The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Blood Is Thicker Than Water [Serena, Wonderland Plot]
The sun hung low in the sky, peeking out from behind ominous looking red clouds. The landscape progressively became stranger as Charlotte ventured deeper into the dreamlike Central Park. At least, that's what she thought it resembled. The trees became more twisted, stretching out over the path, creating a sort of dome with their branches. Sunbeams fought to peek through the branches, creating a spotted pattern of light on the floor below.
Strange noises came from unseen creatures, creatures the blonde was sure she didn't want to run into. With each step she took, she started to get a feeling in the pit of her stomach. Something was telling her that this wasn't a dream, it was actually happening. But she shook it off. "It's just a dream." she muttered to herself. If this was reality, she was in trouble, so she denied it altogether.
She reached a clearing, and what lay before her was a vast lake of some purple, glowing substance. A faint floral scent lingered in the air. Her olfactory senses were going crazy. Why did it smell so familiar? Then it dawned on her. She brought part of her cape to her nose and sniffed. It had the same saccharine-flower smell that was in the area. She assumed it was the lake emitting the smell, and approached it to investigate. What made her stop, however, was a figure off to her left. From her vantage point, she could make out the curves of a female, one who wore a blood-red outfit similar to her own, save for the cloak.
A lump formed in Charlotte's throat as she took a few steps towards the figure. She began wringing her hands as she stopped several feet from the girl. She didn't want to startle her. "Ex..excuse me?" she sputtered, glancing quickly over to the purple lake. If it was composed of water, which she hoped, she would be able to defend herself if this stranger decided to attack. But she hoped it wouldn't come to that. "You wouldn't happen to know what's going on, do you?"
Serena stood in the clearing, inspecting her surroundings. Everything was off. The trees didn't look right, there was a weird aroma in the air, the water was glowing, and purple.
The flowers were twisted and... different somehow. But most of all, Serena's outfit left her feeling a little startled, she was now wearing a strange dress from the Alice in Wonderland fairy tail, but it appeared to be composed of blood.
But then when Serena ran her fingers on it, it was clearly made of a silk like material. Something was very, very strange with this place.
There was the occasional strange animal sound in the distance, Serena wondered where exactly she was, and what had happened to the child she had chased to this place, and the strange rabbit which had tricked her into getting dragged into this weird, weird place.
As Serena was about to leave, a voice from behind startled her. She jumped. Then quickly spun round to the voice to see a woman dressed much like her, except she was slightly older and her dress was the traditional blue, instead of the blood red colour like Serena's.
"Um... Hi. And I'm just trying to work that out myself." Serena responded, slightly startled.
Charlotte felt her muscles relaxed. She hadn't even realized she was tensed up, but approaching a stranger in a twisted world was unsettling, and she needed to be on her toes. "Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that's confused." she responded, a nervous chuckle somehow finding its way out of her mouth. Her icy blue eyes scanned the girl's outfit, and then glanced down at her own. "Nice outfit." she added, flashing a friendly smile.
The blonde took a few steps closer to the girl, to get a better look at her. She couldn't be more than a year or two younger than her. "I'm Charlotte, by the way." She rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet, the cape swaying slowly behind her.
"I thought this was a dream, but I'm not so sure anymore..." she stated, her voice trailed off as her brow furrowed. She needed to figure out what was going on. She took a deep breath, trying to sort her thoughts, and the floral scent of the sparkling purple water filled her nose. Charlotte sneezed and shook her head, glancing over at the lake.
"How did you get here?" she queried, turning her attention back to the girl. "I fell through a mirror..or got pulled. I think." She still wasn't sure. The throbbing in her head had almost completely subsided, but it flared up whenever she thought about how she ended up in this twisted world.
Serena noted the girl scanning her clothing. She did the same in return. Were... Were they wearing the same dress? No, there was a difference in colour. What was this strange place. She felt a slight flush of red to her face at the compliment. "You too."
Serena smiled as the slightly older woman gave her name. "It's a pleasure to meet you, even under such strange circumstances, Charlotte. My name is Serena." All of the etiqqutte with which she normally spoke clearly showing through in her introduction.
Serena listened to the woman speak, and then responded with her own story. "Well I was shopping in the city, then I saw a kid running away from his crippled mother, chasing a rabbit, so I followed, trying to get him to stop. And then They vanished... And my reflection kinda pulled me through the lake and I woke up here..."
It didn't sound as crazy as it did in her head. No, it did. It was crazy, this was completely and utterly crazy. This twisted, strange place.
