The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Crap, a keypad. I left my laptop back in my room, maybe we should go get another car.” She grumbled and kept an eye out for any trouble. So far no one was around and they didn’t look like they were guilty, the pair were obviously professionals.
Ty looked rather confidant when he saw the keypad and took off his glove to touch the car. He read out the numbers and got them into the car without a hitch. “What the heck? Are you like a medium type mutant or something?” Her cold blue eyes were wide as he unlocked the door and she hopped in.
Before she knew it, Ty had hotwired the car and it roared to life. She was rather impressed and the devilish smirk on her face clearly stated it. She looked out the window and saw a very irate looking man running up the street towards them in the rearview mirror. “Umm I don’t think it matters where we go right now just as long as we go, someone’s coming and they looked pissed! Go Ty, GO!”

"I'll explain in a minute," Ty replied, seeing the same man in the mirror. "Alright, let's see what this prick-car can do!" He threw it into drive, then hit the gas, the car roaring to life and tires squealing on the pavement as he blazed a trail down the New York streets, taking as many side-streets as he could to avoid traffic.
Then, he snapped on his seatbelt. "Okay, so if I touch something, I can see the past of the object, what the object's been through, and things it's 'seen' if you will. It's a new car, and the mirror is in the best position to see what I needed to. So, I saw the owner typing in the code every time he typed it in." He smiled, loving this.
Kenzi laughed as the car roared to life and they were off like a shot. The man clearly cursing them as they sped away from the scene of the crime. She was starting to like this kid!
He told her about his power and she grined. "That's awesome! Must be really handy with your choice in entertainment." She winked and watched the roads for any signs of police that might be tailing them. "So where sould we go, or are we just going to go joyriding for a while?"

Ty chuckled. "Yeah, it has its ups and downs. I can only half-control it right now. Luckily it's a new car so I didn't get too much of a headache from it," he replied, winking back.
"I'm good for just cruisin. You know, unless you have any ideas while we have this baby. I'm open to suggestions." The redhead turned up the radio, smiling as a familiar song blasted through the speakers.
So much for the golden future, I can't even start I've had every promise broken, there's anger in my heart You don't know what it's like, you don't have a clue If you did you'd find yourselves doing the same thing too
Breaking the law, breaking the law Breaking the law, breaking the law Breaking the law, breaking the law Breaking the law, breaking the law
"Heh, if nothing else, I compliment his taste in music," Ty remarked, grinning even wider. It was hard to believe that just that morning, he was as down as he could be. Now, he was on top of the world again.
Kenzi sat back and relaxed in the seat of the car. They looked like they were in the clear and that was good. She looked over as Ty talked a bit more about his powers. Just like most mutants there is always some control issues, always some quirks to deal with. "Well headaches aren't cool, that has to be a total bummer. As for the half control, aren't all of us in positions like that?"
As the song blared through the speakers of the car, she smiled and closed her icy eyes. Bobbing her head to the beat and listening to the words. "Well if nothing else the song sure is fitting to what we are doing Sugar. She smiled, her eyes still closed as they cruised around the streets of New York.

Ty nodded in agreement, eyes focused on the road, both in front and behind. "Yeah, you're right. Everyone has some sort of weakness. Something to keep them in check." The song changed, but Ty turned the station off, listening out for sirens.
He stayed silent as his mind wandered a bit, sort of lost in his own thoughts as those green-glove clad hands gripped the wheel. Ty kept driving, and city soon turned to countryside. "So...whatcha wanna do? I mean...we can return the car--ish. Or whatever. I just sorta like a set plan of sorts when I'm stealing cars." He flashed a nervous grin.
Kenzi scoffed at Ty’s comment. “Heh, yeah. Seems like we can’t even be gods amongst the men. Sure give us powers, make us awesome and scary. Oh but wait! There’s a small catch! You either have a limited tank of gas, it cripples you, or it’s a totally useless power that never runs out. No matter what we still get screwed! Let us be labeled as freaks of nature and have people wanting to hunt us down, but leave us rather defenseless! Sounds peachy freaking keen to me!”
Kenzi took in a deep breath after her little rant and looked over at Ty, she frowned slightly and sighed. “I’m sorry. Sometimes I just really hate being a mutant. But either way, I’ll always hate the humans. Judgmental jerks!"
Turning her head back out to the window and watching the countryside make it’s way into their view, she heard Ty pose the question of what they should do. She shrugged her shoulders and smirked. “You are the one that said we were flying by the seat of our pants on this one.” She laughed and thought for a moment. “ Well I supposed we can return the car eventually, but we might as well enjoy it for a bit. Are there any fields around here? We should go do doughnuts in a field or something like that. Then we can go back and drop this car off someplace, maybe get a bite to eat?” She posed the question and wondered what Ty felt like doing, she didn’t want to be the one making all the plans given that she was the one trying to make him feel better.

"Yeah, tell me about it. Maybe it's mother nature's way of keeping us in check. But as for humans..." He gave a smirk. "It's almost like...they can judge all they want. We're still better than them."
At Kenzi's suggestion, Ty's grin got a little more insane as he turned the car onto a country back-road. A muddy country back-road. Pulling into a field, he followed her suggestion, doing donuts and just driving crazy. In the process, he slung mud all over the blue car. The redhead let out a cackle.
Suddenly, the car stopped, only spinning wheels. The car had gotten stuck in its own rut, and Ty couldn't help but laugh. "I shoulda known," he murmured with a laugh.
Kenzi smiled back at Ty as he spoke about them being better than humans. He was right, they were better and the human scum was just jealous of what they could do. Sometime the two of them would have to go cause some real trouble, but for now this was fun.
Her icy blue eyes peeked out from the corner of her lids at Ty, his insane grin was rather intriguing. Suddenly he pulled them onto an old muddy back road and into a field where he began to spin the car in circles like she had suggested. Ty was cackling like a mad man and it made Kenzi burst out into a fit of laughter. She was loving every minute of this. The crazy driving, the wild freedom, even the company was turning out to be great!
Then it happened! The car was stuck in the mud and there was no way they were getting out of it. Ty commented on the situation and Kenzi just chuckled. “Yeah, damn snobby city folk don’t know how to put on anything other then racing tires. Next time Sugar, we steal a truck.” With a sigh, the raven haired woman pulled down her sleeve and opened the door to the car, carefully wiping down her prints so that she couldn’t be traced to the crime when the car was eventually found.
She looked around for anything that might help them out of this situation, but sadly they were smack dab in the middle of a field. She groaned as her favorite black platform boots were now coated in a layer of mud, she was going to have a hell of a time walking through this in these boots and an ever harder time getting them cleaned off afterwards. Oh well, it was the price of having a good time she supposed.
The Summoner sighed and dug her hands into her pockets. “Crap!” She exclaimed and muttered to herself in some colorful language. “I must have left my cell phone on my night table, do you have one?” She asked hoping that Ty had one so they could call someone to come and get them before it got dark. She was new to the area and didn’t even have any idea where they were at this point. At the very least a phone could tell them where they were and how to get back home.

Ty sighed, cursing under his breath as he hopped out of the car. "Yeah...we're stuck good..." He chuckled at Kenzi's suggestion, shrugging. "Or a Jeep...or something better than this. And...I left my phone too. I was in such a hurry to leave...Damn it..." He leaned against the car, looking at the soon-to-be setting sun.
"Doesn't look like we'll be getting out of here tonight, either. I mean...we can't push it, and I doubt calling a tow truck is such a hot idea, all things considered...Any ideas?"
The Summoner’s icy eyes almost glazed over as a small pang of fear jumped into her stomach. Ty didn’t have a phone either. They were in a real pickle now. How the hell were they going to get back home?
Trying not to be consumed by the sense of panic, Kenzi took in a deep breath and looked around at their surroundings. Across the field there was an old barn. It wasn’t anything fancy, heck it was more along the lines of scary really. That old dark and dingy looking wood, like the barn had been around since the pioneer days. It was still in one piece and it had a roof on it, so really it would just have to do for tonight. Maybe in the morning they could wander to a nearby house or store and call the Sanctuary for some help.
Pointing out the barn, Kenzi looked at Ty and sighed. “I guess we are going to have to spend the night in the Amityville Horror barn over there and try to get a hold of someone in the morning Sugar.” She didn’t like this idea at all, but it was really their only option at this point and they were just going to have to deal with it.

Where Kenzi's showed fear, Ty's eyes showed anything but. Hope, determination, faith. He looked to the barn, giving a small shrug. "Better than nothing. We can try again in the morning. Long as there are no headless horsemen or psycho-butchers in there, we'll at least be safe. And warm. Hey, I've done alot worse than barns," he said, looking at the positive.
"Yeah, that might be the best idea. I was leaning towards waking up tomorrow, jacking another car, and hightailing it home." He looked at their intended shelter, then back to Kenzi, and pulled out his knife. "I'll be right back. Gunna check out the place before we crash there, just in case."
With that, he turned and headed towards the barn, carefully opening the door and peeking inside. Ugh...it smelled of old hay and seemed to have been abandoned for years. The hay in question was piled up neatly, but definitely not fresh. Other than that, there didn't seem to be too much out of order. He found an old blanket on top of a crate, but that was about it.
Minutes later, he returned. "There's nothing in there, really. Some rotten hay, a blanket, some old crates, maybe some lanterns or a candle or two, and matches...We can make due, though."
Kenzi looked at Ty and saw no hint of fear as she pointed out the run down barn to him. He actually seemed rather hopeful about staying there. That made the raven haired woman relax slightly, well until he mentioned headless horsemen and psycho butchers. She crossed her arms over her chest and gave him a rather unimpressed look. “You know that isn’t helping any!”
It was then that Ty revealed his plan to get them home when the sun rose the next morning. It sounded decent enough anyways. Better then anything she could come up with at the moment. “Well let’s hope we can find another car to jack out here in the boonies. Have a feeling we may need to do some walking before we find one.”
And then Ty became a bit of a hero. He pulled out a knife and headed off to the barn to investigate and make sure they were going to be safe. Always curious, Kenzi followed him until they were about 30 feet away and waited, her arms still folded across her chest. She tried to peek to see what he was doing but before long he emerged unscathed and told her what he had found inside. “Well that doesn’t sound so bad. Guess we will just have to make do and try to stay warm Sugar.”
With that, the Summoner started to make her way towards the barn. She peeked in the door before she went inside. The smell of the old hay hit her like a brink wall and she gagged. “Holy crap! That smells terrible!” She glanced over her shoulder at Ty. She knew they had no other place to stay so she put her arm over her nose and trudged inside. Her nose would adjust to the smell eventually, but for the moment it made her want to throw up.

Ty nodded, walking beside her as they went to the barn, this time together, now that he discovered it was safe. "We'll be fine," Ty reassured her. Pulling his shirt so it covered his nose, he followed her inside.
"Yeah...the smell blows, but there's a nice opening in the loft up there. And...as far as staying warm..." he blushed a little before adding the next part. "Well, there's only one blanket, so I hope you don't mind sharing. Just for a night, of course. If there were better options, I'd pick those. Unless you want to sleep in the car?" Ty shrugged, cracking a small smile.
