The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Female security had a unique role to play in the club scene. Not only was a woman handy to have around when it was a woman making a scene, but people tended to believe that Noel extended genuine compassion and understanding where the 250lb meat slab that was man handling them did not.
The brunette pushed a cold water bottle into the hands of a man who was red in the face and flailed against one of those unyielding bricks of a traditional bouncer. "Hey, we're just doing our jobs. Have a free water bottle, let's go outside and cool down, okay?" Noel tugged on the guy's sleeve and nodded to the big guy who let the rabble go.
Compassion was not Noel's first choice, but diffusion a situation was always better. She could see the wisdom in that now as this overly macho douchebag deflated in front of her.
"You're really kicking me out?"
"Unwarranted grabbing of other guests is a pretty big no-no."
The guy was sloppy drunk but could still put one foot in front of another so Noel escorted him to the side door marked EMERGENCY. It was discreet and monitored by her company so she knew they'd send backup if she didn't come back.
Once outside she dragged him to the curb and helped him grab a cab. He could have used a good kick in the teeth, but she wanted to avoid spending the rest of her evening in jail.
Noel brushed her hands off to erase the sleezy feeling and sighed into the night and her breath rose in a large plume from her lips. The cool air was a welcome break from the thumping and grinding.
This kind of place wasn't Tarin's usual scene. The bass was too heavy, the girls were too...girlish, and his wife and his son were out of the country. There was potential business here though, something for the PI firm that the Medium was hoping to set up. Things hadn't worked out with the Labs, but the new head honcho had been more gracious than Tarin could have hoped. He was still on salary.
Unfortunately, that made him feel like he owned the woman something, and that wasn't going to fly forever. Tarin sighed and took a sip of his beer, he was fooling himself if he thought he'd ever be able to pull in the kind of cash he was making at the labs to do virtually nothing. Still...there was something to be said about being one's own person and all that jazz.
A small commotion broke out, and Tarin Brooks watched as one of the bouncers, a woman, talked the guy down and walked him outside. Unfortunately it was the douche he was supposed to be tailing...apparently he'd been lying about his night time escapades and meeting up with someone that was not his wife. Taking the last swig from his beer bottle, Tarin pushed away from the bar and followed the two outside...only he'd taken too long. There weren't two anymore.
Cursing under his breath, Tarin made his way over to the bouncer, "Any idea where the guy you talked out here went?" he asked.
Something tickled at the back of Noel's mind. She wasn't aware that she had spaced out and started picking at the lose edge of a memory until some guy snuck up on her. Air tight security she was not.
"Don't know, don't care." That was official company policy speaking. If Noel had a personal guess? Jail. For tonight she had just read off of his driver's license and hoped he was too sloppy to do anything besides stumble into bed.
The memorymancer had a colossal headache coming on. Consciously she tried to avoid thinking too hard about things her mind had patched over. It was just moments like these when she wasn't paying attention that got her in brain trouble.
Hands on hips, Noel turned to assess the potential new threat. It was time to go back to work.
"Can I help you?"
Crazy hair, physique that said he skippeded the gym more than he participated there, and... Well, he just didn't look like the type to bump and grind.
