The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> "Down here...the ****ing spork. What do you care, anyway?"
The spork? Seyta knew there where shape-shifting mutants but a spork? "First, a spork is just weird. Second, I don't care except I don't want to see another mutant getting robbed." With that Seyta grabbed the spork-girl and her guitar and moved towards her violin case to pack her own instrument away. "So, until you turn back into your mediocre musical self, I'll keep your stuff with us."
Without knowing if the girl could see anything Seyta simply guessed the bowl/prongs where her head and slipped the spork into her pocket with the bowl end sticking out. Climbing the stairs out of the subway she looked round the street deciding her next move. "I suppose this counts as a kidnapping, but since you aren't able to physically do anything about it, deal. And look on the bright side, my apartment is probably a better place to be trapped then a random spork in a subway for of indifferent strangers."

"I default to spork when I'm over-emotional..." Paige grumbled. "But I've done everything from a wooden spoon to a beach-ball to a pair of boxer shorts..." The spork let out a few choice cuss-words as she was picked up, and at the mediocre comment, Paige let the stranger know where she could go and what she could do when she got there. The scene of course, drew a couple of stares. People arguing in the subway was nothing unusual; what was unusual was a spork raising hell.
Seyta guessed right, technically. But technically, in shift Paige had full radial vision. Not that she expected anyone to know that, nor could she explain it. "Whatever..." Paige grumbled from her place in a strange woman's pants. "Great...first you kick my ass now I'm stuck staring at yours for the next God-knows-how-long..." She wished she could shift back right now, make the girl's back pocket explode. But sadly, Paige's life wasn't that epic right now.
>> "...I'm stuck staring at yours for the next God-knows-how-long..."
"I could shove you in with that guitar of yours, otherwise deal with it. It's only a couple blocks." The variety of shaped the girl had used was, unusual if nothing else. More importantly though, was what Seyta planned to do once she got back to her apartment. Apparently the girl didn't know how ling she was going to stay shifted. Once she did turn back Seyta had no idea what was going to happen.
Of course two blocks gave time for some conversation, given her situation it was a safe bet that the girl would have no problems with Seyta's mutation. She might not be able to make great friends with the girl, but possibly someone who wasn't going to attack her first chance they got. Worth a try right? "So... can I get your name? Unless you want me to call you spork girl."

Paige grumbled, but didn't argue so much. If she were shoved in her guitar case, she'd never shift back...So back pocket it was. Great...now she was trying to have a conversation with a spork that was up close and personal with her butt. And against her will at that.
"Spork girl...reeeal original. You come up with that all by yourself? I'm impressed," she said sarcastically, then gave a sigh, giving up on the sarcasm. It really wasn't making her situation any better. "You can call me Paige."
Seyta ignored the sarcasm, she knew she deserved it. Also since she got a name it was an unspoken rule that she give hers. It also struck Seyta that Paige said she could see, at least in some respect since she knew what pocket she was put into. Perhaps a face to face conversation would do better. Shifting her grip on the instruments Seyta pulled Paige out of her pocket and carried her, bowl up at about eye level, as she walked. "My names Seyta."
A few thoughts slipped into her mind as she looked at Paige. Among them, the idea that a mutation like hers could be very helpful to the Order. Another caught her of guard, while a spork was odd to see just lying around it was easy to miss or ignore, something Seyta knew all to well.

Paige couldn't help but give a laugh as Seyta looked at her face to 'face.' "I'd say nice to meet you, but time will tell. And sadly, the odds aren't exactly in your favor," she said matter-of-factly.
"You know though, you can put me back in your pocket. I mean, it's not as weird to have people think you're talking to your self in public as it would be for you to be seen talking to a spork. Just saying. Eeeven if technically everyone else can hear me talking too." She didn't know why she decided to be nice there. After all, she didn't care. Well...she shouldn't have cared, right? Right?
>> "I'd say nice to meet you, but time will tell. And sadly, the odds aren't exactly in your favor."
Odd's weren't in her favor? Paige was a talking spork and she was threatening her? Strange as it was Seyta let it slide, it wasn't worth dealing with.
>> "...Just saying. Eeeven if technically everyone else can hear me talking too."
Seyta did her best to contain a laugh, what came out was a snorted giggle. "Two things Paige. One, what makes you think I care? What makes you think anyone else cares?" As they passed a bus stop she walked in front of it and, with the hand holding Paige, presented everyone waiting with her middle finger. "**** you all. All of you go **** off." The closest she got to a response was a grunt from one man that didn't even look up from his paper. She turned and continued walking as she explained what just happened to Paige. "This is my mutation Paige. I'm a psychic... anyone within ten feet of me is affected. Their brains force them to tune me out and ignore me. The effect varies in strength from person to person but mostly it is the same as being invisible."

Paige's pride took a serious blow by this point. There was no edge Paige had on Seyta. More confident, better at music, even had a more useful mutation. If only sporks could cry. Nope, she definitely wasn't going to be shifting back human any time soon. Then again, what did it matter, anyway?
"Fine..." was all she managed to say. "Just put me back in your pocket, anyway. I find it easier to wallow in my self-pity when I'm next to an ass-cheek," she grumbled, a mix of sarcasm and seriousness. The question was which one was truer.
>> "Fine... Just put me back in your pocket, anyway. I find it easier to wallow in my self-pity when I'm next to an ass-cheek."
Paige's voice was muffled, Seyta assumed from the shifted form, but the tone was clear enough to pick out. "Look, I'm holding you up 'cuz I want to. Besides, if i left you alone my mutation would push me out of your mind to." She stopped at a cross walk, her apartment building was just ahead of them now. Annoying Paige seemed to be what caused her to shift in the first place so it made sense to Seyta that keeping her annoyed would prevent her from shifting back. That would also keep the situation under Seyta's control. "To be honest I am a bit jealous of your mutation. You did hint at having at least some control over your abilities. So, present circumstances not counting, at least you can choose when to disappear."
She moved forwards again as the light changed and turned towards the apartments. She didn't exactly have a plan about what to do with Paige once they where home, or what to do once Paige returned to normal. Although, a shifter like Paige would have her uses in the right situations, Seyta would have to convince Paige to trust her. Something she wasn't exactly doing. If she did however, Lenna would be very interested in the new recruit.

Paige sighed, forcing herself to listen. She didn't think at this point that Seyta being pushed out of her mind was such a bad idea, but she was trying her best to be nice. Besides, most of the hostility was more than likely due to the immense blow the remnants of her pride took at the hands of the girl who now literally held Paige in the palm of her hand.
"Usually, I can. When over-emotional, I spork. If I try to shift but my mind is racing or I can't focus completely on my shift, I end up botching up...let's say a shirt, and getting a pair of underpants." She had to giggle at that. Soon, they turned towards some apartments. Having the radial vision was a cool thing, because she could see both Seyta's face and the landscape behind them.
>> "...I end up botching up...let's say a shirt, and getting a pair of underpants.
Seyta had to chuckle at the though of a pair of underwear being a person. The situations it could cause... "Still, at least you have some control. What I wouldn't give for an off switch some days." Making her way though the apartment building and up the stairs with the extra instrument was a bit awkward especially with a spork in one hand but she managed. "So, how long do you stay a spork? I mean, my couch isn't the most comfortable thing ever but its better than the floor or the counter if you will change back in the middle of the night or something."

"True...I mean, it's funny how mutations work sometimes, isn't it? Some of us can't get it to work the way we want it, and others of us can't make it stop working." As she made it to the apartment, Paige looked at her, sorta. As well as an eating utensil could have, anyway.
"I change back when my emotions calm down completely...I think it's getting pretty close if we just keep talking. But..." She paused, tone softening. "I never properly thanked you. You know, for taking care of me after that thrashing..." Heh.
>> "I never properly thanked you. You know, for taking care of me after that thrashing..."
Seyta had to do a bit of awkward juggling to key her keys out and open the door to her apartment. "You're welcome. I don't like leaving other mutants in helpless situations. Humans are too likely to take advantage of us." Setting the instruments down near the sofa she held Paige up and gave a shrug. "Anyway, this is home. I can just carry you with me or set you somewhere comfortable if you want."
The term open floor plan fit perfectly as the bedroom and bathroom were the only places not included in the main living area. Seyta of course for the first time in a while felt a bit self conscious. She actually realized just how mismatched the furniture was , the bar stools where new-ish, A scrap of plywood and some bricks made a coffee table between a plasma screen TV and a fake leather love seat. In her mind it was obvious just how much stuff Seyta stole on a regular basis.

Paige nodded, or...would have, if sporks had joints. She silently acknowledged Seyta's statement, understanding. "Yeah...I know how that can be. As much as I hate the term 'helpless' being used to describe me..." She sighed, thinking. "You can just set me down somewhere, and I'll shift back soon, I think. I gotta say though...you play the hell out of that violin," she commented, swallowing her pride enough to not only admit her defeat, but acknowledge Seyta's skill.
Inside, she still felt defeated, worthless. Like she wasn't good enough. She had respect for Seyta's kindness after the battle, but she had to make sure this wouldn't happen again. Somehow.
>> "I gotta say though...you play the hell out of that violin."
Seyta nodded and took a seat on the sofa, setting Paige down next to her. "Thanks, I do a lot of recording and such. As for feeling helpless, that's just something that happens to everyone. However..." She stretched putting her feet up on the coffee table as she though of the best way to open up to Paige. "There are ways, people and such, that can give you an edge with those kinds of situations."
The Order wasn't publicly known. So if Seyta wanted to convince Paige to join in then she needed to do so carefully without exposing her "second job" to the world at large. Paige seemed pessimistic enough to be convinced that there was a way to rightfully take power back by force. The question was, could Seyta find the right way to convince her of that?
