The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sara stayed in her pose though she took in as much as she could. She quietly noted the Guard that gave Grit his warning. Even she only caught a short glimpse of him. Him and Grit’s fists, she wasn’t sure if that was because of her actions or Fawks’s. Then again she was still trying to take in other things. Including this hierarchy she could note for later.
I wouldn't need to step in if you could handle it yourself, a situation like that should never have happened. Don't get shame!y because you have that controller, these mutants should never be underestimated."
Sara stopped herself from clearing her throat. Up until she was addressed again the remarks going back and forth were almost like she wasn’t there. Like she was nothing more then furniture. Ok.. Maybe that was a good thing. Sara gave a small nod to what Quinn had told her. A basic no da. Although given if Sara were just alone she still might not of listened.
“What part of back the f--k off do you not understand?”
Sara’s eyes flicked back and forth between the two men, waiting to see what the other would say.
"I have a hard time simply backing off when people like you get any kind of power, you abuse it because you don't feel adequate enough to simply watch over these mutants, you know you have the power to cause them pain and you want them to know it." Quinn said looking the man straight in the eyes, he didn't even care about Sarah now, the fact that the government would hire people like this disgusted him, standards had really been lowered.
<"Ah! Wonderful! Now the guards are fighting, and ignoring us.">
Neena still refused to look at James; his voice she could ignore, mostly, but the sight of him might push her to do something stupid at the moment. Instead she used the interval to attempt to return to the laundry. She tried to catch Sara's eye and motion for her to try and do the same. However she also kept her ears open. She was interested to see who walked away from this verbal confrontation with less damage. That info could prove very useful in future plans.....

Out of the shadows of a nearby work building a pair of eyes seemed to suddenly blink into existence, they had not been there a moment before, Shahiel gazed at the confrontation in front of him and wondered if he should intervene. Never mind he was content to just watch, he would see on his next round. For you must understand Shahiel was rarely still in one place he was always on the move unless something caught his attention.
Neena felt eyes on her back. She turned just in time to catch a movement, like a shadow twitching. But no body. That was the second time she'd felt someone watching. She was not paranoid, so someone must have been there a moment before. But she had no idea who. Maybe one of the Stalker bots was making rounds while cloaked. Dismissing the anomaly for the time being, she continued to work, and listen to the argument progress.
Fawks smiled at the man’s insult. He really knew nothing about him. “Very good Mr psycho-analyst, very good,” he said with a sneer, “what a nice, eloquent and wonderfully strung together idea of what I’m like. Shame it’s all wrong.”
“You don’t know the first thing about me, so don’t even presume to guess. You have a problem with the staff, go tell it to the warden, but I think you’ll find that I’m a highly valued member.” He had spotted another flicker in the shadows, and yet somehow felt that it was a welcomed presence.
Neena had caught Sara’s attention. ~‘Yeah yeah yeah.’~ Sara thought. ~‘I’m coming.’~ Though after that shock she’d actually hoped to avoid getting near the water. At least until one or to guards had left.
Slowly, keeping her chin down, she back stepped and chose to take a path around the guard, walking a wide circle around fawks. Once just behind him she lifted her head slightly to make eye contact with Quinn. Her right index finger lifted and she tapped her nose, a smirk stretched across her lips on one side of her face, before she turned the tap into an itch.
Time to start laundry stuff again while the argument continues. Sara Dipped her hands back into the water and again began washing
Quinn knew he was being watched, but he didn't know who, so he decided to play it safe just in case. "I don't care about the warden, I don't care about how far your head his up his ass, and I really don't care about what kind of person you are, nor do I want to know. What I do care about is making sure this camp doesn't fall to shit because of guards beating the prisoners, so be careful and watch your back if you do it again, because I am not a very forgiving person."
Fawks leaned in close to Quinn and responded in a low and dangerous tone, “Neither am I.” Turning on his heel he walked away from the man, kicking Neena into the laundry pool on the way. He didn’t do it to get at Neena, but to prove a point to the man that he would not be intimidated.
Leaving he began to think about the movement he’d seen in the corner of his eye. Who was that? Whoever they where, he was determined to find out.
Despite the possible risk, Neena placed a hand on Sara's wrist as she stuck them in the water. She smiled and motioned with her head for the feline-featured girl to go back to the mangle. She wasn't sure why the bracelet had continued shocking her, but to Neena's eyes it appeared that being near the water wasn't wise for her. Neena would get used to the cold eventually.
To add emphasis, she reached out to take the other end of the garment Sara was washing, about the time one of the guards choose to depart. As he walked away, he kicked her. She probably could have dodged the blow, but for one reason or another her attention was diverted enough that she didn't. Thus she found herself tumbling headfirst into the water, letting go of the garment to avoid pulling Sara in too. She emerged from it in a sitting position in the shallow end, wet, shoulder-length hair slicked down over the front of her face in a 'Cousin IT' impersonation. Slowly and deliberately she pushed the hair out of one eye and pegged the back of the man's head with an deadpan glare.
<"Great. And in an hour I'll make Diana Ross's afro look like a cotton ball.....">
Sara lifted her head in Neena’s direction. It was true she had avoided doing the water thing but her reasoning was… kicking Neena into the pool. Sara reached out trying to help her up. Her eyes tracking fawks as he left, giving his back side a ‘if looks could kill’ look.
“Are you ok?” she asked Neena. Helping Neena up and to her feet, Sara took a dry sheet and pushed it around the other girl’s shoulders. “I wont get shocked again unless I have to heal again.” Sara said quietly, her voice going hardly higher then a whisper.
Neena snorted. "Yeah. Just checking to see if I can imitate a drowned rat," she quipped. "Well, I guess running for beauty queen for the day is out. But, as I'm sure dating is out of the question for a while, I'm not worried." She smiled and winked to show she was teasing. She gratefully accepted the dry sheet Sara cloaked her with.
“I wont get shocked again unless I have to heal again.”
"Now that's frustrating.... But then again, not much about this setup isn't frustrating."
With a deep sigh she replaced her glasses, which she managed to keep hold of. Fortunately they were mostly plastic, so the dunking had little effect. She smiled at Sara.
"Still, it's best you avoid the water, just in case. If your dead set on it, we can take shifts, but it would help my sanity.... Eh, let me reprhase that....." She paused and thought for a brief moment. Then, "It would give me a bit more peace of mind if you kept out of the water as much as possible. And ate."
She poked the girl in the side, gently, to show she'd noticed her sudden thinness.
“Alright, Shifts.” Sara said. They didn’t have to yack about who was going to be in the water all of the time. Shifts might make things go easier as well. Changing what their were doing and still keeping a pace.
"It would give me a bit more peace of mind if you kept out of the water as much as possible. And ate."
Sara’s face twitched farther into a frown. She ate,.. most of the time. In fact Sara was a very good eater, able to eat a thanks giving dinner in one sitting if she was in the right mood. “Call it a side effect,” She said jumping slightly at the poke of the finger. It actually found a rib. Not a surprising thing since the last time she ate was before the raid at sanctuary and she had taken on one stalker back there by herself. “but their food here smells funny.”
Quinn watched as the man left, making a mental note to watch out for him "You should probably go with your friend" he said to the other guard, he was going to help Neena, but he didn't want it to look suspicious. Apparently she didn't look quick to anger, which was a good sign, hopefully she would stay nice and calm, or else he might have to make things look more convincing to any watching guards.
OOC: I don't think Hades remembers the thread, so lets just say he left.
Quinn approached the two at the lake, looking at Neena he cleared his throat "Let's cut the shit, you don't like me, but it seems we need each other's help."
“Call it a side effect,” Sara replied. “But their food here smells funny.” Neena nodded, acknowledging the fact. She couldn't say anything about the taste, as she hadn't gotten a chance to taste it that day.
"Let's cut the shit, you don't like me, but it seems we need each other's help."
Neena's demeanor changed in an instant, as if an invisible switch had been flipped. "I need your help like I need a hole in the chest," she snapped. "Shove off." And she turned back to the washing.
