The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sam smirked to himself in the darkness of the room surrounded by the mist he added to obscure her vision further. ”First time a girl’s every called me a stick in the mud.” Sam let out a small laugh as he shifted to another corner of the room with quick silent steps gliding on the ice that was quickly forming on the floor. ”Trust me, if I was trying to charm you. We wouldn’t exactly be talking.” he said to himself more than her.
Her arms continued to illuminate her body making everything about her visible except for her facial features. He still wasn’t focusing too hard on trying to see her face. She moved and he spotted some leg in the dim green light Sam smiled then he heard a commotion and there was more movement. Sam waited to see what she was doing then it hit him in quick succession. One book to the head again, then one to the shoulder and another to his leg, Sam let out a small grunt they didn’t hurt more like a minor irritation under the ice armor. ”Doubt it Tink.” if anything he’d go with a pirate hat or a bird.
”Noted, I’ll try and stop wasting your time then Tink. Though Sam’s an easy name to remember, have to be pretty dense to not recall it.” Sam said dodging the green explosion and willing more mist into the room making it harder to spot him unless she was within a closer proximity than she was now. ”So you’re the type that likes to get waited on huh?” Sam said willing the ice armor on his body to move off his frame and solidify.
More ice started to form on his skin as he moved further away from the woman while his ice clone moved closer. ”Here I come!” Sam said making his voice heard in one direction while seconds later his ice clone charged for the woman trying to tackle her.
It was dark, cold, and now there was a mist filling the air. This was getting a little ridiculous and she wasn't sure how to tilt things back in her favor. Sliding around on a tower of books wouldn't cut it, and trying to blindly charge at him may not end well. She kept the conversation going, wondering if she could just stall until she found a new escape. It was a dumb tactic and it made her feel amateur for trying it, but there wasn't much else to do.
"You're right. If you were trying to charm me I would have punched you by now. Or giving you something more... explosive to chew on." She remarked coldly, and rolled her eyes, reaching another box and finding it frozen shut. She adjusted her staff in her hand, circling a little further back in the direction Sam had been coming from. She was running out of free projectiles anyway. It may be time for hand to hand combat...
"I'm not the type to be 'waited' on either. I'm a big girl, tie my own shoelaces and everything. I just don't do the whole 'come quietly' thing." She couldn't tell what direction he was now, and waited for his next response to try and pinpoint his location. Marco...polo...
>>Here I come!
Tses spun her head one direction, and then from another a figure blurred in the darkness and hit her in the side. She fell backwards, spinning slightly before hitting and using her staff to try and knock him to the side. It was like getting hit by a brick. Who knew ice could be so...solid. She twisted her bo staff and slammed it down where she figured the guys back was. Her arms illuminated nothing but ice and the light reflected everywhere in a confusing manner.

Sam smirked from the mist and shadows in his distant corner as Tinkerbell reacted to his voice only to catch a golem of ice to the side. Unfortunately it didn’t fully get her off her feet. Sam felt her body react and spin the staff into the golem. Clearly it wasn’t just for intimidation she had some skill with it or at least enough to react to a golem charging her. He could see the movement of the staff due to it being too dark for him to actually see however when he moved from his corner he spotted the green arms and his ice golem. Her glow gave a nice green tint to his golem.
With a small laugh (that was somewhat audible) he willed the golem to turn round and swing it’s icy arms at her body hoping to get her distracted enough for her to not see what was coming next or at least break the staff or make it impossible for her to use it. Willing another ice clone just as the first one pressed on. Sam able to fell the woman’s body temperature made it all too easy for him to see her and with the green glint of her arms from his distance he was able to see a few boxes of books however that didn’t stop the first golem from hitting a box or two.
The second golem waited a few seconds before Sam made a motion with his hand to send it towards the woman this time he yelled again, ”No, I’m over here!” as the golem came running at her from behind as the other one was still swinging at her.
Something was wrong with this ice guy. Tses couldn't quite identify what at first, but as the fighting progressed she noticed he wasn't responding as he had been before. He seemed, mechanical, in a way. The laughter resounded from another area of the room as Tses did a back flip onto the box behind her, narrowly avoiding getting hit by the golems arm. Ice clipped her metal staff and the vibrations stung her arms. Not even a flinch. In the glow of her powers, she squinted at the figure, a realization dawning.
Fists hit books next to her, and she backed up quickly, dodging most of the blows in a frantic backpedal. Then she was clipped from behind by a second figure, and sent crashing from the stack of books onto the floor below. Two of them... This guy was... cloning himself. That wasn't fair! She glanced around, grabbed her staff and scrambled away as one of the clones slammed their fist into the ground where her face would have been. Fighting the clones seemed rather useless now. She needed to find the real thing.
Breaking into a run she darted along the boxes, looking for something that could fight the ice mutant. Fire seemed like it would be great about now, but probably not readily available. She'd have to try the next best thing.
Building an explosive in her fist she waited for the next clone to approach, jumped onto their back and crammed the explosive in the clones mouth. Diving out of the way, she waited for the explosion. She hoped this would at least take out one of the attacking clones, and buy her some time. Maybe she couldn't beat him, but maybe he'd get tired of trying to corner her. Sometimes, surviving just meant being too much of a pain to catch.

Light on her feet was an understatement, if he couldn’t feel her touch on the ground every so often Sam would have guessed she had the ability to float as well the way she was avoiding each one of his golem’s attacks. She moved again and gracefully force-fed one of his golems with one of her explosives. Sam smirked in the darkness and shifted to the other side of the room again continuing to make the temperature drop to uncomfortable levels for all who weren’t gifted with his mutation or one that prevents the body from being cold.
The first golem exploded the main bulk of the golem shattering and exploding outwards sending shards of ice everywhere. Sam did his best to make sure the woman wasn’t impaled by a single shard y willing the larger bits of ice to break apart further in midair. Sam smirked again, ”Seems you have a knack for this.” he moved again gliding over a few fallen books still making sure he couldn’t be seen from a distance.
The base of the golem’s body still remained at least the legs did. They took two steps towards the woman with the glowing green hands as ice from the floor worked it’s way upward on the legs of the golem climbing up higher and higher until the golem’s body was back in one piece. It shifted before the woman again and opened it’s mouth in a taunting expression asking for more. Sam thought this was appropriate for the situation he was making it clear to the woman he didn’t find her to be much of a match from him.
Just as the mocking golem stood upright again Sam touched his ear as it beeped. ”Yeah?” Sam asked in a muffled tone as he continued to move this time raising a few more ice figures similar to his body size out of the ice. They didn’t move but they weren’t supposed to. They were just for a distraction. ”Might be a few minutes, try to suppress it until I get there…” Sam removed his hand from his ear and shifted his attention to the woman. ”Time I wrap this up tink.”
The cold was beginning to have an effect on Tses. It stung her lungs when she breathed in, slowed her reflexes a little and made her landings harder to hold. Some of the ice shards got dangerously close when the creature exploded, but not close enough to hurt her in an oddly lucky way. She would have almost thought the mutant did something, but watching the way his creations fought she felt herself doubting that. Why would he risk her cracking her head open but stop her from being stabbed? It didn't make sense, then again, she had someone break her arm than take her to the doctors before. Sometimes, mutants didn't make sense when they were doing something for 'justice'.
A slight shiver went through her as she climbed along a stack of boxes, glad for the cloth wrappings on her arms that took away some of the icy sting as her hands touched frost covered and occasionally frozen boxes. The voice in the room called out to her and she hissed slightly, grumbling as she slid a few feet on one of the stacks.
"I'm a street kid. You should try fighting me on a rooftop sometime." The brag came out slightly more strained than her previous comments, and she stuttered slightly when she said it. She glanced back at the busted ice creature only to find it was in one piece and smirking. She rolled her eyes. "Charming." She could hear him chattering a few seconds later as she slowly circled the noises. She formed another large explosive, tapping into her power reserves and tossed it over the boxes where she heard him speaking.
Feeling more desperate, she made a bee-line back for the door, holding her staff close to her side and moving around where his voice was. If she couldn't break through the ice on her own, maybe she could trick one of the creatures to do it for her. They seemed fairly strong. She hoped that would be enough, and glanced back to see if they were following.

Sam hardly noticed a difference in the temperature but it was well beyond freezing. He frowned slightly at her slower movements and suddenly took pity on her not turning his hold over the temperature off he simply turned it down a bit so it was slightly more tolerable though this wouldn’t be noticeable till he was gone which he hoped was soon and then it would only get warmer from there.
A flash of green and he jumped backwards as the explosion went off sending a box of books toppling over him. He let out a small grunt of surprise one that he tried to hush and noticed the woman was running for the door. Sam smirked under the pile of books as he worked his way out from under them. ”Who says I want to fight you again? You called me plain.” Sam said trying to sound hurt but only used it to attempt to distract her as willed the ice on the door to sprout a head and some hands that reached out and tried to touch her.
Sam started to laugh from the shadows again. ”I don’t think you understand the situation you are in. Cold doesn’t affect me in the slightest. I’m pretty sure you’re not meant for cold weather either.” A golem walked towards the woman slowly from behind and tried to reach out for her as the hands and face of the golem in front of her. Meanwhile as Sam was controlling the ice clones he inched his way to the back door. One with a small alarm box on the top connected to the steel door. Reaching up he froze the box making it impossible for the alarm to sound when he planned on exiting the room, which if his clones could get a hold of her was going to be soon.
Tses was just about to try and make her escape out the door, when she was startled to find an ice-like figure starting to emerge from it. The arms reached for her, and she jumped back, glancing where she heard the voice and snarling slightly under her breathe. "I never called you plain, but I'm thinking of some new insults now pretty boy. I wonder how you'd look with a few teeth busted out!"
His distraction had worked just long enough though. As she turned, she noticed the second ice creature making a grab from her, and took evasive action, jumping backwards...
...which happened to put her right in the arms of the door.
Tses yelped slightly in surprise and a bit of pain as the cold arms grasped her by the waist and yanked her backwards, the cold stinging her skin as the few exposed areas contacted it. Panicking, the green energy on her arms flared, but trying to blow up the ice this close would likely give her some unpleasant shrapnel wounds to deal with. Instead, she collapsed her staff just enough for it to be baton sized, and slammed it backwards at the figure. She held on tight as the vibrations stung her arms, and tried to wriggle free before the other ice figure got any closer.

Sam looked back over his shoulder for a second before he started to melt the ice around the door he was in front in while Tses was busy struggling with his ice golems. One got a hold of her and was being attacked, as the other still was moving towards her. Calling out not really too worried anymore about the girl knowing where he was, ”First off you’d have to catch me first to bust out my teeth, second off… Thanks for calling me pretty.” Sam said finishing with a smirk and a mocking tone in his voice. ”Third off your not to bad on the eye yourself, shame your going into police custody, who knows could have had some fun.”
Turning his head back to the door he was at he finally sent the second golem after that pesky little extendable baton she was trying to use to break herself free. Even though Sam couldn’t see or feel the baton he could still feel and see the glowing green hand holding it. The golem grasped at her arm and held onto it Sam making sure he didn’t put too much force behind the golem’s hand. The last thing he wanted to do was break the girl even if she did throw some books at him.
The door before him was thawed out and he looked back in the direction of the blonde and willed a few more ice statues similar to his golems in the room. When she did get free of the one on the door and the one now latched onto her arm he figured she’d want to try and smash a few before she tried to escape and hopefully he’d be back in time with a few police officers to round her up.
Stretching his right hand and directing it to the floor a few feet in front of him he made a dome over himself and the emergency exit to make sure no light would enter the room to give away his plan to escape while she was distracted. Hopefully she’d fall for it and stick around.
Tses' response to the ice mutant's comment was a string of very unladylike curse words, and the sound of the mental staff smashing into the approaching ice creature's head. It bindly made a grab for her arm and she flinched as the cold bit through the thin fabric, wriggling and forming a smaller explosive and dropping it just behind the 'back' of the creature coming out of the door. The orb went off, sending spiderwebs through the ice, but not shattering it, thankfully. Then all it took was a good twist and a thrust backwards, and her staff slammed into the weakend chest and the sound of ice hitting the ground in hundreds of pieces echoes through the room.
She was livid.
She was reckless.
Green energy glowed, more orbs were formed, and she scrambled across the ground with the scrapper mentality she grew up with on the streets. She got cut a few times by exploding shrapnel as she jumped from one ice creature to the next, first blowing up the arm of the one holding her, then the faces of several of the others. She was reaching the end of her power supply, so she made each attack count. She endured the painful sting of kicking one of the creatures backwards into it's companion in order to get two in one shot. Then suddenly, the room was clear, and she scanned around, looking for the figure that had started all of this. She suddenly realized where she had heard his voice from last, and raced towards the door.
He hadn't sealed it behind him. Sweet freedom was hers!
Abandoning her dignity, she opened the door and bolted, finding the nearest fire escape and taking to the rooftops. When he returned, there would be nothing left but broken ice and they're melting remnants. As much as her ego wanted to stay and wipe the snug smile off her face, life on the street taught her one thing: sometimes, winning was just about getting away to fight another day.
