The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ty smiled, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "Cars are my favorite," he said quietly. "Limo's not really a good choice. Too big. Stick out like a sore thumb. Ideally, you want something common. Something there's a lot of so you don't stick out. If you want something that sticks out, it needs to have power, speed. Gotta shake the cops if they show. And if they do, it helps to know how to handle whatever bad boy you took."
With an understanding nod, he looked around. "The riots...that was some **** right there...'course I got a girlfriend out of it. Then we ended up breaking up, got back together recently...crazy stuff. But yeah, when chaos breaks loose is the best time to get your feet wet if you're into something shady. Otherwise, stick with the cover of night, dark areas. Unpopulated, but make sure you know the area, just in case things go to hell."
He stopped, looking at a fish...lizard...thing... "Some girls aren't into the law-breaking guys. Well...most aren't. Not gunna lecture ya on how to get girls, because I honestly don't know. I just got lucky the one time."
No, he wasn't wearing a wire, but he sorta wished he was. This was both fascinating and potentially incriminating. All Jude had to do was admit a slight lapse in judgement and the guy was off spilling all his incriminating beans.
> "Limo's not really a good choice. Too big. Stick out like a sore thumb."
"Yes, but this limo had a HOT TUB." Which made it stick out all the worse, he was sure but... HOT TUB. C'mon!
"I don't really like driving." The thought of stealing something powerful and then using it to outmaneuver police made Jude a tad queasy.
> "When chaos breaks loose is the best time to get your feet wet if you're into something shady. Otherwise, stick with the cover of night, dark areas."
"So you're like Mr. Miyagi for thieving kids?" He was simultaneously taking mental notes and wondering if he should do the world a favor and ID this guy for the cops. "Is there some kind of wax on wax off technique you want to pass on? Like, something specific?"
> "Some girls aren't into the law-breaking guys."
"Yeah, well this one was." He could tell by the stolen pizza they shared and the fact that she was the one who egged him into it in the first place. Totally into it.

Maybe Ty was cocky; maybe he didn't care. Either was a likely option. "Heh, Mr. Miyagi? Not exactly. That would be the guy who taught me. But I do have a technique you need to learn. Very valuable no matter what you're doing, if it's less than legal. Don't get caught." Ty gave a sage-like nod. He had his athleticism and knowledge of the city to go on if things got bad. And worse case scenario, he had that nifty mental-booby-trap thing he was still working on mastering.
"If she was into it, then how'd ya blow it?" Ty asked, curious. Not that he was all that great when it came to hanging onto women, but still.
On the other hand... the ginger was still standing here rather than being behind bars.
If Jude had to guess it was because of his mutation rather than any cunning.
> "If she was into it, then how'd ya blow it?"
"Had a girlfriend and a shred of honor left." Emphasis on had. Le sigh. (He could say that with full irony 'cause you know. The French.
"I think we broke up." If he could keep from going into specifics, maybe Ty could give some ACTUAL advice on that front.
"She wants... we want..." Ugh. Without specifics this was harder to explain than he thought. Jude's sigh fogged up the glass in front of the half-evolved lizard thing. He'd almost forgotten they were at a museum for a minute there. "I don't think that was ever going to work out very well. She's a little older and... I'm not." He finished lamely and drove his hands through his hair.
"Maybe I should just move on?" Move on. Yeah. Jude took a step toward a large arch that proclaimed dinosaurs!

"Pretty much, yeah. They can't convict ya for it if they can't pin it on ya," he said with a shrug.
He listened, nodding as he tried to think of something to say in response, but came up drawing a blank. "Heh...yeah...girls are complicated that way. I'm sure there's not even a mutation that exists to help us guys understand them." This was confusing, and Ty was far from an expert on the matter; he just hoped he was at least doing a little good.
"Yeah, try that. One'll come along you can hang onto," he replied, following the kid deeper into the museum.
>"They can't convict ya for it if they can't pin it on ya,"
Jude was counting on that. Very, very much. Jude stuffed his hands back into his pockets and wandered over toward the smaller bird-like dinosaurs.
> "Yeah, try that. One'll come along you can hang onto,"
"Ugh. The problem with that is that I don't want to move on. But she's made it clear that she won't take me 'til I'm older so."
Jude shrugged and bounced on the balls of his feet. Now that he was thoroughly cooled off from the heat, he was feeling a tad more energetic. Only, now that he was inside, he wasn't supposed to be running around and doing things.
He did, however, let the thought stew for a little while. Jude had his whole life ahead of him. Svetty would just get older.
Bah.
BAH!
Time for a change of subject.
"You're a mutant, aren't you?" Jude kept moving, this time stopping at one of the larger displays for a plant eater with large armored plates. "Sorry to ask. The gloves and the attitude made me think of it." That and his incessant power that kept tugging at his control over the innocuous power he held now.

"Sometimes, you don't really have a choice," he replied with a small sigh. "Sometimes, life bucks and the only choice you have is to saddle up that horsey and ride."
Ty took the change of subject, giving a nod. "Yep; these gloves ain't just for a fashion statement," he replied with a smirk. "I can see the history of anything I touch, and that is imprinted into my memories, where I can't unsee it. Also, I can write memories or thoughts onto objects, that other people can't unsee. Still working on that bit though."
Oh. He went from bouncing to scuffing his feet on the smooth, clean floor in order to make little squeak sounds. He hadn't really thought that there was no other option. They were mutants. Weren't there always other options?
Jude looked up from his feet to Ty's face when he spoke about his mutation. The horror on his face may have been indicitive of what he felt about that particular power.
Can't unsee. Can NOT unsee? Jude looked at the ginger and took a smaaaaaaall step away. Yeah. No wonder his power wanted Ty's power. It was stupid. And mental. His power loved stupid, mental powers that would leave Jude babbling to himself in a padded room.
And that didn't really seem to be a power that would keep someone out of jail. Weird.
"So, you could see like... what dinosaurs really looked like?" One eyebrow up, Jude motioned with his head to the display that was not behind glass. There was just a velvet rope. More of a suggestion, really, to not touch it.

Ty blinked at the question, then smirked. "Kid, I can see whatever the object 'saw' in its lifetime." He did airquotes at the word 'saw.' "I learned to uh...be careful when handling other people's clothes. Really handy with combinations though."
At this, he had to smirk, as the thought reminded him of his favorite shirt. Ty eyed the display Jude motioned to, mischief in his eyes. "You know...are dinosaur bone exhibits even real dinosaur bone? I'm sure they're just fakes and the real ones are hidden somewhere."
Hm. "Sounds like your power has a serious suck side." But dinosaurs! "You have to tell me what color dinosaurs are. Surely a," Jude checked the display and got totally derailed from what he was going to say when he saw the name of it, "Dracorex Hogwartsia, —Holy cow! That sounds totally fake, but really cool at the same time." Jude was back to bouncing.
> "I'm sure they're just fakes and the real ones are hidden somewhere."
Hm. His bouncing slowed. "Good point. But there's only one way to find out for sure, right? I think we should check for seams. If they're cast plastic or whatever they'd have a seam from the mold. And if it's all fake I'll be rightfully irritated."
Jude began his search right away. Which bone was both within reach AND looked the most real? There was one that looked a tad crushed. That gave him some hope for realistic bone-ness.
"What about that one? The toe. Not the nail. See? It looks kinda chipped?" And it wasn't a perfectly uniform brow either. Yeah. Toe bone. That may be the way to go.
