Kate pulled off her jacket with more force then was even remotely necessary and shoved it into the closet slamming the door behind it. She looked at him in her fridge and rolled her eyes. What did he think he was looking for? If it was more beer he would be very disappointed. Kate didn’t keep things like that in her apartment. Sure Hanna would occasionally have something in a bottle but that was cider Kate had thought. She wasn’t’ exactly sure she didn’t’ partake in the stuff after all.
She moved across the room and up the stairs into her bedroom leaving Sam to do as he pleased. She pulled off each piece of jewelry and took off her shoes to exchange them for a warm pair of slippers. The house was set at a nice 100 and she hoped that Sam wasn’t too hot. She may have been mad at him but she still cared a great deal for the idiot. She knew he didn’t like the hot just as much as she didn’t like the cold.
She was only gone for a few minuets before she emerged still wearing her quarter sleeved navy blue sweater and a cute little mustard yellow dress with matching blue stockings. Sitting on the couch she crossed her legs and waited for Sam to say something, anything to defend himself. He really wasn’t a bad teacher when he was around to teach her. She however was mad. She was angry with him for leaving her alone to figure this stupid change in her powers all by herself. He had always been there for her expect for this time when she actually needed him. Her life was never perfect but he had made it a little better then left her alone to let it fall right back down again.
Though, as he spoke and she learned the truth her expression changed from one of anger to one of confusion. She hadn’t know any of that. She hadn’t known he did any of that. Why had no one told her any of this was going on? She had been at the mansion a number of times over the past year that Sam seemed to not be around. Maybe it was less then that but it seemed like a year. She jumped out of her seat as he made his way to the door. “SAM WAIT.” She practically ran across the room in an attempt to grab his arm and stop him. She probably shouldn’t considering her lack of control over her own body temperature though she wasn’t thinking about that right now.
“I didn’t… I didn’t know any of that. Are you okay? Did they do anything to you? I mean other then the mind control. Is there something I can do?” It was funny how she had gone to thinking about herself and her mutation to putting all her focus on him. She should have been concerned about the students he had taken and the X’s he had hurt, but they weren’t in front of her right now. He was and she cared far more for him then she did about any nameless persons he may have hurt.

Sam stopped when she told him to wait. He didn’t know what he was expecting but these was a friend so out of respect for the friendship they had he stopped and turned as she hopped the couch and kicked up the heat. He never really cared much for the heat she produce when she wasn’t paying attention. His mutation countered hers in his immediate area. His breath became visible and he shrugged. ”Are you a beer?” Sam asked in a serious tone as he stepped back towards her before turning towards her.
”I don’t know, as good as I can be. Played a lot of mind games with me.” Sam said trying to explain hoping he wasn’t showing any real emotion. ”Kids are fine, my head and reputation however are ****ed” Sam said with a shrug. ”Hard to come back from.” Sam said trying to explain with a shrug. He normally wouldn’t explain this but it was Kate so he decided in his hung over state he’d let his information slide to Kate.
”You were there briefly.” Sam said pointing to his head, ”I had a birthday and all of my friends were there. This was ten years into the future mind you. I had two kids and a wife. I was happy.” Sam grabbed his faced and rubbed it with a single hand before running it through his hair. ”At least I thought I was. It was how Amanda controlled and manipulated me.” Sam said trying to play it off like there was no lasting damage.
”I almost killed my friends and teammates and in a period of a month of them disovering what had happened and them rescuing me I lost almost all my students so.” Sam said shrugging again, ”Unless you can reveres time and help me forget everything.” he didn’t want to forget as much as it pained him. ”Not much you can do for me.”
