The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The conversation was getting revealing, to say the least. By just sitting and talking she knew this guy was a thief, somewhat compulsively she was guessing now, and a murderer, but not out of spite, more out of accident it seemed. Or happenstance. Maybe that was closer to it. He met a girl and he lost her, and this seemed to be somewhere on that downward swing. The drinking she assumed based on the bar and the lack of memory. The combination of those things showed quite a bit about his personality and general mental state. A desperation to forget, find meaning. Chasing after something tangible...
"Your activities may not be saintly, but they show life: it shows you're still searching, still fighting, still struggling to find meaning. Sure, I could do the whole 'stealing is wrong, you shouldn't kill people, and you should probably have thought things through before you dumped a girl if you regret it this much' speel. But even when your gutt may need some recalibrating before you trust in completely, I think as long as you have the willpower to question what's right you haven't screwed up your life too badly." She consoled, hoping that her words would make him feel less crappy, if possible.

Ty nodded as he chewed on this. "True. And in retrospect...that relationship was probably...I don't know 75-80 percent fighting? I'm the emotional type, she wasn't...didn't really bode well...but...maybe you're right." He brightened a bit.
"Maybe I haven't found peace yet because I'm too lost in what was burned into my head as right and wrong...what I need to be as opposed to who I am or want to be..." he mused, expression sort of brightening.

Evelyn gave a slow nod after considering what he said. "Things always look clearer in hindsight. Hopefully, this will too. So don't stress it so much. Heck, the world has bigger problems than a pick-pocket sometimes car thief. I don't think your going to destroy Manhattan on your own." She gave him a slightly teasing smirk, then took the last swing of her latte.
Glancing at the clock, she decided she probably should find her way back home before Jensen realized she was missing. If he caught her talking to another stranger at coffee...well, she always wondered what princesses locked in towers felt like. "If you ever need someone to chew on your problems for awhile, you can always just tell the barista you're looking for Holmes. They know me and can pass the word on." She said, standing with a stretch.

Ty chuckled. "Maybe not, but I know people," he joked, winking lightly. He nodded as she spoke, then he blinked. That name....that word. Why did it sound so familiar? Why did it ring like a bell?
Ty's eyes brightened as he got it. But then they brought back pained memories. Holmes. Holmes Project....Could she have been involved with that one mission with Tses...? He sighed, shaking away the thoughts and memories. No use clinging to what couldn't be clung to anymore, after all. Throwing his cup in the trash, he turned and made his way back to the counter, tipping the barista as he then turned for the exit.

Evelyn watched as the kid left, holding her coffee cup loosely in her hand and considering that last little flicker that passed his face before he left. Usually, people had a momentary pause when they tried to connect her name to something before realizing it was a Sherlock Holmes reference. But this... seemed different. Part of her wanted to follow the confused teen, and ask what he was thinking. But part of her realized, she didn't want to know.
She had pursued curiosity more than once in a coffee shop. From experience, it rarely ended well. So she left a tip in the tip jar, headed out the back exit and started the long walk home.
