The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well you clearly can't tell when it's not, like right now." Persi didn't know why Aiden couldn't tell, but it was getting extremely annoying. Even if he couldn't tell, couldn't he at least believe Persi could? Persi wasn't the one with the messed up sense of temperature, so why was he expected to be wrong? "Just because you're oversensitive or something doesn't mean reality actually changed."
"I'm not going." He should, it was Aiden's room after all, not his. So Persi really ought to go when Aiden said to, if not necessarily to do exactly what he said. He didn't want to admit that, though, so he was just going to keep pretending he had the right to stay, instead of Aiden. "If you want to find someone, go find them. Or go get a bunch of ice cubes or something."

"You're annoying. Why are you so stubborn? It's hot, okay? Hot is bad. Maybe it just fried your brain already. Frying everything else." Like him. No, what was happening to him was somewhere between boiling and melting. Neither was good. Melting was probably less bad, though. Kind of appropriate too. Horrible but unpleasantly undeniably appropriate.
"Oversensitive implies that it isn't real or appropriate. You shouldn't say things like that," Aiden declared. It was rude to try to say that people were imagining things. Hadn't already Persi tried to say that he was seeing things before? Continuing in the same vein after Aiden had already proven him wrong on that very point was just weird. Oooh, ice cubes! Ice cubes would help!
Except getting up was gross and probably going to make him more miserable. Would their acquisition be worth the pain and effort? He pondered this very hard. It was a very serious matter, after all. To be completely and totally honest, he wasn't convinced that he was capable of staying on his feet long enough to find the ice cubes. Sure, he might be able to just climb in the freezer when he got there, since that might be nice, but it would be so hard... He cast a slyly contemplative glance in Persi's direction... or would have if his eyes were open, but it took too much effort to push them open right now. His head hurt too much to fall asleep, and anyway it was indeed far too hot to sleep, but being awake was hard too. He shifted enough to dig his head more comfortably into his mattress. "Good brothers would go get ice cubes," he said plaintively, just loud enough for it to be audible but still sound like he was talking to himself. Conri always got him soup when he was sick. What was wrong with getting ice cubes when he was hot?

"Because I'm right!" Persi wasn't quite yelling yet, but he was only a step below it. The sketchbook had been forgotten beside him. "Your sense of temperature is screwed up, not mine, it is not hot. Why do you always assume I'm lying?" Or just stupid and damaged, apparently, but Persi wasn't any more fond of that sentiment than the others. "There's nothing wrong with my brain!"
"It doesn't matter what I say, and I'm right." Which, apparently, made no difference whatsoever to Aiden, but that was really all that Persi had left, so he wasn't going to start lying just to make Aiden shut up. He couldn't be a good person, so he'd at least be a correct one.
Good brothers? What did Aiden know about good brothers? Clearly not enough, about brothers or reality, if he thought there could be good anything in a mutant school. "Good brothers don't exist here."

How could Persi be right? Aiden started out skeptical, but as Persi's rant continued he found himself feeling rather ticked off. While he did have to concede the point about whose temperature sense had recognized issues, even if those issues were not directly related or even all that comparable, the accusation that Aiden thought Persi was a liar - and that he had thought so on multiple occasions, of all things - well, that was totally inappropriate.
He should tell him so. "I do not assume you're lying! ... Sometimes I figure you have no clue what's going on, but lying is stupid." Assuming that people assumed things was kind of stupid too, wasn't it? It certainly made things awkward and unpleasant. This was more unpleasant than anything though. "If you really think I always assume you're lying, there really issomething wrong with your brain," Ai said simply, "even if it wasn't caused by the heat. Might be exacerbated by the heat, I suppose... Heat does make everything worse..."
Persi really was being annoyingly silly, though. "Of course it matters what you say. If you say rude things, then people might get upset. Not very conducive to keeping them from punching you in the face or something." Really, being rude to people was just going to attract unpleasant attention that no amount of desire to suck up to popular older brothers was going to ease. Make people mad enough and they'd go right against their better judgement to take out their irritation.
Some comments just deserved proper responses, though, even if Aiden was really feeling too off to have half a hope of defending himself if Persi got angry and tried to clobber him. Maybe he'd at least figure out how the healing thing worked... "Clearly everyone's just useless today," he retorted.

"Well then why do you keep saying I have? I didn't do anything to your book!" Whether Aiden would have the slightest clue what Persi was referring to was not something Persi had considered, or really cared about. He was still offended by the accusation, so Aiden ought to remember it too. The heat comment... clearly Aiden wasn't even hearing him on that topic, so Persi didn't bother.
"People punch me anyway even if I don't say anything." Certain pink-haired teachers came to mine, though that psycho girl was the really outstanding one. "I'm not going to lie just because some people are jerks."
"If you want ice, then go get it." Persi was perfectly content to be useless, at least in this particular case.

"Keep... saying..?" Aiden was confused until Persi continued. Then he was even more confused. Was he supposed to be thinking that Persi had done something to his book?
Oooooooh. That book? But he'd purposely left it out and open to the would-be offending page while Persi was showering after the remedial gym thing. That had started out fun. Anyway. Persi needed straightening out. Had he put the book away? He didn't remember doing so. He waved a blind hand in the general direction of his book-littered desk. "I had to say something or the rich metal aussie was going to do something bad to me like he did to you," Aiden said matter-of-factly. "Left it out for you afterwards so you could see..."
Eheheh. Punching people for not saying things. Wait. Punching Persi wouldn't be nice even if he was annoying enough to deserve it sometimes. Hm. "Not saying rude things isn't necessarily lying. There's tact. And, you know, just not saying it. Not making the jerks made usually keeps them off your back."
He just wasn't giving up on this, was he? And he really wasn't giving himself any apparent-intelligence points either. "I don't have a death wish," he muttered darkly. It was too hot, he had decided. He wouldn't make it far.

Rich metal Aussie?
Well now Persi was imagining Cafas as a rock star. Metal star? Whatever. That might be kind of fun to draw, if he was sure Cafas wouldn't hit him for it. Maybe he could just write Aiden's quote on the page? If Cafas was still stealing Persi's sketchbooks anymore anyway. Persi wasn't sure if he was. Either way, he could put it in his best hidden sketchbook. Which was... um. In the hole in the back of the green couch? Probably. Assuming it hadn't changed color in the last few days.
...Okay, maybe that sketchbook shouldn't be quite that well hidden. It made things a little pointless if Persi couldn't find it either.
Anyway. Hiding the sketchbook and including the quote would probably be enough, one or the other, so back to the point. "He didn't do anything to you, and he wasn't going to. And anyway he only hit me." Much harder than Persi was used to, and there was that whole knocking him over thing, but it was still just hitting, and Cafas still didn't hate Aiden. Persi doubted any of the teachers did, with as much energy as Aiden put into sucking up to them. "Left what out for me to see?" The vague wave was less than helpful. For one thing, Persi didn't know what he was looking for, and for another, it was in the direction of Aiden's desk. Persi was not going near Aiden's desk, it would only give him something else to yell at Persi for. Aiden found enough of those without Persi's help already.
"Maybe for you." Persi wasn't entirely sure why Aiden would be immune to bullies just by virtue of not speaking to them. It certainly didn't work for Persi. He wasn't going to argue that point, though; it just wasn't worth it.
"Most people don't." Enough people, in fact, that Persi wasn't sure why Aiden felt the need to state that he wasn't suicidal. That was generally the default assumption for most people. "What does that have to do with ice?" Nothing, was Persi's guess. But then Aiden's brain didn't seem to be working well right now, so who knew.

"Didn't doesn't mean wouldn't," he muttered. "Got to be careful."
Aiden waved again. "Th'book. Left it out so you could see. Right afterwards. Since you have to wait for hot water and all." Oooh a cold shower would be nice if he could get there and not drown. Way too much effort to stay upright, though. That was too bad...
Persi really was unobservant. "S'too far. Moving sucks. Can't go." What was so hard to understand about that? His head hurt and he was already too hot. Moving would make his head hurt more AND would warm him up even more, because exercise meant heat. Obviously getting up and leaving, even for such a helpful things as ice, was a very bad idea.

"Whatever." Aiden clearly wasn't listening at all. Persi flipped through the sketchbook to a blank page, and began sketching a stage. If Cafas was the star singer, who was the rest of the band? Kaitlyn could be in it.... Andrea and Evelyn didn't really have the right personalities. Juka definitely could... and maybe Miss Jackson?
"It's not that far. You're not even leaving the building." Which wasn't saying as much in the Mansion as it might in other buildings, but still. It wasn't that far. "If you aren't even willing to go to the kitchen, then obviously you don't want ice that much."
