The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He had to be honest Sanctuary was impressive, and from the sounds of all the facility's it had well equipped. and the fact that many people here had been through what he had reassured him that this place was right. That being said he knew he couldn't move yet he would need to wait until he could get his things and get out of the Mansion.
"It's good to know some people can relate, and unfortunately I can't stay yet but soon." He said as he set off to follow Aura. As he followed her he noticed that she had turned on her mutation, and having seen what it could do that made him slightly uncomfortable, giving him a feel that they where going to come under attack or something worse. "So is there any particular reason you have gone pink? or is it just because you can?" He said with a small laugh. He knew that he wouldn't be able to enjoy the experience if he was worrying about being attacked, so he decided to clarify why she was getting ready.
"I mean its cool if its just because you can, like personally I find mine fun to use just if not careful I burn things." He added to help get the point across that he didn't mind her using it, and hopefully to stop her getting annoyed at him or misunderstanding him.
"I was raised to believe our mutations are as much a part of us an an arm or leg. I tend to use mine whenever it is not likely to get my shot or hunted by the MRC. " she replied. The question was not unusual and truthfully within sanctuary she tended to turn her Aura on without thinking much about it. Still it only then occurred to her why he might have asked.
"Sanctuary is not dangerous, though their are some accidents every now and then as you might expect from such a place. We had a girl who could explode take out the kitchen" she mentioned only wondering if that was the best thing to mention to a new perspective resident.
"The more we use our powers the better we are with them and the better we can defend ourselves." she continued, as they entered the kitchen area, which was large spacious and clearly far above what a homeless shelter should have.
"Oh and Sanctuary is open twenty four hours a day, so you can come and go whenever. Stay when you want or can and if you need help moving i can help there, not personally of course, but i can help" she said knowing if she went back to the mansion it was unlikely to be a good experience, for anyone involved.

The kitchen area was quite large, and judging by the golden doors the rest of the place would be just as nice, "So I take it there is a place to practice our powers? or is it just go into the city?" He asked once she had explained about Sanctuary not being dangerous. It would make sense to have a place to practice but at the same time the city had its upsides.
"I haven't got that much stuff, only like a backpacks worth it that. Pushing it is a suitcase." He said when she explained that she could indirectly help him move in, it did pose a few questions as to why she couldn't help him directly but he had a good idea.
The fact that he could come and go at anytime definitely was reassuring and the general mood of the place seemed quite nice, well more in tune with what he was looking for in a place. All in all he was really considering moving in pretty soon but only when he had finished a few more things.
"Yes, their is, i have spent a lot of time there" she said. It was one of her favorite room's in sanctuary. "While Sanctuary does not mind how you use your powers in the city, it does ask that you don't bring trouble directly to the front door. A littile discretion can be good." she said while sanctuary housed a large number of Mutants who hated humanity, Aura also knew dragging a corpse in the front door with the police watching would mean they would have to respond. Blood baths on the front porch were not good.
As they moved from the kicthen, Aura took Leon down to the sub basement. Half of it was order secret but they would not be going close to that part at all. The doors slid open as she entered and their was a large metal area. In the back could be seen Robot looking thing's as well as other equipment. "The robot's are programmable, and can emulate a wide verity of people and mutants and scanarios." she said with a happy smile.
"I am guilty of more then most, Murder, theft, destruction of property, Bodily mutilation, Arson, stealing from the local zoo, resisting arrest, Killing police officers and other thing's, but still they welcome me here" she said her voice never breaking from her happy tone.

This place was shaping up to be better than he thought it would be, most of the rooms visited already where good and the one they now stood in was really spiking his interest. The robots at the back of the room in particular was the main focus of his curiosity, and posed a few questions and formed a few ideas in his head.
"Well it makes sense to not get the cops knocking every other day, not that they would be around long with your record." He said with a smile, he seemed to be getting more at ease as he walked around the place. As though he was reading a really controversial book and found that it wasn't that bad, just like he was walking with a murderer and finding out that she wasn't evil or bad just...misunderstood by the majority.
"So about the robots. Do they like have a shut off point or will they break you if you're not careful?" He asked deciding that it would be better to know if he was going to spend some time down here in the future.
"They are normally set with safety precautions that prevent death and major injuries. While Sanctuary does have a medical staff on hand as well, just in case anything does happen. Their good at what they do but it's always better not to need them" she said casually. She missed the Unicorn Mutant's power to heal but other mutant personal there were good at what they did. It was just in Aura's experience if she needed them the injury was probably pretty bad.
"Also as you may or may not know, their are several mutant's in this city whose power cancels out other's powers. One of these Null's lives at the Xavier Mansion. A nice enough lady but it hard to be comfortable near her" she said recalling the Null known as Mama T. Aura despised any situation she could not use her powers in.
"and as we encountered earlier you have your gang members and Human supremacists as well. Their has also been a rise in the number of vigilante type characters roaming the alleyways as well. Their are also Human's who have taken the M drug, which gives human mutant like powers for short periods. Some anti Mutant groups will use M to even the playing field." she said not sure how much he had learned about the city and the peoples within.

"As long as they won't rip me apart if I miss something" He said when she confirmed that the robots did have safety protocols. And having people in the building who can fix you up is always a bonus, he didn't think that he would need to see them often as he is normally quite good at avoiding damage, But sometimes he slips up and that's when he could need someone.
The information about the different kinds of people in the city was interesting, and the part about this drug called M both concerned him and made him very interested. "By the sounds of it the city's the place to be if your looking for action" He said wondering what it would be like to meet someone on M. He was sure that it would be weird and wonderful at the same time as it would be a human with temporary mutant powers, but then it wouldn't be much different than meeting a mutant.
"Speaking of action, know any places or ways to blow off some steam? cos like gangs and bikers are really really easy, and when its that easy it loses all the fun." He said curious if she knew anywhere that would pose a bit more of a challenge than the normal back alley gang.
" I agree entirely, Humans as a whole are a disappointing hunt, mostly. Still short of finding a fellow mutant to dance with, your best bet is probably finding a Human supremacist group, who uses M. Though then their's no telling what your getting into. M powers like our own vary widely though a human always get's the same power. " she said considering his question. SHe was surprised, in the old days she knew her first thought would have been to find the largest number of anti-mutant humans and kill them. Had she grown cautious or had the city's danger level really risen that much? She would have rarely in the old days even cared if the cops showed up, but now she was considering how to have their fun and avoid them.
"However, i am also pretty hard to simply shoot, how are you against gun's? she asked trying to better understand his power, sos he knew the amount of danger he could handle. Aura's aura made her more resistant then many she knew, she also knew she took her own durability for granted.
"The city is a big place, the vigilantes are hard to find but usually have the interest of trying to save Humans. I have encountered a few while shredding a few humans here and there and over there. M powers Humans are a more abundant target. Quite addictive and ha ssome nasty side effects im told long term" she went on trying to answer his question as best as she could. A Hunt sounded nice and often such gangs or groups kept to isolated places them selfs to hide from police detection.

"Guns...well I can be shot and not do much about it, unless you count blinding them or knocking the gun away. In a sense I can't really defend except with a offence. That and I get the unfair advantage of being able to breathe whilst they can't" He said to her inquiry about his ability against guns, he hadn't really considered that, but it didn't phase him much when he thought about it as long as he could stop them pulling the trigger he would be fine.
"Vigilante group eh? well that could be fun, sounds annoying to get them to show up and not be left with the cops but I guess it could be worth the fun." He said when she mentioned these extreme kinds of people, They did sound fun though but his only concern was that they would uphold to some sort of moral code, making them hold back and try to change him. But if they where also mutants or these people on M then it could be a good learning experience.
"So whats the cops like in this city? they deadbeats or will they actually try to stop you?" He asked, mainly for general knowledge and how fast he would have to run if they did show up.
She considered his word's carefully, while having no defense against bullets he seemed none the less willing kill humans anyway. She admired that trait greatly in people and it seemed so rare she actually found it in others. It reminded of the old day's in the wood's charging off to battle with friend's at her side. She corrected her thought realizing at once this was better, here they were both likely to stay alive.
Aura considered a few option and discarded each untill she grinned, She had something her new friend might just be perfect for. She kept this to herself though as she considered his next question about the police.
"Their smart for Humans, they try to avoid places like this and they figured out very quickly i do not Freeze, very well. Now when they find me out they simply call the mrc, though i have avoided any altercations with them as of yet. They do try though and the mrc did raise the life expectancy of the average rookie officer. If they think they can stop you they will, if not they will call the mrc or try real hard to pretend they saw nothing" she said. Officers had stopped telling her to freeze because it usually just got the officer charged, her blade did better then their bullets.
"Are you any good at stealth?" she asked curiously looking back to him, this time sweeping, some stray black lock's from in front of her eyes.

"Well if they think they can stop us then they are clearly idiots." He said plainly seeing nothing but that fact in the matter. It seemed really odd to him that a cop would see a mutant making trouble and try to stop them, even when it spells certain death for that cop.
"Um stealth, well I'm in alright condition and can move fairly quietly. It does help to have a large black cloud under my control, especially if its nighttime as black cloud and dark places make for a nice hiding spot." He said when she inquired about his stealth levels. He had never really given much thought to stealth and being sneaky before, mainly as it had never really appealed to him as something he would find fun to do. But he guessed that he would be alright at it.
"Quick question, If someone saw me, if this person was killed and stuff before he could tell anyone does it still count as stealth. If so yes I would be good at that." He was half joking and half being serious, as if films and other forms of media where anything to go on then the definition of stealth was something that could be debated. But the general rule was do not alert them to your presence, and with his trail of thought if the little fish didn't tell the big fish he would remain hidden.
"Why you got something in mind?" He asked curiously.
"Humanity will lose in the end, regardless of what the police may do" She confirmed. Despite their number's Aura knew Humanity would one day be consumed by mutant kind. The humans would of course fight as any dieing animal would. Aura had longed to fight in the final war against humanity, but now her heart pulled her to other things.
"As long as the body can be hidden so it is not discovered to soon. I do at that, i know a group of Human supremacists holding a small number of Mutant's. I wish to extract them. The job pays well and buys silence about it as well." she said knowing the man's abilities were just what she needed for this.
"Their Leader is a Human M user, the rest are not but likely armed with pistols and the like. The Leader turns into a creature who looks like he's made of Marble. He does however need to breathe...." she said. She was unsure what her powers would do against the man once transformed. Still with Leon that would not be an issue, she hoped. Stealth was vital though, Aura knew the captives fates were held by that wire.

The description of the job sounded very appealing, and fun. After he had been given the description of the M users powers he begun to think up ways to deal with him, several ideas came up at once with various levels of cruelty and efficiency. "Now that sounds like a worthwhile use of time, and as for pay I don't really have need for money so I would do it for the laughs not the cash. Also any idea if the transformations skin deep? Cos if its not I could force my ash down his throat, after that stage imagine a blender..." He said with a smile.
The idea of the job made him both nervous and really happy. On one hand he was nervous as it was illegal and dangerous, but then again he was really bored and tired of normal people taking advantage of mutants and hating on them.
Another thought popped into his head, it was more an idea than a solid thought, but it was brought on by the fact that this had been called a job. I could be a merc... He thought oddly, it seemed to fit with what he thought he was good at, and he would be getting paid to use his power and have a blast. Best of all he wouldn't need to complete any more school or classes. Finding the jobs could be annoying but if he could find the right people then it was a possibility.
"So anyway I'm in with the job. You do this sorta thing often? Fighting for mutants and killing some human asses, cos I get really bored taking out easy gangs all day." He said with a laugh, almost unable to contain his excitement.
She liked this guy more every with each reply. He was both enthusiastic and considering the fight ahead. Aura wished their were more people like him in the world then their kind could do serious damage. Still this was certainly a start and she considered other thing's he might be able to help with if this went well.
"It is sad human's who fight well are so rare. I find other mutant's more of a challenge. Though i never kill other's of our kind if it can be helped. Sent one one or to back to the mansion's healer though." she said as the memory of her nearly killing Kasumi rose to her mind.
"Their is always work for the talented. Keep in mind, your pay, buy's silence to.......Months ago I infiltrated A human supremacist group to get close to their leader. He wound up dead...mysteriously of course. I need to maintain that cover as long as i can. Alone or with a partner without your unique talent, i could not save them all. I believe his inside's are vulnerable. " she said though she was guessing a bit with that. SHe had no real way of knowing, but no matter the M power, it always faded, and a human was easy pray.
