The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ty inched closer to her as she began to cry, and when she kissed him, he returned it. His hand traced up her spine, her shirt sliding up a little in the back with each little bit his hand slid.
"I won't leave again, I promise. I missed you just as much as you did me. I know I have a habit of leaving, but that's over. Done with." He kissed the top of her head as she lay it on his shoulder, and it didn't matter to him anymore that he was in his underwear.
"I know I still have to earn your trust back, but I plan to. Thanks for giving me another chance," he whispered.
There were too many emotions swimming through Tses' head. The tingling sensation from his touch, the fear of letting him close, the pain, all mingling inside her and creating her own personal storm. She listened to his words, the promise she'd heard before, watched break. I won't leave... The fear bubbled to the surface even as he said thank you, and that was all it took. Suddenly, the light took over and she fell straight through the bed to the floor below. A terrified kitten went flying out from where it was hiding, and a massive wave of terrified cussing resounded through the apartment.
"I ****in swear if I start falling through floors..." In the darkness she buried her face in her hands, shoulder stinging with pain from the impact.
Mischief meowed loudly in accusation from a perch back on the curtains.

Ty yelped as Tses suddenly fell through the bed. Several thoughts flew through his mind, the first of which being I hope that never happens during sex. But that was the only remotely happy thought that passed through. As she was on the floor under the bed, his mind raced back to the dream, and several days prior. First she was lying on the pavement, then she was slumped over in the metal folding chair of the interrogation room...
Slumped over on the table, sprawled out like she'd been...free falling or something. Lifeless. He felt tears sting his cheeks, and he curled up on the bed, cuddling with the random third pillow some hotels place on the beds. Sobs escaped him, but when he opened his eyes, he realized he was in the room. He took several shaky breaths. "Tses...? You okay?" he asked, his voice weak.
While Ty was having his own panic attack, Tses was struggling to keep her own fear in check. The darkness under the bed was cold and empty, and sparked more memories she didn't want. Her claustrophobia kicked in and she felt the light flickering and crawling along her arms as distress kicked in.
>>"You okay?"
As she pulled herself into the open, painfully knocking her bad shoulder into the dresser, she gasped for air and flopped onto her back, trying to keep her hands from shaking. "Fine, just...hope that doesn't become normal." there was an attempt at a joke in there, but it was smothered by the fear in her voice. The air was heavy with upset feelings. Mischief was sulking, Ty seemed rattled by something, and she was shaking to much to even think about crawling back to bed. Maybe it was time to call a surrender.

"You'll get control of it," Ty replied, still trying to calm down. "Mine took awhile, if you remember me randomly touching crap and seeing **** I wasn't exactly supposed to. Heck, I still wear gloves because I haven't gotten full control over that. Now we both have something else to master. Maybe after you're better, we can work on our new abilities together." He smiled down at her, pushing aside the thought that the way she was laying looked much like she did...he shook his head. No, no more thoughts of that. She was still alive, after all.
Indestructible, even.
"You want some help getting back in bed?" he offered, rolling over on his side.
Tses frowned slightly, but let herself nod. In many ways, this new power was a major ego killer for her. Her powers developed so long ago, she forgot what it was like to learn to control something. Sure, the glowing when she didn't want to thing was still annoying, but it wasn't quite as terrifying as falling through things. She looked at his gloves, and momentarily wondered if there was anything that could keep the light-her from sparking when she didn't want to. She doubted it, but it was still something to hope for, hang onto. "I guess. I just... this is going to get old fast if I don't at least get some idea of what's happening..." She looked down at her arms. Still skin, no light. She was at least somewhat calm now though. If the fear came back though...
She pushed it aside, and shook her head at Ty's question. "No, I got it, just give me a min though..." She awkwardly pushed herself to her feet then limped to the living area. After a few moments she managed to undo the arm bands and set them on the table. Without the fabric on her skin she felt a little better. Ty wasn't the only one thinking the room was feeling a little hotter. Flipping off the light that had been left on she let the light on her arms turn on momentarily as she walked back, then it snuffed out again as she curled up again next to him. This time there was no terrifying free fall.

"Heh. So will broadcasting my thoughts without really knowing when it happens. Though, I think I remember seeing red before I got sick. Maybe that's linked. Maybe when we train together you can help me figure out what happens?" he asked, using this topic to shove back the fear and bad thoughts. He had her back. And he was keeping her this time. End of story.
He wanted to help, but he let Tses be independent. She needed that right now. He reminded himself that she didn't like being babied, or helped. So he only would when absolutely necessary. He had to admit, the built in nite-light was kind of cool, and when she curled up next to him, he let his arm rest on her back again, his other hand finding the skin of her good arm. He loved how that felt, but soon pulled that hand away, the one holding her staying put. He kissed her forehead. "Ninight, Wisp," he whispered, trying out a new nickname.
Broadcasting thoughts did seem like it could end badly, Tses had to admit. She nodded slowly though as he asked if she could train with him. While she wasn't sure he could help much with her powers, she at least knew she could help with his. Even if it did result in headaches... "Just make sure you have plenty of ibuprofen. Your powers give a headache both directions." She remarked. It almost gave her a headache thinking about it. She was glad her powers mostly prevented pain right now.
As he pulled her close she relaxed, not tensing up at the contact on her skin this time. Then the kiss on the forehead and the unexpected nick-name made her smile, and she settled back to sleep. "Night Fish."

"Yeah, I actually quit using the stuff. I was kinda...over-using it, but I think you understand why. Especially now."
----------
When sunlight streamed in through the window, Ty was already up and dressed. On the nightstand, on a paper saucer, was a sausage-bacon-egg-and-cheese biscuit and a glass of orange juice. Nothing fancy, but they were living in a hotel room. Ty had finished his, and was pouring another glass of orange juice from the mini-fridge.
Tses was not a morning person. At least, not on mornings like this. While Ty was up and dressed when Tses stirred the first thing she did was make a gesture to tell the evil death orb of light in the sky what she thought of it, then burrowed deeper under the covers. A bit later, the smells of food started to waft through the fabric, and Tses slowly peeked from the covers, blinking at the plate on the nightstand. Cute. Mornings were still awful.
"How do you function at this hour..." She muttered, hand snatching the biscuit and dragging it under the covers where she could eat it in darkness. Dark light. Darn mornings.
Food was good though... if mornings had to exist, there should always be food.

"I don't. Trust me, I found myself opening my eyes and saw the clock, but I wanted to do this for you. Because...it's been too long since I could. Though you probably don't want to kiss me right now. I taste like a pot of coffee."
He chuckled at her actions, then took a breath. What Tses didn't realize was that Ty had put her medicine in the biscuit. Nothing personal or mean, he just thought it'd be easier and less of a blow to her pride.
"When you get done though, there's a few loose ends we need to figure out how to tie," he said, sitting on the couch.
Tses stuck out her tongue at Ty with all the maturity of a three year old and finished wolfing down her biscuit. She said a few choice words to his coffee pot and wiggled to the edge of the bed where she could drink her orange juice. Half sitting, half laying down, she was stubbornly keeping her head covered from the sunlight. Her hair had fallen out of it's pigtails and was sticking up at different angles: not the most glamorous morning look.
As he continued talking though she shot him a suspicious glance, setting down the empty cup and peering at him from under her tent of covers. "That sounds boring and possibly dangerous." She remarked slowly. She wondered if it was too late to roll over and go back to sleep. There was a disgruntled purr from the other end of the bed. Mischief agreed with her.

"Tiresome, possibly. But not dangerous. At least...house hunting shouldn't be that bad, right?" he said jokingly. "All jokes aside, this place isn't exactly the best. It's not that I'm running out of money, trust me. It's just that...well..." He sighed and looked at her.
"I'm gonna be blunt here. Hotels are temporary. I was thinking maybe we need to find someplace more...permanent. Somewhere to call home. Somewhere I don't have to steal hot-plates and toaster ovens to make breakfast. Somewhere where they don't charge for taking the towels. And, being the wonderful home-man that I am...I don't have a ****ing clue." He gave her a goofy grin.
Tses and Ty didn't have a normal relationship, which was painful evident when the conversation of 'let's do some house hunting' brought the danger of a possible fire fight. Ty seemed to be learning though. She had swallowed her food, wasn't drinking, so the only thing she could really choke on was air. After a few slow blinks, the blanket that was resting on her head drifted through her body and landed somewhere around her waist before she caught herself and shoved it aside, body taking back it's normal form. The furrow in her brow didn't go away so quickly though.
"House...hunting..." She repeated, watching him carefully. It was still early, and she blamed her still sluggish attitude on the time. Thankfully, she didn't realize what he did with her medicine. She was more patient, sure, but there was enough of old Tses left that she wouldn't deny the risk of a flying mug. At least her new powers drained her energy as well. It would be hard to throw things for long when each shift to light form felt like a mile run.
"Permanent... Are you sure that's a good idea? What if your boss decides he still wants me dead or something... or what if the cops decide they want me in jail....or want you in jail... permanent... We aren't exactly stable people." She remarked finally. It was hard to put words together this early. He was giving a grin but she wasn't smiling back. Fear trickled around in her mind, but it wasn't enough to send her through the furniture at least. There were obvious worries: what if they fought again, what if he left... What if she blew up the house... Would they even have a 'house'? It was New York, most spaces were lofts or apartments anyway...
Too early for thinking. She blamed the evil orb in the sky. Ty and it planned this together. It was like a trap on a New Moon. No way out.

"Well, probably more like apartment hunting," Ty answered. "At this point, I don't know if there's a such thing as a good idea. This is an awkward subject I know, but you and me need a more stable living environment, even if we're not stable as people." Ty took a breath, standing up and stretching.
"We'll have to take it as it comes. At some point I need to man up and show my face at Sanctuary again, but until then, we'll have to roll with the punches." He smiled as he looked at her.
"This is probably going to sound really weird, but of all the times I've run for my life, the best death-defying moments have you in them."
