The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It had pretty much come from no-where. One minute all was (relatively) quiet, a few protests being guarded, not much happening. Then the radio had lit up with calls for back up. Almost immediately the phone on the desk in the X-men's offices had started ringing. Cafas picked up. No hello, no small talk, just phone to ear and "We're on our way."
He'd checked around, and found Sam. The boss man himself. Clearly he'd heard the call too. "I s’pose it'll be us then." Cafas grabbed the keys to the X-mobile, as he had taken to calling it. It was a gift from the city to help them get places fast, their very own car, with lights and sirens. This was his favourite part.
They tore through the streets of New York, as if the lights had been set up for them. Traffic would have been more of an issue, he was sure, if not for the fact that with the city in such turmoil, most people were staying inside. They reached Brooklyn in record setting time.
The car screeched to a halt behind the police barricade. Beyond were a small, determined group of cops, holding two groups of rioters at bay. Cafas jumped out of the car, pulling on a riot helmet as he did so. There hadn't been time to change, so he was still in his rather worse for wear looking riot squad gear. He'd had maybe four hour's break since he was last on scene. That one had stayed peaceful enough. This one... Not so much.
He vaulted the barricade, riot shield in one hand, steel bar in the other, his baton long since lost. NYPD weren't going to be happy about that when they returned the gear.
Cafas was within ten yards when it turned ugly. He said it, because it was rather hard to tell the gender of the stone golem that had suddenly sprung up from the crowd. No guesses to which side were the mutants any more. The other side saw that as provocation, and a bottle, a flaming tail streaking behind it, flew from the anti mutant protestors.
Cafas barely avoided the worst of the flames as it landed, smashing. A lot of the cops weren't so lucky. Cafas found himself right in the middle of the two groups as the police line started to break up. They had nowhere to go, unable to fall back any further. Cafas clobbered a mutant as he ran for a gap. Not a second later a group of the officers on scene gave up the batons and drew guns. The human line was pushed back as rubber bullets flew into the crowd.

Another riot call it wasn’t like Sam needed to rest anyways. He’d been running on fumes for the last few hours and right before he could get a little shut eye it seemed that the city of New York and it’s ‘fine’ citizens had other plans for him. Sam muttered something about letting the city burn as he hopped into the X-mobile. He didn’t feel like driving at this point he was too tired and needed to conserve what energy he could for whatever they had to deal with. Luckily he had seen Doc quite recently and he managed to take care of his little slight dehydration problem got to love the I.V.
The mobile was fast and with Cafas driving they were there shortly after they got the call not as fast as a jet but still. No need to spend all that money on jet fuel just to head into town. Not to mention seeing a jet wouldn’t help much in preventing a riot if anything he’d imagine it would only make matters worse. Exiting the mobile Sam spotted the police barricade and all the people on both sides. Luckily nothing happened just yet but it seemed more of a ‘calm before the storm’.
Catching a glimpse of Cafas putting on riot gear Sam did something similar though his was made out of ice and his current gear before that was just his X-Man suit. It was always battle ready and was comfortable enough to sleep in which was why it was one of the few things he had been wearing this week, he really had to thank Kealey again for the suit.
His attention shifted as a stone golem appeared. Great. ”Already starting,” Sam said as he spotted a flaming cocktail being launched into the police group. Before he could put out the fire it landed and spread a few police officers screamed as others pulled out the rubber bullets. Something Sam approved of opposed to regular bullets but he still couldn’t help but think that regular bullets would get the point across a bit better. Shaking the previous thought from his head Sam quickly dosed the flames before they could spread or burn anyone else. Luckily a majority of the police officers had their riot great on and or bulletproof vest so the majority of the damage done from the fire was on their gear and not their skin.
”Ever wonder what would happen if we lived somewhere else?” Sam yelled to Cafas as he found his way towards the pink haired mutant who was wearing a helmet. Sam’s hands iced up and formed a baton as he pushed it into the gut of the nearest mutant who was trying to claw at a few cops behind him. ”Down boy!”
Enders was out in this madness for one reason, he was looking for the cause of all this and one of the major problems of that dark future so many had witnessed, Maxine. So as his bike tore through the streets the Marines last desire was to get involved in another petty squabbling between mutants and humans, didn’t they realize when they fought all they did was perpetuate the problem. For mutants thinking they were a higher life form they really didn’t have any form of higher intelligence. But none the less as the sound of gun fire erupted into the two groups clashing The Marine slowed his motorcycle to a stop off to the side he watched as stone golems rose and the three groups clashed.
It was only a matter of time before things began to spin out of control, so stepping off his bike black boots landed agains the pavement and he began moving towards the crowd. Throughout the riots Enders was acquiring police gear so currently he wore the dark blue cargo pants and a dark blue bullet proof vest over a black t-shirt, because you never knew when something could be needed Enders was going to be prepared for his encounter with Maxine. As he walked his crystal gauntlets formed over his hands, forearms, shoulders each piece sprouting as it worked its ay up his arms. More crystals sprouted from his legs forming bracers as the Marine spread his ability thiner over his body but being able to cover more surface area today seemed to be more beneficial then it was against the rats. The final pieces formed over his back and chest covering up the bullet proof vest he wore the crystals sprouting from his back arching up about two feet giving his neck some protection as well.
The ones who noticed him from both sides glanced at him with disgust as each seemed to assume he was here to protect the other, either way Enders could care less what they thought and as he reached the outer limits of the mob he stopped and crouched slightly as he prepared himself to be launched. He dumped his powers directly below him and in an instant he was launched into the air leaving behind a sole crystal spire. As he flew through the air the front of his feet sprouted small crystals he would need all the grip be could get against his target.
The Marine was getting pretty good at that move he thought to himself as he landed squarely on the back of the stone golem working its way towards the human half of the protest. Crashing into its back he dug his claws into its back gripping onto the spaces between the boulders that formed the creature, the claws in his feet acting similarly digging into the rock. Enders eyes began to glow blue as he dumped power into the stone construct the area around his hands sprouting crystals, but what Enders wanted he worked harder for as he guided his crystal growths into the cracks between the beasts body working his ability into the core of the beast. It didn’t take long and as he found his destination he sent waves of power through the line he had created towards that point and in a violent flurry of stone the beast exploded outwards. Rocks large and small littered the crowd to the front and sides of the golem, Enders was sure compound fractures and concussions would abound at his move but these people deserved it for creating havoc.
When Enders had caused the beast to explode he had intentionally focused the blast to the front and sides so all that remained after was the piece he was attached too which fell straight down and the pair of legs it fell between. Standing as the piece fell the Marine stood as the dust and screams swirled around him everything else falling silent for a moment. “Think its time you all leave...” His voice was dark, he had better things to do tonight then deal with people acting like savages.
”Ever wonder what would happen if we lived somewhere else?”
Cafas considered the question carefully as he beat a human who had broken the line in the thigh, then threw him out of the fray. "Knowing us? Same exact s*** as always, just different scenery, and less pizza." Cafas kicked out the knees of a guy who was headed right at C.S. and smacked him as he went down. A cop dragged him out too. Cafas felt something hit his back. He stumbled forward a step and turned to see... Nothing. Another shove from behind. He spun again. No culprit. He counted to three in his head, and sure as sunrise, another shove in the back. He spun again. Counted to three, and spun back, swinging.
For a second there was just air. Then his steel bar hit something. That something fizzled back to visibility, a trickle of blood running from the corner of his mouth as he slumped down. Cafas kicked him once in the chest for good measure. Then he got sick of playing defense. He reached down to the riot utility belt they'd been given and found the pepper spray.
A group of mutants made the mistake of trying to push up while rubber bullets held the humans relatively at bay. Cafas raised the can and unleashed a torrent of mace into their eyes and mouths. He pushed a bit up and sprayed some more, forcing the mutant line back as they clutched at their eyes in pain. A few seemed immune; most didn't hold up to the metal bar he hit them with. The police pushed up a bit, giving themselves a bit more space to play with.
"Oh yeah, they don't seem to like peppers."
Something told Cafas to duck behind his shield. He listened to that something. The air was very suddenly filled with flying pieces of rock. Well now, that was interesting. High velocity gravel and larger rock chunks bounced off his shield and face guard.
“Think its time you all leave...”
Well, he was certainly bold. Then again, he had just obliterated a stone gollem. A war cry from somewhere informed the newcomer and all who shared his sentiment what they may do with it.
Cafas turned, and for his trouble, received a spiked fist to the face shield. Poor thing had been through a lot recently, that was the last straw. It broke off as a similar fist rammed into his stomach.
He rolled to the side. More like he turned crumpling from the blow into a roll to a safer distance. Though safety was relative. He was squared up against a guy with spikes adorning his body, making him look like he was entirely studded.
The guy charged him. Cafas sidestepped and rammed his steel rod into the mutant's stomach. It barely flinched. Another massive fist knocked him backwards through the police line into the police held gap. Cafas struggled to his feet. "Sam, Could use a hand!" Cafas hardened the steel rod further, upped its density, and made it nice and hot at the end, before re entering the fray, and fighting this studded pain in the...

Sam punched another mutant in the face and he dropped so Sam could hit another person in the chest. He dropped as well clutching his chest while the other clutched his bleeding nose. It was nice being able to see everything around you no one could sneak up on him unless they threw something. The sound of crumbling stone was heard as a few chunks of rock collided with his ice his head lurched forward and he caught his balance on top of one of the rioters. Sam brought his knee up into the side of the rioter and he dropped. ”Who throws rocks still!?” Sam asked yelling out looking around for a rock thrower.
Sam briefly spotted an officer with what looked like crystals covering his body; a slight relief overcame Sam as he continued bashing in a few skulls. Nothing permanente but enough to make them reconsidering getting involved in a riot in his city. Sam stepped and grabbed another rioter by the shoulder and tugged backwards forcing him to the ground. Sam’s ears rang though when he heard Cafas call for his help. Luckily he wasn’t far from the ice mutant.
”Hold on a second!” Sam called out as dodged another hit and grabbed onto a mutant’s arm he could tell it was a mutant due to the five other arms he was trying to avoid. Throwing him down and stepping on his back Sam launched into the air and landed on the guy that was giving Cafas a hard time. Luckily he had ice covering his feet otherwise the spikes would have gone right through. Bending his knees and pushing downwards Sam forced the mutant to eat dirt. Pushing down a little more Sam willed some ice to form locking the mutant to the ground.
Sam pulled his ice covered foot free of the spikes and looked back to Cafas with a disappointed look on his face, ”I want pizza now. If I have to save your but again you are buying.” Sam smirked and then grabbed onto another mutant and swept his leg throwing him down to the ground. Looking up Sam spotted the guy covered in crystals again, then looked yelled back to Cafas, ”MRD is really stepping their game up!” Sam said as he grabbed another protester and flipped him over his back towards Cafas, ”Batter up!”
Enders hadn’t thought that he might be mistaken for police when he had acquired the downed officers gear but as he issued his warning and it went by unheeded and was followed by several remarks about being a “pig” and “traitor” the Marine began to piece together the reference and connection to his outfit. Letting out a sigh of exasperation the warrior went to work as the crowd began to form around him again. He dumped his ability into the ground using waves of pointless spikes exploding out of the ground to clear the area sending bodies flying through the air as the Marine walked through the battlefield towards the line of officers.
Leaping over the wall of crystals that rose and shrank as the crystal warrior moved a man who's hands shown red landed in front of Enders halting his advance. The Marines head snapped to the left as the young man’s fist connected with his cheek. Looking back at the man Enders was quickly facing left again as another blow struck him in the face. Returning to look at the man again Enders eyes burned with anger and as the young man let loose another strike the warriors hand was there catching it mid flight. With a quick lurch Enders struck the man with a fierce head butt causing him to crumple to the ground.
Resuming his advance a few tried to get close to the Marine and he quickly dispatched them as well a simple hip toss usually doing the trick. Enders was a trained warrior most of these people had barely been in a fight, this was child's play. As the Marine came close to the police line he saw two more mutants with police gear on fighting rioters.
“We need to separate the parties or else things are only going to get worse.” Enders called out over the sound of the riots. What he said was true if this thing lasted long it would only be a matter of time before the Emergency Services Unit was called and with them would come more gun, bigger guns. Actually that didn’t sound like a bad idea Enders could use all the help he could get when he found Maxine. Eyeing the new pair Enders wondered what the ones ability was it looked an awful lot like his own and eyeing the other Enders wondered why anyone would dye their hair that color. Turning with a reverse elbow strike another protestor dropped to the ground and leaning down he rested his hands on the ground a wall of crystal spikes jutting out into the crowd knocking away all in its path.
"Hey man, I'm loaded, what do I care." Cafas laughed as he pivoted on one foot and rammed the other into a rioter's throat. The guy gasped, stunned, for the briefest moment, before Cafas put his lights out.
Cafas glanced over at the newcomer in his partial uniform. "I don't know that he's MRD. When was the last time you saw MRD blow someone apart like he did to that stone thing. If that thing was just under the control of a mutant, don't you think we'd have seen another by now?" Cafas pushed back the crowd, pepper spray and rubber bullets getting the police a good few feet more ground.
"Batter up"
The mutant C.S. passed him flipped through the air, landed, and received a metal pipe to the head. Out like a light. Cafas had to assume he was still alive, as the glow around his hands and feet was still there.
“We need to separate the parties or else things are only going to get worse.”
"Then take your crystal trick there, and apply it to pushing these guys back." Not just flinging them bloody everywhere. Cafas was momentarily pushed back. someone had hit him hard. Someone else decided that now would be the time to lob something very large at the police.
"INCOMING!"
The dumpster flew through the air, sailing right for two officers nearby. Cafas Sprinted over to them, threw them out of the way and winced, prepared for the drain that was about to be put on his energy. He raised one exposed hand.
When it hit his body went into autopilot. The metal dumpster melted around him. He contained it to just enough to let him not get hit. Even still, it was a lot of metal. The walls of the dumpster were rather thick, and it landed and rolled, forcing him to melt it in half.
He stood, head to toe covered in metal. it solidified as an idea formed. He made enough holes in the metal covering his face to breathe and see, then went to work. He played with the properties of the metal covering him until he was totally covered in metal, and could still move uninhibited (mostly). It was heavy, but as he discovered when a brick struck him, it was effective. "Anyone see who threw that?"

”Sounds good to me then, working up quite the appetite!” Sam said as he jumped and punched a guy in the face causing him to collapse to the ground holding his nose. It was bleeding and most likely broken but the message was clear enough. ”Go HOME!” Sam yelled to the guy before turning back to give the guy who was in riot gear with crystals on his arms and legs a look.
”You see anyone in there? Wouldn’t be the first mutant who needs a cool down between uses of their abilities you and I both need some time if we over exert ourselves.” Sam said ducking his head forward and avoiding a punch that was coming from behind. Putting one foot behind his and forcing his body back Sam managed to knock the guy off balance and give him a nice elbow to the rib. ”But I get what you’re putting down!” Sam said turning to see the guy they were just talking about head in their direction.
“We need to separate the parties or else things are only going to get worse.”
”Obviou-“ Sam’s ice armor got hit on the side when another guy hit him with a lead pipe. ”I was talking!” Sam said as he grabbed the pipe and forced it to frost over before swatting down at it causing it to shatter like glass. ”Thank you captain obvious!” Sam called to the crystal guy before he heard the words ‘incoming’.
Turning his head Sam spotted Cafas running towards a flying dumpster. Sam started to run towards him to help but stopped and let out a small laugh when Cafas just took some of the metal from it to form some full body armor similar to his and the crystal guy. ”Look who is finally getting serious!” Sam called out to Cafas. ”Didn’t know you could control that much metal!”
Sam turned back towards crystal guy, ”Want to do that trick again with the crystal wall?” Sam asked pointing in one direction. ”You push’em north I’ll push’em south?” without waiting for conformation Sam turned his body south and willed the moisture in the air to form the ice needed to construct the wall. It took a few seconds but the wall quickly started to form and rise up into the air. Once it was five feet tall Sam angled it away from him and started to push it south hoping that he and the crystal guy could separate the large brawl into several smaller ones making it that much easier to stifle.
Enders came to rest between the two mutants that had sided with the police in an attempt to keep some form of order on the treterous streets of the city, and it quickly became obvious the two were more than simple mutant bystanders helping law enforcement as they bantered back and forth between one another. As the pink haired hero yelled out incoming, Enders mind instantly switched fulling into his combat mode as he flashed back to his time in the Marine Corps the crystals covering his hand expanded and grew into large clawed hands causing his back to hunch slightly from the added weight and a crystal mask grew over his mouth and neck to the back of his head.
He watched as the pink mutant pushed aside two cops and dumped his power into the flying metal canister causing it to wrap itself around him and form into the mutants own version of armor. Letting a grin crack onto his face beneath his crystal face protection. "Anyone see who threw that?" ”Look who is finally getting serious! Didn’t know you could control that much metal!” Enders raised his large crystal hand and extended a crystal claw towards the reforming stone golem.
“Guess we’ll leave him to you then Tin Head.” The Crystal warrior said as his mouth protection moved as he spoke opening and closing causing the crystals to look like large spiked teeth. ”Want to do that trick again with the crystal wall? You push’em north I’ll push’em south?” Enders turned to look at the other mutant as he spoke and felt the air chill as he began forming a wall of ice. Not to be outdone Enders huffed at being given an order by the mutant and quickly moved into position opposite him.
“Lets see what you got Snow Cone!” The armored mutant yelled across the sound of battle raging around them and sliding back into a combat stance he shot a line of crystals out across the field before launching the crystal spires into the air cutting the crowd into smaller, easier to manage, groups. The three were quiet the sight in their up-armored forms as they cut down swathes of rioters. Moving through his own group Enders decisively laid waste to them as he opened up rioters faces, smashed bones and incapacitated enemies as they dared to approach the mutant. The sound of approaching sirens echoed over the noise from the streets as ESU trucks rolled towards their location, once they arrived it would be near time for Enders to acquire the things he needed before departing to find his true target, the person who started this madness. Maxine Ralls.
“That the best you got Snow Cone! Looks like your falling behind!” Enders yelled over the noise as he swept his massive claw through the air catching a mutant flying towards him and with a quick turn he slammed the winged mutant into pavement the large bat wings crumpling beneath him bones smashed.
