The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Luck was once again on his side as he saw someone almost familiar being shoved into a car. Tensing and biting back his horrible migraine, he followed at a safe distance, seeing where they went then parking a ways off and sneaking to the pier.
He knew it was her, but...he was outmatched, outnumbered, and to top it all off his little self-made scavenger hunt was making his head hurt like all hell. But no, he couldn't let them get away with this. Couldn't let Tses die...
An explosion rattled the dock and blonde mutant gave one last defiant defense against her captors. The back of her wrists were cut from resisting the bindings that were meant to keep her powers in check, and it was only enough to knock one guard backwards. She didn't see the other vehicle pull up, and didn't hear anything other than the scuffle she got into with the second guard.
She did hear the gun fire though, and she looked down, watching red stain her t-shirt against her side. Her eyes raised, dizziness starting to settle in.
She thought she saw familiar red hair. She figured at that point, she was just imagining things as she fell backwards off the side of the pier into the water.

No time to think. In an instant, the young redhead was to his feet, running up behind the first guard and sinking his 13-inch stiletto into his back and grabbing his gun as he went down. Bullets rang through the air and Ty felt the rush of Adrenaline as a bullet whizzed right by his ear.
The other two guards fell; Ty's marks weren't clean, and it definitely wasn't a 'one shot, one kill,' but a kill was a kill. Then, he dove into the water, which was thankfully only shoulder height, and dragged the blonde up to dry land and falling to the ground with her in his arms.
He realized he'd been hit, having taken a grazing shot or two to his right arm. That, mixed with the pain of his head had taken a toll. He barely had time to put his knife away before the darkness settled in and he finally fell unconscious, Tses still in his arms, the way she used to be after something like this.
Tses expected dying to be more...final. Some sort of resolution, some sort of exclamation point. As she felt the water close in over her head, her body sinking, and water filling her nose and mouth, she thought she would feel relieved. But she wasn't. She felt cheated. She felt like like had dealt her the wrong cards, cards that were impossible to play with. Maybe she never wanted this. Maybe she just wanted a new start. If there was a way to erase the past, start again, she wondered if she would have taken it. She was fairly certain she would have taken it.
Then everything faded and she only distantly felt someone pulling her back towards the surface.
The shadows of the night, are unleashed again. Where their greed begins the end is near. A morbid hunger for blood, lies in their cold black eyes They've come to take our lives away....
A cough rattled Tses's lungs as air tried to force its way back into her throat. She gasped heavily as she spat out the ocean water, the sting of salt mingling with blood in her mouth. She tried to move, and pain stung her side. Someone's arm was still around her. She turned slightly, trying to make out the figure.
She didn't believe who she saw. She didn't want to. She shut her eyes and felt tears mixing with the water. Nothing made sense anymore. She didn't want him to be here. But she did. She was glad she was ok, but she wasn't. It could have just been over, could have just been done.

The darkness faded into something else. Ty could hear laughing as he was 'attacked' by a chihuahua. Teasing, joking, running from cops. He once again felt the fear he'd felt when he'd committed his first kill, even if it was an accident. The sense of danger that drove him, that kept him coming back to a girl who could be as sweet as a peach, or as cuddly as a porcupine...
He felt the pain all over again, the stress that came with it, and he again relived the day he threw it all away. Like a movie he was forced to watch, the memories played in his head over and over again.
Icy blue eyes rolled open, bloodshot, tired blue eyes. He groaned, his arms tightening around her before quickly loosening their grip and he came to with another groan. The pain in his arm coupled with the buzzing pain of his head made him wish he could just fall back into unconsciousness. Then again, he didn't.
Either way, he was forced to face the same reality.
Tses slowly sat up, hand pressed against her injured side. On the dock, none of the guards were moving. At least that gave her time to sort out what she was feeling. She glanced at Ty, then slowly away back out at the water. She coughed more water free from her lungs, and wiped the blood from her mouth.
"You shouldn't be here..." She said softly. There was something empty sounding to the words. She wasn't angry. All the anger had faded and now she just felt busted up with no way to piece herself back together. She stared out across the water, uncertain if she was still crying or if that was just the water still on her face. "I....I don't know why....I..." She couldn't breathe. Maybe they shot out her lungs. Maybe they shot out her heart. Neither seemed to be working properly now.

"Maybe not...but I am..." Ty said groggily, but just as sweetly and sincerely as he could. "I remembered...tried to call and...nothing. So I tracked you down. Didn't plan on saving you, killing, or abusing my power, but I couldn't leave you like that..." He took a breath, grunting as he sat up.
"I caused you so much trouble...I was selfish.I wanted to understand, to help...but I couldn't because I haven't been where you are. Haven't feel what you felt. Sorry doesn't cut it in this case, but...my apology is all I have to offer..."
Tses listened to what he said, and stared at her knees more intently. She was pretty sure she was was bleeding to death. Her heart seemed like it was trying to make up for the lost blood because it kept strumming faster. She glanced at him, and wasn't sure she was looking at the pick-pocket she met being chased by a dog. She wasn't sure he was the guy who helped her when she lost her memories. She wasn't even sure it was the person who dumped her. He seemed different. And maybe, in a way, she was different too. She didn't feel angry.
She didn't know what she felt. Sad, perhaps. "You're sorry?" She repeated, feeling disoriented with disbelief. Why would he be sorry? What would have changed?
She was still bleeding ot death. It had to be that. None of this was real. It couldn't be.

Ty nodded weakly. "The things I touched...gave me my memories back, in a sense. They showed me your side of the story, not mine. I wanted you to be something you weren't. And I was mad because you didn't change the way I wanted you to. And in the end I pushed you away...I ruined the good we could have had. The jacket and your bag are over there, behind that crate," he said as he pointed, then lay back down as the world spun around him.
"I like to think we coulda made it. That everything woulda been perfect. But life ain't a fairy tale. And I was stupid and immature to do what I did to you. But sorry doesn't change it. Nothing can change it. Which is why I tried to forget. But that didn't change it...it made things worse. All we can do is press on. I'm done running from my past, from my problems. So, I had to talk to you..."
Tses listened, even though she wasn't sure she really believed what she was hearing. She had already given up, let go. She didn't know how all of it could come back now. She felt like it was too little, too late. She felt lost. She felt lost without any sense of direction.
"Nothing makes sense anymore..." Was the response that worked it's way from her mouth. "M....Meggy passed away this week. Just...fell asleep and never woke up. I guess I knew she'd never be around forever. but then she was gone, and I...there was no one. No one to talk to, one one to turn to. I realized I have been trying to fit in to a world I don't belong in. I guess you can say sorry if you want. But I don't really know if there is anything to feel sorry for. You should have let me stay forgotten. I was never good as a girlfriend, never good as a memory...."
She felt dizzy, and she could only imagine he must feel similar. She glanced back at the vehicles and wondered if they could manage to get out of here. Maybe they'd both bleed to death. Isn't that how the story of Romeo and Juliet really went?

Ty noticed she was still bound, so he moved, slowly, and went to untying her. Now, it was his turn to listen.
"I noticed," he answered softly, leaning against the wall. "When you didn't answer your phone, I went by your apartment. When I saw the one next to yours empty..." he trailed off.
"No." His voice was firm now. "I shouldn't have. I should have chosen to remember you. Like you did me. Maybe you think you were never good enough. That's your thoughts, your opinion. What if I said you were? What if I said I chose to remember you the same way I chose to forget? Look, I'm not telling you to change your mind or anything. I can't do that." Ty paused, rubbing his head.
"But, for me to chase you halfway across New York City based on what I got from a letter, a trash bag, an old smoothie, and your backpack...well, that's gotta say something, right?" He flashed a weak smile.
Tses looked at him as he spoke. She never was someone who really made eye contact with people. It made her nervous and made her feel like she was telling people more than she wanted. But she let herself watch him this time, trying to read what was there. His words felt genuine, and she felt that ache in her gut resurface, the one that never really went away. She wanted things to go back to how they were. Or maybe, just go back to how the good times were. But he didn't really remember. Not all the way. All he had were vapors of memories of the times they had.
It was like trying to re-build things from the ground up. He came, he chased her, but she tried to calm the sadness welling when she started realizing maybe his feelings were going to be just ghosts too. "Maybe....Maybe we can just start over... See what happens. Maybe we don't need to make things how they were, because maybe that wasn't really working. But...I don't think that doesn't mean we can't try." She said slowly, somewhat hopefully.

Ty nodded, biting his lip a little as he walked over, grabbing the jacket and her bag and offering the latter out to her. "Yeah...maybe. How they work didn't work...how they have been doesn't seem to have worked...what have we got to lose?" he asked, shrugging lightly.
His feelings may have been just ghosts, but...were they? Would 'ghosts' lead him to risk his life and well-being for someone he didn't fully remember? "I'd be willing to try anything," he finally murmured.
Tses flinched as she got to her feet, and accepted the backpack, slinging it over her shoulder. She took hesitant steps in the general direction of the vehicles, each movement sending a spike of pain across her side. But it felt like just a distraction right now. She was still listening. Processing. Thinking.
"We should....we should probably find some first aid supplies..." She finally said, and glanced at his injuries, then back at her own. At least they were alive though. She wasn't sure she really felt that way yet, but there was a flicker, a flame. She was holding onto something, waiting to see what would happen.
Ty nodded, groggily making his way to his stolen car and popping open the trunk, then the glove compartment, and pulling out a first aid kit. Opening it, he found the basic things you'd find in any first aid kit.
"Well, this seems to be what we have to work with. And if I go back to that one hospital, I'll get arrested," he murmured, going over his assets. He leaned against the car, rubbing his head before reluctantly pulling out a bottle of aspirin from the box and popping a couple.
