The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Since I'll mostly be studying until my exam tomorrow (Tuesday), I think I'll take the time to do a little planning for Aiden's IC introduction!
As seen in his bio, he's a distinctly unsocial snow mutant who very recently lost his brother in a car accident, turned out to be a mutant (although he thinks he just heals, and doesn't know about the rest of it), and would have been disowned by his parents for being a mutant if he weren't their only kid left. Instead, he's been packed off to the Mansion to finish his education out of sight and mind. He also dislikes mutants (and a fair few other minorities, to be honest, including some that he belongs to), so funzies should occur.
So, for initial plottings, would anyone like to meet him when he first shows up? He won't be likely to wander far from the school for a while at least, though after a few days he might just end up having a mental breakdown from being surrounded by mutants and bolting into the city or something. Lots of possibilities.
I am also rambling and starving, so I will throw him to the wolves now. Go. He scars nicely.

Oh hey, impending mass-posting time! Perfect opportunity to overload on threads
So! Aiden's kind-of-not-really settled in. He's just getting past a bit of a mental breakdown thing, thanks to a cold and the roommate who inadvertently caused the breakdown, and once he finishes sorting himself out he will be far easier to interact with :3
What I'm looking for in threads are random Mansionites, mostly, who won't freak out at him wearing sunglasses and scare him back into his shell and can help him slowly work his way into actually knowing more people than his roommate (Persi) and the guy who dragged him into his roommate's punishment (Cafas). He's going to be trying quite hard to be friendly, at least by his standards, but he's totally out of his depth still and would probably do best with friendly people who aren't too uptight XD Short threads, plotiful threads, zoomy-zoomzoom threads while I have so many hours of just supervising a puppy with healing eyeballs, all is welcome!
What people get out of such threads (other than, you know, threads) is the chance to make friends with a personal air conditioner who could wind up beating evil threatening people into pulp if need be.

Friendly and not too uptight? I think Liz can be your man woman! She completely empathizes with anyone who is hesitant to meet others and has experienced self-imposed isolation before. She great about talking to people and looking after them as well as trying to cheer them up. To makes things better, she's often in the company of one kind of animal or another, usually her pet parrot Nico or a friendly German shepherd named Rufus. Or she could be the animal, and have a merry adventure thataway.

Aiden grew up with a shepherd he wasn't too attached, but that could either make him cry or cheer him up XD not sure, and I think either one might be able to work?
He might not be sure how to respond to being looked after, but he could sure benefit from a little guidance!

Would you prefer the girl with the dog, or the girl inside the dog's head? That would give you the option of having a human to talk to and a dog to play with, or you could have an unusually smart dog who is extremely perceptive of everything you do. Either way could be fun.

Hmm..... if the dog did make Ai break down, he'd feel a heck of a lot better if he didn't think there was a human around to notice XD I'd like to get him to talk to people though, actually talk and converse and maybe even dare to talk about himself a tiny bit, so maybe the girl with the dog?

If you're at all interested in Aiden meeting a highly visible mutant, Kiva's a friendly sort of person and lives in the Mansion now. She's not likely to even blink at his sunglasses since she's covered in scales and has claws and wings. She's also an artistic type who's often carrying around a sketchbook, and has a very sweet, friendly black cat for a pet.

Sorry this is late! Forgot to keep a closer eye on this. A thread would Kiva would be perfect right now, if you're still interested! I had a plottyful thought explosion a few minutes ago and realized that the perfect trigger for Ai's next phase of social/emotional development - would be meeting a visible mutant (and getting along with them, without any emotionally damaging horror stories about people targeting visible mutants or anything XD)!
If other people are watching, multiple visible mutants could be involved in giving Aiden the guts to try letting people see his silver eye. Possibly with (gentle) open encouragement, but that would probably best wait until Aiden trusts them at least a little.

Oh, I'm certainly still interested. Kiva needs to meet more people, especially around the Mansion. And there's no horror stories here; the big dragon woman's had a very normal life, at least compared to most. Some harassment and fights, sure, but nothing she dwells on. Kiva's the type who tries not to let what she is define her when she can, and is very much a gentle giant.

Well, Kiva's got a day job, so she's more likely to be hanging around in the late afternoon or evening unless it's her day off. Sleepless nights where she wanders out of her room in the middle of the night happen, but they're not all that common. She likes to sketch things out on the grounds or hang out in the living room, mostly, but I think I can think up reasons for her to be most places around the Mansion if need be.

Aiden probably won't be going near the living room for a while, considering how his thread there with Leon is headed XD He tends to prefer cool dark corners outside for his general time-killing, since he does like being outdoors but would really rather not risk dying from heatstroke (he's sensitive to heat thanks to his mutation). Is there anything in particular she likes to sketch? Aiden likes to draw as well, though he's guarded about it and too shy to approach someone else, but maybe they could end up drawing the same thing from different angles or something, and then notice each other? -musesmuses-

Kiva's a little heat sensitive, herself, actually. Her scaled skin doesn't allow her to sweat. She tends to adhere herself to shady spots on the hot days and carry a bottle of water if she's going to be outside for any length of time.
As for what she likes sketching, her main focus is on living things: People, plants, and animals (it's pretty much impossible to flip through a sketchbook of hers and not see an image of her own cat in there somewhere). She'll do a quick sketch of pretty much anything that catches her interest if she's in the mood to and it's not moving, though.
If they did end up sketching the same thing, Kiva would probably end up making some sort of observation about the subject--not him sketching it, but the subject itself--to see if she could start a conversation.
