The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

An envelope arrived at the sanctuary, with the name Ty Fisher sloppily written in the front. It was sealed, and held for him to read, but a midst paperwork and other tasks it kept getting pushed to the side, undelivered. By the time it would reach the person it was addressed to, it was impossible to say how long it's been there. Maybe just hours, maybe a day. The words inside were like a child's writing, tilting too far one way than the next, most words spelled out phonetically, even though the tone was adult.
There was a box, setting off to the side, that had come with it. Inside were a few items, including a rather sad looking stuffed tiger and a jacket. The box was sealed about as clumsily as the letter had been. Like that piece of paper, though, it had more meaning than it appeared.
To: Ty
I've done a lot of thinkin lately. Could have, should have. Most of it came back to you. Part of me wished I'd never met you. But I realized, that was blaming you for too much.
I never knew how to read, always thought I managed sort of well without it. But then I got a note from you, and realized I didn't know what it said.
Truth is, that's how I felt most of the time I was around you. You were a piece of paper with a lot of words, but I just wasn't good at understanding them. We weren't speaking the same language. I thought with time maybe I could learn. But that was assuming I could just force you to wait. I got mad, felt hurt, but maybe I should have tried harder.
Maybe I should have tried harder to write back.
I suck at writing. But, even a few sloppy words on paper can mean something I guess. Even though I could never read the notes you wrote, the meaning was still there. Maybe, that works both ways.
Truth is, I'm sorry. For everything. Sorry I never tried harder to understand. Sorry I made things difficult. Sorry I made you forget me. And sorry for what happens now.
Sometimes, ghosts are just meant to move on and stop haunting a world they don't belong in.

It had been only a few hours since the letter arrived that Ty got it. Since he'd gotten Noel's package that one time, he'd made it a point to regularly check for mail, even though he rarely got anything. Today, a very curious--yet crudely wrapped--package and letter had his name on it. The letter was...well, visually it looked like a kindergartener had written it, but each word was so well chosen and almost poetic, even though he didn't have a clue what the writer was talking about. Tses...that had to be the girl from the park.
Ty sat on his bed, looking it over, and was joined by a little black fluffball, who rubbed her head against his hand. Setting the letter aside, he opened the package, petting the kitten as both pairs of eyes peered into the box. It looked like an oddly put together package of random assorted items. Earrings, a necklace, a tiger that looked much like his own, and a jacket.
Ty knew what he had to do, even if he was scared of what it might lead to. Pulling his glove off, he calmed his mind and grabbed the tiger. Nothing. For whatever reason, his power wouldn't work on it...So, he grabbed the jacket, and the result made him flinch, Mischief's claws digging into his leg as the headache came on.
He remembered everything now...well, more as a spectator, but he knew what he'd forgotten, and why he'd forgotten. Now, he saw both sides of the story, but mostly hers. He was such a jerk to her at times. He could never understand what she'd been through, because he'd never been there. But now he had somewhat of an idea. Quickly, the redhead pulled out his phone, scrolling through the contacts. Past Chloe, and Jacob, Kenzi, Noel, and Regan. Tses...
He hit Send, and the phone rang. "Tses? It's Ty...I...I remember now, and...I was stupid..."
The message would never reach the moonlight powered mutant, however. While the phone rang, and an answering machine picked up, the message would fall on electronic ears only. Back at her apartment, it was hard to believe someone had lived there only a day before. Everything was gone: food, clothes, her few possessions. Strangely enough, the room next door was almost as empty. The kind cat lady that used to reside there was gone, as were the cats and belongings. The place still smelled strongly of ammonia, but few people were around to complain.
The phone had ended up with most of the food items and unwanted clothing in a trash bag, out on the curb in front of the building. Meanwhile, the female mutant had carried what she could fit in a backpack and started the trip towards the bus station. That had been earlier in the morning, and her passing through the city was no more eventful than footsteps in the sand, washed away by the incoming tide.

The voicemail, it wasn't enough. Something seemed...off. He felt a knot in his throat and his heart dropped to the pit of his stomach. His eyes scanned back over the letter, biting his lip.
"Meeeew!" Ty was stirred from this by the little black kitten, hungry for attention. Standing up, he cuddled the attention-hungry cat, and set her down before throwing the jacket over his shoulder and pocketing his phone.
He made his way to her apartment, but from just his acquired memories, it took him a heap longer than it would have before. Finally, after having missed it three times, and walked into the wrong building by mistake, he found it. He made his way up each flight of stairs until he finally found the room. 66.
But it was...empty. Just the old furniture. And next door seemed just as empty, though he was almost certain he should have heard cats? Maybe?
The young man shook his head, putting on the jacket and tightening his gloves as he leaned against the wall. This was almost unreal...
At the front desk downstairs, the manager of the apartment sifted through paperwork. Two empty rooms this week, added to that one vacancy after the riots... he had a lot on his mind to sort through. The blond had been a good patron, and while she had the occasional temper tantrum, she made sure everyone's rent was up to date and kept the building rather well guarded. Few people wanted to mess with a mutant like her, and most of the people living here learned to leave her alone and let her be. When she said she was leaving, he had asked where she planned on going. The answer had been strange.
'Away. Maybe back to Chicago, maybe somewhere else. Just no use staying here.'
It seemed like there was more to it than that, though he didn't ask what. He had too much to do, after all. Too much to hear the last remark as she walked out the door.
'Gone...that's where I'll go... I'll just be gone...'
The trash hit the sidewalk, she went across town, and stopped at a coffee shop for a drink. She didn't really care for coffee, but she got a smoothie instead. She sat in a corner booth and thought about a time when she had considered settling down, considered changing her life, trying something new.
She left without finishing the smoothie. It sat melted in the cafe where it had been left.

Ty sighed, rubbing his temples as the headache from before reminded the ginger pickpocket that it was there. She didn't seem to have left a trace. Nothing he could use to track her. Hell, maybe that was what she wanted.
He flicked a stray tear from his face as he turned and went back downstairs, then glanced to the front desk. But he sighed, walking right by and giving up. Outside, he pulled out his phone in an attempt to call her again. But when it rang...he heard it!
However, his face dropped when he saw it was in a trash bag. Shaking his head, he pulled off his glove and grabbed the bag in question.
He saw her bagging everything up, throwing the bag to the curb, and walking. It wasn't much, but it worked. So, he walked in the direction he'd seen her walk. But after awhile, he looked around. Trash bags can only see so far, and though he knew this part of town, he didn't know where she'd gone to. Plopping down on a bench, he propped his head on his palms, planning his next move.
The bench wasn't too far from the cafe Tses had stopped at, and the barista had finally noticed the abandoned smoothie. Shaking her head, she moved to pick up the drink, and glanced around the cafe. She hadn't seen the blond go into the bathroom, and she wasn't sitting anywhere close. It was mostly empty in the shop, so she wandered out the door and glanced around. She didn't see a blond girl anywhere, and glanced down at the drink. Maybe she was done...
Noticing the kid on the bench in front of the store, she considered asking him about the girl. But he seemed to have enough problems as it was. She leaned against the door, and put a hand on her hip, giving him a rueful smile. "You look like you're having a crappy day. You loose someone too?" She mused. She glanced at the smoothie, then over at the trashcan. "I never understand why someone would by a $7 drink and just leave it... Hopefully that blond doesn't hate me for tossing this..." She remarked aloud, and plopped the drink in the trash, started back towards the counter.

Ty looked over at the cafe's barista. "Yeah...that's all I seem to be good at. Losing people." Suddenly, he perked up. Blonde? That had to be--wait it probably wasn't. There were how many blondes in New York? Well, it was worth a try at least.
Taking off his glove, he grabbed the cup out of the trash. Cafe, smoothie, and out the door, continuing the way she'd been going. Dropping the cup back in the trash, the redhead took off down the sidewalk, trying to follow her exact path. He had to find her before it was too late. Even if he didn't fully remember her...he had to make it right. Or try to. Ty felt he needed this one more chance.
Down the sidewalk, to the subway. At least, that had been the direction she was heading. In the path up ahead, the trail took a curious turn, a backpack laying abandoned on the sidewalk next to the road. It wasn't something she would have forgotten or left behind like the smoothie. It was something that someone would drop if they were pulled into a vehicle and dropped it to put up a fight.
The streets were right now, so it was doubtful someone would have seen anything. Then again, how many people would consider the likeliest witnesses to be things like backpacks or smoothie cups?
The bag was a computer bag more than anything else. The same bag Tses got on Valentine's day moments before they broke up. Inside were items like clothes, a tiara for some odd reason, a second stuffed tiger, this one from build-a-bear, a couple books she really never managed to read... But Alice in Wonderland was bookmarked now. The computer was wedged in there between the clothing so at least it was cushioned. Nothing was busted when it was thrown to the ground.

Ty briskly walked down the sidewalk, knowing he'd made it this far clearly due to luck and only partially his mutation. Which...well the headaches could be a real pain. But he'd have to muscle past that, especially now that he was recovering from his aspirin addiction.
The backpack on the ground caught his eye. It looked...oddly familiar, yet somehow...not. Kneeling down, he grabbed it with his bare hand.
Valentine's day. The fight. The breakup. Everything after he'd left her that that bag had been a part of, he saw... Opening it, he saw the tiger. But one that he hadn't given her. Someone else...and while they were dating even.
Suddenly, anger welled up in him and he pulled out his still barely-used 13-inch stiletto, flipping open the blade and holding it up to the stuffed animal, hand quivering. But with a sigh, he put the blade away and stuffed the unharmed--though slightly shaken--stuffed animal into the bag, focusing on the problem at hand. She was taken into a vehicle...and against her will.
Suddenly, he broke into a run, having seen everything from her assailants to the car's license plate. His head throbbed, his heart raced inside his throat, or so it seemed, and he felt like this was all his fault.
He had to get there in time. He'd seen in his visions how he'd come through countless times before. The red-head just hoped that his luck would hold out. It had to...
Something was wrong about the whole situation. Tses had never been someone to go down without a fight. Even when she was apprehended by police, she had a way of leaving a trail of destruction when someone messed with her. But not this time. The fight, if anything, looked halfhearted.
There was nothing to loose. She had already lost it all.
The car traveled through Manhattan, going to the east side and a back district. Away from the subway, away from the apartment. It moved lazily as if it knew just how defeated their captive was. Busted lip, the taste of blood lingering in her mouth, she stared out the window and shut her eyes.
Gone...One way or the other, she would be gone.
"We heard what you did to Kystler. Caused quite a bit of trouble with the power vacuum you created. Took a while to track down who was the one who did it, but trail led back to you. Tses, isn't it? You're a hard kid to trace, and then you start leaving town when we finally get here. what happened? Getting too cozy for you?"
Tses stared out the window, and didn't say a word. She watched the traffic lights go past, then shut her eyes.
Slinging the backpack over his shoulder, the redhead trudged on. He'd been walking so long he lost track. His head was pounding, and he was running out of options, and time. His hope was slowly dwindling away. What were the odds of finding her? By the time he did, she'd probably be dead anyway.
And yet...he didn't turn around. He didn't go home. He didn't stop walking. He didn't care; he just knew he had to find her. So, he pressed on, even though the day was dwindling away. Even though doubt was hovering over him. Even though he felt like his brain was about to explode out of his skull.
None of that mattered to him. He remembered part of the vision, where he took care of her. Told her they'd still be friends. Well...friends don't let friends die.
Ty had been about half an hour behind Tses' trail before the car took her. Once in the vehicle though, that time frame continued to increase. A few minutes in a car could be a few hours on foot, and by the time they stopped, Ty would be trailing on the vapors of the trail. Not that Tses knew anyone was following. This was just a delay, a bump in the road. Whatever happened, happened. She didn't care anymore.
Shoved out of the vehicle, she stepped into the building. It wasn't your stereotypical warehouse district. The downstairs were filled with workers on computers, then they hit the elevator and it started rising towards the penthouse. She had only been here once, when she first started learning basic hacking skills. She was still a street kid, but she liked to think she had grown since then. As the door chimed open, a hand pushed her forward and she slouched down the hallway until they moved into a closed off room.
"Tses, nice of you to join us. I see the boys treat you well." A slim figure said, lounged behind the desk in front of her. Tses glared at the figure and looked away, grumbling at the voice.
"I see you've stepped into Kystler's shoes easy enough." She remarked in a low growl.
The figure's hands subtly clenched, but the smile didn't falter. "I see you cut to the chase like normal. So I'll get to the point. You had information when you left us. Information we need again. Before you picked up Kystler's side project you were hacking into a network, and retrieved a few codes. Knowing you, you still have them. You're going to tell us them, and then go on your marry little way. Clear?"
Tses stuck her tongue out, and pivoted her slim frame away. "Find your own codes. I don't work for anyone anymore."
A fist made contact with her cheek and she could feel a cut form on the inside of her mouth. She put her chin up, eyes glaring determinedly forward. If anything, her expression was daring him to test her. The clock on the wall seemed frozen.
It would be hours before the figure on foot got any closer.

Ty knew it was a lost cause if he stayed on foot. So, he scouted out cars as he walked. Seeing a good one, he put his palm on it, and in the mangle of memories, saw what he was looking for. Hopping in, he popped open the panel and hotwired it, then sped down the road.
Following hunches and the advice of inanimate objects was such a pain in the back of his head. But he wasn't losing her and he sure as hell wasn't giving up. He was gaining time now, but...what was the use.
A few minutes after reaching Manhattan, he stopped the car and hopped out. He'd lost her trail...again. Icy blue eyes scanned his surroundings, looking for something out of the ordinary, but nothing too old. He was sure his brain couldn't take too much more of this.
The argument lasted for what felt like forever. Most of the time there was yelling, a few punches were thrown, but nothing serious. The clock continued onward, time dragged by. And then there was a scuffle. That was all it could really be considered at that point. A few explosives, a well aimed punch, then a blow winded the tempermental female and sent her crumpling back to the ground. The desk the man had been seated at was splinters, a few shards sticking in his legs and arms like tiny needles. Rage filled his face as blood stained his clothes.
"Get rid of her. I never want to see her face again." He snarled darkly. The information he wanted seemed to matter little now. Anger had taken hold and he was determined to exact his revenge.
Perhaps, in a way, that was what Tses had wanted.
She back down the elevator, back into the car. This time, her hands were twisty tied behind her back. The car was low on fuel and struggled to start, but eventually it was making its way down the street and towards the ocean. It was like a bad mafia movie as the car stopped and they directed her towards a blocked off pier. She wondered if there were security cameras around here. Then again, why would they drag anyone here if they knew they'd get caught?
"If you say please, we'll shoot you before we throw you in." Smirked one of the guards. Tses just glared at them and wriggled her hands to give a rude gesture. a punch swept towards her face and she only partially dodged it, knocked flat against the wooden dock.
