The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Charlotte leaned over and gave him a peck on the cheek. She wasn't sure if it was the alcohol, or the fact that they were going to be living together and inevitably something was going to happen. She chalked it up to fate. "Goodnight, Daniel." she whispered, scooping up Shadow in her arms as she stood up.
"I'll see you in the morning." she called over her shoulder as she made her way down the hallway. She stepped into her room and gently dropped the cat onto her bed. She turned to her closet and looked at her options as she stripped off her work uniform, tossing it into the corner. After a few minutes, she decided on a baggy black t-shirt and a pair of boxers. She fell back onto her bed, her legs still dangling off the edge.
Shadow climbed onto her chest and nuzzled into the shirt, letting out a small 'meow'. The blonde closed her eyes and let out a sigh. She wondered how long Daniel would be her guest.
Daniel smiled as her lips touched his cheek and she stood and collected the cat with her. He watched her walk towards her bedroom. "Goodnight Charlotte." He yawned once again and laid down onto the couch after removing his shoes. He didn't have anything to change into because he didn't expect to be staying with someone and he was going to head back to his apartment quickly and pick up a few things but he assumed it'd still be there in the morning. His laid for a while and eventually his eyes grew heavy and he fell asleep.
He awoke the next morning. The sun seeming far too bright as it entered the room. He looked around, at first not knowing where he was but he remembered as he looked around and checked his attire. Not a spot of blood to be seen. Either he wasn't very messy or he'd been too drunk to do anything. He slid his feet around and stood up, he felt dizzy for a moment but steadied himself. Daniel didn't want to wake Charlotte with anything and he knew she drank quite a bit so he rubbed his eyes and flicked on the TV, turning down the volume slightly and watched the morning news.
Charlotte woke the same way she fell asleep- on her back, with her legs still hanging over the side of the bed. She laid with her eyes closed for a few minutes, waiting for her migraine to dissipate. She didn't think she drank as much as she did last night, but the throbbing in her head said otherwise. Eventually her eyes opened, and she gave them a few minutes to adjust to the light that seeped in from under her door. She heard a low hum coming from the living room, and she assumed Daniel figured out how to work the tv.
Wrapping a blanket around her, she exited her bedroom and squinted as she was greeted by the light that filled the living room. She probably should invest in some curtains. She wandered into the kitchen and filled a small glass with water, dropping in two ice-cubes. She made a mental note to search for the aspirin at some point. She flashed her guest a weak smile and curled into a ball on the free spot on the couch, sipping on her water.
"How did you sleep?" she eventually asked, after her throat wasn't so dry. She let her gaze wander to him, and then up to the tv. She knew she looked like crap. She could feel the bags under her eyes, but she didn't care. This was her punishment for being up so late.
Daniel's attention was turned away from the TV as Charlotte sauntered in, now he knew it wasn't gentlemanly to do it but he couldn't help but laugh at her. Sure, his head killed and every moment was pain but seeing it on someone else was funny. It just was. He stretched slightly but it kinda hurt to move. He smiled at her a bit and responded to her question. "Pretty good, all things considered." The Doctor gazed at the TV, not much was going on really.
He stood up and made his way to the kitchen. He needed coffee, he wasn't a big drinker of coffee but he felt now was a good time. He searched for a bit finding the coffee rather quickly as he began making himself a cup. He called to Charlotte from the kitchen. "Hey Charlotte, I've got to go pick up some things from my apartment real quick at some point just letting you know if..Uh..If you wanna join me or anything but if you've got plans then I'm okay with going myself." Daniel put a hand to his face and smacked himself in the head. He literally face-palmed. He was an idiot. "Like..You know. If you've got a hot date planned or whatever I'll just be gone and I'll be back with some of my stuff just to warn you incase you plan on..bringing anyone back or whatever." He was still talking. Why was he still talking. He should really shut up. He just stopped talking as he returned with a mug of warm sweet coffee. His face was a bright red from just generally being an idiot.
Charlotte rubbed at her eyes, trying to shake the sleep out. She didn't now how Daniel was up and moving. It as a struggle for her to even get out of bed. "When..when would you go get stuff?" she mumbled, the blanket finding its way over her head. The room was too bright, and she couldn't deal with it anymore.
Whether it was the hangover or her still being half-asleep, the blonde was confused as to what her guest what trying to convey. Was he giving her permission to go on a date? She sipped her water. Even if she was to go on a date, she wouldn't bring them back to the apartment unless she absolutely had to. It would be rude to her date and to Daniel.
"I don't have any plans. As long as it's not in the next hour or two, I can go with you." she said with a chuckle.
Daniel shrugged as he sat down carefully with his coffee, trying not to spill it on himself and make him look like even more of an idiot but it's not like she would see with that blanket over her head. Taking a sip he thought a moment before answering her question. "I'm in no rush really. Whenever your head stops thumping." He laughed and drunk some more coffee, it was helping but what kind of medical professional would he be if he couldn't function with a hangover?
Daniel laughed slightly to himself as a thought occurred to him. "Spend the night at a girl's apartment and then bring her back to my place. My mother warned me about girls like you Charlotte." When in truth, he wasn't very good at the whole 'one night stand' thing. It always felt a little..off to him but he could pretend for a while couldn't he?
"I just have to get some aspirin..at some point." she mumbled. She would have done it then, but the couch was so comfortable, and moving just didn't sound very enjoyable. Charlotte uncovered her face and stared at the TV. There was nothing interesting on, so she shifted her position and turned to look at Daniel. When had he gotten coffee? She was seriously out of it still.
The blonde snickered. "I am definitely not the girl you'd want to bring home to mom, Daniel. I'm pretty sure my own mom wouldn't be happy with me." she said with a wink. She was kidding about her mother, but the first part was truth. Most, if not all, of the mothers she had met didn't care for her. With a shrug, she stood up and ambled into the kitchen, pouring her own cup of coffee. She neglected to put any sugar or creamer in it. If she wanted her headache to go away, she'd have to pull out all the stops.
Daniel scoffed as if he was appalled with her answer. "Excuse me Charlotte. I am going to have to disagree with you there....Your mother would be very pleased, I'm a Doctor I'll have you know. Who doesn't want their daughter to date a Doctor?" A smirk played on his lips as he winked at her. To be perfectly honest he doubted his mother would care who he was dating aslong as he was happy and his father would likely be the same if not a little more...approving of Charlotte because of her natural good looks.
Daniel watched her go off to make herself a coffee and he couldn't help but watch her, what else was there to do? The TV didn't offer any entertainment and it was little more than background noise at this point, barely heard over their...conversation.
Charlotte shook her head and smiled, sipping her coffee. Her mother would be very happy if she were dating a doctor. Wait..
"Oh so we're dating now?" she teased, shooting him a raised eyebrow. "That's news to me." She crossed the room and plopped back on the couch, re-wrapping herself in the blanket. "You're here one night and we're already dating. You move fast, Dr. Daniel." she nudged him with her elbow and gave him a wink.
She reached for the remote and began flipping through the channels. If the TV was on, there might as well be something interesting. News? No. Discovery Channel? No. Food Network? Absolutely. The blonde became temporarily mesmerized by the chef on screen who was making some dish with pasta and lots of cheese.
"I love this channel." she thought out loud. She could feel herself salivating.
Daniel smirked at her. "Didn't I tell you? Yeah, we're dating completely official. No more flirting with customers and inviting them back here to stay the night, it'd make me look bad." He looked up at the TV as she searched for the remote. He then heard her comment about him moving fast and he shook his head. "If I moved fast Miss Charlotte, I wouldn't of been sleeping on the couch last night would I?" He saw her change the channel to the food network and he braced himself for the onslaught of deliciousness that was going to hit him.
He watched the TV Chef talking about how to make the dish he was demonstrating and she shook his head. It was impossible. It never looks as good in real life as it does on TV. That was a fact, a cold hard fact.
"Awhhh, but that's the best part!" she faked a whine, sticking out her bottom lip at Daniel. "You're no fun." she mumbled as she sipped her coffee, glancing back at the television. He was adding bacon to the dish. Everything's better with bacon. That's a law of the universe. Suddenly Charlotte realized how hungry she was. She'd make a food run when they went to his apartment.
"Just because you move fast doesn't mean I'd let you in my bed, Dr. Daniel." she retorted, flashing a sly smile.
Daniel sighed at her and shook his head. "I don't have to be fun. I'm a Doctor. I'm the guy who replaces your liver should you ruin it. He suddenly sat up straighter and pushed out his chest slightly putting on an air of professionalism. With an entirely straight face as if he was really scolding her he spoke again. "That's Dr. Booker to you Miss." Daniel looked up at the screen and noticed the addition of bacon. Bacon was good. Really good. He had a slight craving for bacon now.
Charlotte smiled and nudged Daniel lightly with her shoulder. "If my liver does fail, at least I have a handsome doctor." she responded. Who wouldn't want an attractive doctor performing surgery on them?
Her attention turned back to the television, the chef on tv putting the final touches on his meal. The blonde heard a faint rumble from her stomach, and her face flushed. "I'm really hungry." she murmured, shooting her visitor a side glance.
She closed her eyes and mentally went through her pantry. There was nothing as far as she could remember that would make an adequate breakfast. If she wanted food, she'd have to deal with the outside world, something she had been hoping to avoid.
Handsome? She thought he was handsome? Now real men don't blush and real men don't giggle. Luckily he was only half real man and therefore his face only went red slightly which might not of even been noticed. (It was the most notable thing in the world). "Okay! If you're hungry let's go to my apartment and then we'll get something to eat! Yes? Daniel crawled from the couch and stood, stretching. His whole body tensing as he yawned. The light didn't seem so bright right now and he felt like maybe he could function as a human being. The Doctor took a deep breath and it caught him, the slightly sweaty smell that you get from sleeping in all of your clothes which he didn't really have much of a choice about. "Hey Charlotte, would you mind if I jumped into your shower quick? Well obviously not in your shower while you're in it. Not that I wouldn't want to it's just that...I'll shut up now.
Okay so he wasn't the best with words but he got his point across right? Right?!
A smirk formed on Charlotte's lips as she saw color rise to her guest's face. Standing with him, she planted a kiss on his cheek. "Doctor, I think you might be blushing." she teased, squeezing his arm lightly. "And of course. A shower sounds great. There should be some towels under the bathroom sink." She stepped to the side so Daniel could get through.
"The water gets hot really fast." the blonde warned as she walked into the kitchen to refill her coffee cup. She loved hot showers. Scalding, turn-your-skin-bright-red showers. The water was no problem for her, but past guests have been caught off guard by the temperature.
