The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Evelyn nodded politely and took a few more bites before responding. "Not to be rude, but for the moment I am still trying to sort out some other problems... I'm still learning to be a mutant, and that's turning into it's own challenge. But I appreciate the offer. If I have questions, I can certainly come to you." She continued finishing off her plate, then moved to rinse it off in the sink. Unlike Talon, she didn't have as good of a metabolism, and the ice cream already helped fill her up.
Flicking water from her hands, she set the dishes in the dish washer and leaned back against the counter. He had insisted he would be needing babysitting tonight as well, and she hoped he had merely been exaggerating. As polite and well mannered as he was now, she had to wonder what he would be like on pain medication. It could either be humorous or obnoxious...
Seeing that Evelyn was done eating Mariusz quickly polished off the second piece of lasagna before depositing the dishes in the sink. "I will deal with the leftovers if you do the rest of the dishes," he said, moving around the kitchen in search of some aluminum foil, an ink pen, and post-it notes. Quickly enough he located his bounty and set it down on counter top. Quickly enough he had wrapped up the leftovers and scribbled a simple note with what the dish was, when it had been made, and a message letting anyone who found it know they were welcome to eat some.
"I suppose it is time to take some of these," he said, producing the pain pills. "But first," he said, fishing a mug from one of the cabinets and filling it with water while Evelyn continued with the last few dishes, "I think some tea is in order. Any for you," he asked, showing her a box of pre-bagged Earl Grey tea bags as he stuck the mug of water in the microwave to heat it up.

Evelyn gave a nod and set out to clean up the rest of the dishes as suggested. There wasn't much left, and luckily it could all fit in the dishwasher so she wouldn't have to spend too much time with her hands engulfed in suds. Washing dishes wasn't such a big deal to her, it was more the mysterious swirling your hands in dirty water part that got to her. Whenever you were up to your elbows in water and you saw a piece of food floating past, it could make your stomach turn a little. Rinsing dishes didn't bother her: everything went down the sink, you didn't have to see it twice, and the dishwasher took care of the rest.
By the time she had everything sorted, and her hands were washed clean, she watched as Mariusz pulled out his medication and started musing over it. Part of her felt it would have been the perfect time to leave, but she rude enough to just abandon him. So she stayed, and accepted the offer for tea.
"Earl Grey is fine. At home I have some nice herbal teas, if things stay the way they are in the city I may have to bring some here for the time being. Loose leaf always seems to taste better to me." She admitted, and took a cloth to wipe down the counters while the water heated.
"I quite agree that loose leaf is infinitely preferable," the Czech man said, grabbing another mug and filling it with water. "As is taking the time to properly boil the water in a tea kettle... but there are times in our lives when we are forced to settle for what we find to be less than optimal." He sighed and slid the two mugs into the microwave to heat them up. "This would seem to be one of those times."
A few moments later the timer dinged and Mariusz removed the mugs and dropped a tea bag down into each of them. "Time for this," Mariusz said, popping the cap on the pills and shaking two into his hand before popping them into his mouth and downing them with water.
"Alright babysitter, I think the best place to set up shop is in the big common room. Nice big TV in there and it is hooked up to something that allows for movies and TV shows to be streamed from the internet," heading out of the kitchen and leading Evelyn in that direction, the mug of tea in his hands. "If we hurry we can get there before these things kick in."
