The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tses didn't move as Ty set a hand on her shoulder, keeping her forehead against her legs. Blood continued to run down her bad arm, gradually staining yet another shirt, and working it's way down to the arm bands that had seen better days. "I give up, Ty. I just royally give up on fricken everything... Just shoo--"shoot me now...She caught herself halfway through the sentence, biting her tongue quickly as ghost flickers of pain went through her arm. The light flickered and faded and the numbness vanished.
"I can't spent another few weeks or whatever like this, Ty, I can't. I'm used to toughing out a day or so during a new moon, but being stuck indoors is ...draining." While most people would enjoy laying around and taking it easy for awhile, it was clear Tses didn't share those sorts of sentiments. Claustrophobic, this was the worst possibly punishment for her. It was a good thing her energy was so low. She half-wondered if she would have caused even more damage if she had the strength.

"--I'd rather not do that again," Ty replied quickly to cut her off. He bit his lip as he thought; he was aware of the situation, but he wasn't sure what to do about it. On the one hand, she needed to rest. On the other, he didn't want her going stark-crazy from cabin fever either.
"You need to get out some. But how will that work in your current condition? I mean...you're already bleeding just from day to day in here." He let out a sigh. "If you have any ideas, I'm open. Heck, I'm all for getting out of here for a spell too, but what I'm not for is leaving your hurt ass here." He gave her a smile, then offered his hand.
Ty presented a question she had no immediate answer to. As much as she wanted to get outside, he had a point. Even climbing up to the roof or something like she might normally do seemed doomed for failure with her lack of coordination right now. She was used to doing backflips and walking on roofs... being stuck like this was maddening.
"Maybe we could...take a taxi somewhere. Movie or something that wouldn't require much walking? I don't know...just...out of this room for a little bit. It might not be the best for recovering long term, but I'm going to go crawling down a fire escape if I don't get air soon." She admitted. She accepted his hand and got to her feet, forcing herself to stand steady. The mirror's splintered reflection mocked her as she glanced at it. She reached for the bandages again, this time managing to grab them.

Ty gave a warm smile. squeezing her hand lightly. "Actually....that sounds like a pretty good idea. You're out of the house, but not putting too much strain on yourself. The question is what you'd want to go watch," he said, walking away to finish straightening up. Throwing some paper in the trash, he saw the broken handle of the coffee cup. Putting his glove back on, he picked it up and walked over to her, holding out the handle. "Before we go...do me a favor?" he asked.
Since he was touching the handle when he tried using his power, maybe it worked. He did see red and feel a little queasy afterwards. "Grab this?" If it worked, she'd see a few several second clips of him stealing wallets. He flashed her a small smile.
Tses did not expect Ty to agree with her idea, and blinked slightly in surprise at the unforeseen success. But then another question. She rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly and then went back to trying to bandage her shoulder. "I...really don't know anything that's playing right now. I'm sure there is something that isn't a overly gooey chick flick..." She looked over as he held out the coffee cup handle, and stared at it suspiciously.
>>"Grab this?"
"Ok... but if you break my head I'll kill you... the rest of me is damaged enough..." She grumbled, and carefully touched the handle. The result was almost instantaneous, and the images flashed in front of her eyes.
They were almost immediately followed by a headache. "You're a sloppy pick-pocket." She said and stuck out her tongue, handing him the mug handle back. Mischief mewed from the curtains, expression still slightly timid after her recent explosive outbreak. She frowned slightly at the animal and sighed. "Yeah, I know, I'm sorry. I'm all fun until things start blowing up huh... Ty's known that for awhile though." She said to the kitten, glancing back over at Ty.

Ty chuckled, thinking. "Yeah, no chick flicks. Maybe we can find another one of those bloody slasher flicks or something," he finally replied with a wink. "I'm not trying to break your head, just see if I can do that thing again." He had to laugh when she talked to the kitten, who refused to leave her post on the curtain-rod.
"Hey, this sloppy pickpocket and his dirty-work is what's paying for this room, food, the cab ride, the movie..." He stuck his tongue out as he trashed the handle.
Leading her outside, he made sure the room was secure before hailing the cab. The ride to the theater was quiet, so he paid the driver and stepped out at the theater, glancing over the list of movies that were playing.
Tses had to smile at the idea of a bloody slasher flick. As long as there were no bugs in it, she was fine. She never was afraid of bugs growing up, but her apprehension towards them had grown a bit in the past few days. She rolled her eyes at Ty's defense and sighed, admitting defeat for the moment.
"You may be keeping us in the hotel and everything, but I can still pick-pocket circles around you on my worst day." Tses smirked. There was almost something playful in her voice for a moment. It felt like things before they split up.
Her gut twisted slightly at the thought. She couldn't keep thinking that way... What if he left as soon as she was better? What if he was just guilty? She glanced at the door slightly, and as they left her thoughts kept turning.
Limping to a cap was somewhat painful, but not unbearable. The air outside was a relief though after being in the room for so many days. Oh, the toxic air of New York... she didn't know how she lived without all the car fumes and smells of street vendors... Sometimes, being a street kid made you appreciate things normal people missed. Being cooped up indoors wasn't her idea of being well off in the end.
>>"Hmmm...anything strike your fancy?"
Tses looked at the list of movies, and nothing really stood out. An adventure film with a promise of dragons, a kids movie... "I'm not really picky. So long as it's not something with subtitles." She joked slightly. Although there was a foreign film on the list.

Ty snorted. "We'll have to see about then, won't we?" he taunted lightly. For a moment, it felt like before. Before he left, before he dumped her. Just...before. Everything...
But that thought soon left him. She'd never really take him back. She was just hanging around because she didn't have a choice. Once she got better, he'd wake up alone again. He hoped not, but...he just had that feeling. Why would she stay with him if given another option?
He glanced over the list. Lame, boring, kiddy...foreign. "I like reading, but that's not why I watch a movie. No subtitles. Hmm..."
Finally he saw one. "How bout this? Action, explosions, violence, a hint of a romantic line, but nothing too cheesy..."
Action, explosions, violence... that didn't sound so bad. Tses found herself nodding in agreement and deciding that sounded the best.. "We could try that one. You need to get a decent sized popcorn though." She added as a side note. Not that that was really relevant to what movie they chose, but she was also distracted by the smells coming from the snack bar. She was starving.
"Never did really finish learning to read... Should probably get around to it sometime..." Tses said quietly as they moved towards the box office to get their tickets. "Guess there is a bunch of things I should get around to. Haven't really done much since... Well, haven't really done much." She felt herself awkwardly tilting towards conversations she worried would end badly. She wished she had popcorn already. She needed something to keep her mouth shut.

"Got it," was Ty's simple answer as he took her hand and led her to the box office. "Two for The Thin Blue Line," he stated, handing the lady the money in exchange for the tickets.
"Well, I've been doing too much, it seems. I'm actually thankful for the time to relax and wind down. And better yet, I get to be with you." Okay, that last cheesy bit slipped out, and Ty spent the trip from the box office to the concession stand in awkward silence.
After getting the largest popcorn they had and two sodas, the walk to the theater was equally silent. Picking a couple of seats in the middle row, the movie soon started.
It actually had a good storyline, and Ty was really into it. It was about a cop that brought in the wrong guy in a murder that turned out to be a complex smuggling ring. The cop then had to partner with the guy he brought in to bring them down. Trust was nowhere to be found between the two of them, until an ambush forced the convict to fight for the cop, who returned the favor.
As the shooting got more intense, Ty reached into the popcorn bucket between him and Tses, eyes glued on the screen.
While some moments made Tses feel like nothing had changed between her and Ty, others made her feel like an eternity had gone past. She did nothing with her life, but it sounded like he had been up to everything. Time to relax... she had nothing but time to relax. She missed the cheesy comment, sadly, mind thinking about how hopeless she must look. Once a thief, always a thief. She wondered if Ty was growing out of it at least...
While Ty walked to the theater, Tses mostly hobbled, leg starting to sting even from the short distances they were moving. By the time she sat down she was relieved to be sitting again, and she greedily dug into the popcorn. About half a bucket later and some complex storyline later, Tses had her hand in the bucket, and Ty's hand met hers.
Her face turned pink and she froze, popcorn still clenched in her fingers.

Ty felt his gloved hand meet hers, and he found himself giving her hand a light squeeze before letting go and returning to the popcorn--since he felt a handful of popcorn between their hands anyway. He obviously interrupted Tses grabbing some, and memory told him it was a bad idea to prolong that one.
Awhile later, the movie had slowed down. There was a misunderstanding, and the two main characters got into a heated argument, with both men telling his unlikely partner to go to hell, putting it lightly. So, the two men were split up, doing their own thing for awhile. The story followed the ex-convict into a shady-looking house, and Ty's hand snuck over to grab Tses's gently in his.
Suddenly, Ty's face turned beet red as the next scene wasn't exactly safe for work, and Ty found himself gripping Tses's hand as he looked away from the screen. Well, this was awkward...
Tses' brain was spinning. He didn't just touch her hand, he held her hand, but then he let go and she was just left with popcorn. Popcorn wasn't bad, but... She shook it off. She was over thinking this. Maybe he hadn't meant for it to be that romantic. Maybe it was just friendly. She continued eating nervously, only half following the movie at that point. Popcorn....just focus on popcorn...
Her cheeks warmed up as his hand met hers again. This time, there wasn't any food between them. She glanced over out of the corner of her eye, then back at the movie, brain overloaded by her emotions. He was holding her hand... If he didn't care, why was he holding her hand? Did he still care? He shot her though. That seems like a not caring thing to do. But then he'd been staying helping her through it these past few days... maybe he did still care after all. Care... Even that word could mean a thousand different things. Did he still have feelings for her? Did he get over her? Did he care like a friend? Like a boyfriend. She was frozen, staring at the movie trying to make sense of it.
Then the scene took a turn that left her face even redder, and Ty's grip tightened.
Wait, what was THAT supposed to mean? She looked at him, not letting go, then looked back at the screen.
Things were a lot easier when she could just blow up her problems...

The scene was over, and Ty relaxed considerably, now only lightly holding her hand. His mind was racing as he tried to follow the movie again. It really was a good movie, he just couldn't focus; he kept glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. He thought his heart would beat out of his chest.
The cop and the convict both ended up tracking down the main villain's hideout and ran into each other outside, which was followed by a conversation. Every now and then Ty picked up on bits and pieces.
"We need to do this together," the ex-con spoke first. "How do I know I can trust you?" "Look. You've been a total **** to me ever since we started this. But I told you I had your back. I got your back. I need to know if you got mine."
Without a word, the cop opened the door and they slipped inside, which was followed by a massive shoot-out. The cop took a bullet and went down, leading to the con unloading as he continued through the warehouse. Now out of bullets, the con found himself staring down the barrel of the antagonist's gun. There was a shot, and the con blinked, checking himself only to see the main villain fall. Turning around, he saw the cop.
"Yeah. I got your back." At this moment, Ty turned to look at Tses, still holding her hand. Heart still racing. He then decided there was only one way to know for sure if there was anything still between the two or not.
As the two heroes on screen rode off together into the sunset, Ty did something for old time's sake. Maybe they could be current times too, but only time would tell.In an act that was either really brave or really stupid, he leaned in, letting his lips meet hers.
By now the credits were rolling. Ty hoped after this that the credits would be the only thing rolling. Oh well, if she killed him he'd at least be able to know for sure.
The movie's plotline was starting to hit an uncanny parallel Tses wasn't sure she was comfortable with. As gunfire rang out, Tses couldn't quite prevent the flinch that moved through her, and her shoulder seemed to remember how bad it was beaten up. Bullet shots always seemed more glamorous in the movies though. No one dealt with things like bones and torn muscles... slap a bandage on it for awhile, you can be good to go. Falling off the fire escape afterwards probably didn't help her much though...
Ty was looking at her. She lost track of the movie somewhere along the cheesy lines of having each other's back or something like that. Yeah, like that happened. But how come she still kept caring even when things got screwed up and Ty wasn't there when she needed him? Sure, he was there now, but did it make up for everything else? Not quite... He was redeeming himself little by little though, winning her over, making her think. All the while she kept finding herself still helplessly where she'd fallen for him, despite all the crap they put each other through.
Then he kissed her, and something happened. No punches, no glares, no resisting. No irritation he'd be so forward after he shot her. Jerk.
She kissed him back, hand tightening around his.
The only thing she was afraid of at this point was letting go of him once again. Caring never hurt that much...
