The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Got a plot in mind?
MRO plots are player-created the Mods facilitate and organize the big ones, but we get the ideas from you. Do you have a plot in mind, and want to know whether it needs Mod approval? Check out our plot guidelines.
Phase three will start with another brutal attack, and the horrible luck of a pro-mutant protest, and an anti-mutant protest being ‘accidentally’ scheduled in the exact same time and place. Both of these will happen within hours, and it will not end well.
This phase will be short, chaotic, and violent. It will allow you to experience your character at their best(or their worst). As a neutral character, will you run amidst the rioters, or try to help maintain order? As an NYPD officer, will you stand as a pillar of strength in a sea of chaos, or will you crumble to the unforgiving forces of sleepless nights and stressful days? As a member of the Order, will you use this opportunity to further the cause, or will you get lost in the crowd of discontent faces? As a member of the X-Men, will you be a shining example of equality and cooperation, or will you break down in response the haunting cries of “Traitor!” as they echo throughout the crowd? This will be the climax, and culmination of the plot, and it will only run for 1 week, IC, before the national guard is able to get the riots under control.
Let the fun begin! Post any threads here, as well as ideas for plot stuffs! I look forward to your work!
Thanks to Andrea and Jorge for my sigs! I WABBLE YOUUU! AV Roach~
The Amazons live, for as long as the fires of this riot burn. To get in on the girlie action, A) have boobs, and B) nab either me or Alli on the Cbox, or shoot Alli a PM. We're playing this plot by ear, primarily, so ideas totally welcome.
You can join us immediately if you show up at the hospital in Alli's Echoes Raging thread, or you can meet us on the streets in the heat of the Riots. Let us know, and we shall plot. And where we plot, there they shall find the ashes of their scorched earth. <3
As some of you know from Cbox land, I'm having Calley go NYPD after this plot. To earn his keep (and a recommendation letter for the police academy), I plan to have him help some besieged officers defend their station. I'm tentatively planning on using the 19th Precinct as the setting (read: not the same station that the MRC team of detectives is based out of, just a generic one full of NPCs).
I'm largely planning to solo this, due to free time issues in RL (and the desire to concentrate my posting energies on Maxine during this plot), but feel free to allude to a mutant attack on the 19th Precinct around day 3 of the Riots, if you're the sort to weave worlds like that~

Kaitlyn has made the executive decision that she doesn't actually need to be going to school at this particular point in time. There is important burning-this-city-down-related business for her to be attending to, after all.
And Calley, if you don't mind, I may have either of my characters participate in that police station attack. Dorian will start wearing a mask during the riots, and he might use an invisible cannon to blow holes in the side of the police station, forming more entry points for the assailants.
Meanwhile, I'll have to think of ways for Dorian to feed the fire. Possibly involving assassinating a politician who was trying to pass some kind of anti-discrimination ordinance to help quell the riots. Because the proposed ordinance wouldn't be going nearly far enough in Dorian's opinion, and this guy would serve the cause far better as a martyr than as a legislator. If nobody objects, of course.
I'd probably make that a solo, but with some help from Syn he could make it a lot harder to trace back to any mutants (her power is so great for scheming)
And here's another idea: Dorian will probably take a bunch of angry rioting mutant types along to wreck a bunch of businesses which he knows discriminated against mutants in one way or another. He will anonymously publish a "looting list" of businesses that should be attacked by the rioters during the riots, because they're part of the entire system keeping mutantkind down. The list will show up on fliers posted all over the city, letting rioters know what places to wreck. Restaurants that didn't allow visibly mutated patrons would be top on the list.
For the attack on the 19th Precinct: actual thread or mutually planned solos? (I still lean towards solos on my end, due to le Free Time, but I'm totally game for working in Dorian's some crazy masked mutant's invisible explosive attack making his defense of the station a whole heck of a lot harder. You can assume that said station is defended by random human cop NPCs and one traitorous mutant catboy (...who can annoyingly shift the worst of the rioters to relatively harmless mice and lobsters and pink fairy armadillos, if they get too close to him).)
Welp aside from getting himself shot by Rupert while once again trying to help someone out, Drewbie will probably be wandering about the city breaking up fights that look to be getting too out of hand i.e.: about to straight up murder someone. So if you want to see someone with a sword and (insert hair color here) hair breaking up fights while you are out and about looting and what not feel free!
Likewise Athena, your friendly neighborhood EMT, will see all sorts during this so if you'd like ta meet her just shoot me a PM!
Another little addendum from the folks at the Mansion. It has been suggested in cbox that the Mansion be put in lockdown. Under eighteen and your butt stays put. As Calley so eloquently put it:
"The city is on fire. Marshmallows are on lockdown, and so are you."
At this point, all able and willing X-men would be out trying to help with the riots, or keeping the mansion locked down to ensure the safety of the students.
As for the police officers involved in the beatings, I will be writing a solo in which Roach tracks them down to completely remove all of the witnesses. If any order members would like to assist in this, PM me~!

After some contemplation I decided that Mahadevi will open up her temple as a sanctuary for "gifted people". Even though she does not identify as mutant, she believes that Americans scandalously under-appreciate people so obviously blessed by the gods, so she will accept any mutant refugee (as long as they don't cause trouble). It is a building that has been converted (mostly on the inside) into a Hindu temple, with some heavy private security outside, close to the Indian embassy. This is pretty much all the idea I have, if you are interested in plotting, PM me on the Mirror account.
