the edge, but rather walked past. If Evelyn was laying in ambush, simply peeking over the pools edge would make things entirely too easy for Blondi.

The echoes picked up on WereCat's approach about the same time Evelyn realized the water in the pool was OMGcoooolllddd! As she hunkered down in the shallows, chlorine leaving a sharp tang on her lips, she spotted the movement as the feline mutant approached. The echeos noted the sounds, and could piece together Sara's position, but nothing could quite make up for the lack of proper lighting. That was the only trouble with moving targets in the dark. Evelyn dealt with stationary things just fine, but it was hard to avoid someone who had better eyesight than you. She clutched her sai, staying still as Sara got closer.
When Sara got close enough, Evelyn planned to take a swipe at her legs and knock her off the fence. Stabbing was a little unnecessary at this point so she'd avoid that, but knocking the other girl into the pool was the objective one way or the other. The chlorine could hopefully provide a better cover for her scent, plus she was fairly certain Sara wouldn't appreciate the swim. Fur, water. That was logical to her.
The girl was smart. She had a decent place that she'd backed herself into and with the smell of the chlorine, Sara's nose stung a little. However smell wasn't the only sense that Sara had the ability to use in finding something, or in this case, someone. Her ears twitched this way and that. She could hear Evelyn's breaths and if Sara held her own air in her lungs for a moment, she could pick up on Evelyn's heart beat as well.
Carefully Sara lowered herself to the ground. Her right hand up defensively as she inched her way closer to the edge of the pool. Her shadow already over the edge of the pool and on the pools bottom, before she was over the edge. Sara froze for a moment. Only a moment before she was seen over the side of the pool, crouched. "Boo!" Sara yelled at Evelyn as she tried to grab her clothing to haul her out.

Evelyn could hear Sara approaching, but knew she had to wait until the right moment to act. Too soon and she would just give herself away, too late and she would just get plucked out of the water like a fish. Cat, fish. Heh.
Then Sara was there. In a flash, the sai stabbed forward, as Evelyn tried to hook WereCat by the leg. Her intention was to knock the girl into the water, but in the dark there was the distinct risk of accidentally just stabbing her instead. Not that she really wanted to stab her new teammate, but hey, training somethings brought injuries. And they were "training" now.
If the sai failed, her next goal was to make skin contact again, and possibly overwhelm Sara with the information in her head.

There was Evelyn, and there was the sai. Sara had herself low so when the sai came up for her legs, she had to jerk up to keep from having it go across her upper arm. Her bent knee in the way and Sara turned the leg, avoiding a big injury. Evelyn's sai hooked her leg and Sara stumbled. Nearly pulling her into the water.
Sara's first instinct to counter Evelyn was to grab for her arm with the sai. Bad idea and the memory of what had just rushed through her head mad her change tactics at the last second. Swiping at Evelyn's sai and intending to twist it out of her hand.

Close wasn't quite good enough in this situation. Not only was she unable to get WereCat in the water, the feline snatched out for the sai instead. Luckily, she had trained a bit to avoid loosing her weapon that way, and instead, scrambled backwards, and used a childish technique of evasion known as...splashing. She aimed for the face, intent on making Sara share the water one way or the other.
Meanwhile, she looped one sai back in it's holder on her back and waited for an opening to get out of the pool. It was turning into a detriment more than a help rapidly.

Evelyn avoided loosing her sai to Sara. Pitty but Sara noted in her own mind how the other girl had obviously practiced. Sara herself, was probably rusty with her own weapons.
Instead of attacking again, Evelyn scrambled backwards. Sara raising a protective arm in front of her face when Blondi splashed in her direction. Shielding her face and more importantly, her eyes.
Nonetheless, Evelyn was putting some distance between the two of them and Sara smirked. She could let Evelyn get out of the pool.... OR...
Sara glanced quickly down to make sure Evelyn was still in the shallow end of the pool. In the deep end and doing this would put the two of them in danger's way. It wasn't that Sara didn't like water. It was mostly that she couldn't swim so the shallow end of the pool presented no real threat. So with her body already crouched low, her tail gave a twitch as a single warning before she leapt. Aiming to land on top of (Or next to) Evelyn. Not intending to push her down but to wrap her arms around her and use the fur on her arms to shield herself from Evelyn's skin.
Evelyn saw the tail twitch, and the echoes quickly clued in on what was happening. Her options were rather limited at the moment, and the water was slowing her down, which was a hindrance at this point. The best she could really do was duck and scramble for the stairs, WereCat barely missing her. She also took a swat at the passing cat, trying to make contact with the girls' face. Less of a physical threat, more of an attempt to share echoes as a distraction.
Making a scramble for the stairs, she waiting to duck again. WereCat was faster, but the echoes at least gave her a warning of the other girl's actions. She needed to get some distance though... That meant doing something to slow the girl down. She wasn't sure the pool was going to cut it, but didn't have much time to think of a solution.
