MutationsMutation description: Sound Manipulation - Fundamentally, this is the ability to control it's frequency, the period, the wavelength, wavenumber, amplitude, pressure, intensity, speed, and direction of sound waves within the normal ear's perceivable range.
Strengths:This mutation allows Michelle to change sound to suit the situation. She can quiet foot steps to that of a mouse, amplify the music from her ear buds to fill a concert hall, lower the bass of an impact to rattle the entire core of a person, or cause a person's voice to squeek like a mouse. Her hearing has also improved due to the constant state of music blaring in her ears. This allows her to hear others as normal over the loudest music she has.
Weaknesses and Limitations:Her body has become literally tied to music. Her heart beats in time with the meter of music she is listening to. For her heart to beat continuously, she must constantly hear music. Even if there is sound of a city around her, if there is no music, her heart will beat in time with the loudest sound in the area and this could cause her heart to stop or speed up to the point of a heart attack. This need for music leads to a chronic case of insomnia, granting her maybe 4 hours of sleep a night. She can not alter her own bodily noises, such as her heart beat or stomach growling, or even her own voice. She must have exposure to the sound before she can alter it, So a soundproof wall will stop her from affecting the sound of a gun firing from the other side. While she can change the sound, she can not alter the notes or words of the sound. This also means she can only affect sound within the normal human distance of hearing, 50 yards
Physical AbilitiesGeneral Physical Capabilities: Her Speed, Reflexes, and Flexibility are on par with most athletes due to her cheerleading and gymnastic practice.
History Of Your CharacterMichelle was born in Hartlepool, England to American Robert Blankenship and Beatrice Robertson. As she grew up she loved listening to the music of the local musicians and playing on the beach near the town wall. While her life was pretty normal growing up, she never saw it coming when her parent split up when she was 13. Her father was awarded custody of her since he was the primary money maker of the coupling. When the divorce was finalized, her father whisked her away from the only home she ever knew to New York City, and more specifically Queens.
Dealing with the pain of losing her mother over an argument, Michelle took to the streets after school to bide her time and stay at home as little as possible. Late one night as she was trying to get home to sleep, she was surrounded by a group of boys from the high school. Fearing for her life, she tried to run but was grabbed. Clenching her entire body bracing for what they were to do to her, the sounds of the city came alive in volumes too unrealistic. Even the voices of the boys were fluctuating wildly and their hearts could be heard for a clear city block. When she told her father about the attack and how she just wished something would make noise to catch their attention and then everything made noise, he made sure no one else was around and locked the doors. He told her all about mutants, at least what he had heard. That it was something for her to keep away from everyone because one would never know just by looking at her.
That night at dinner, the power went out in a brown out turning off the radio. Michelle fainted almost on the spot and landed face first into the mashed potatoes. Her father checked for a pulse and found none. Calling 911, he started to preform CPR but got no response. It was only a minute later that the power came back on. With the return of the radio, so too came her heart beat. Her father listened to her heart and heard it in time with the music. It was strange but quite evident that it was matching the music as songs changed. Over the next few months, the two experimented with her abilities, to try and gain some control over them, but they knew they were over their heads. They needed help, but who could one call. Michelle decided to not hide away and just return to school, she could keep her iPod on low so she would sty alive and no one else could hear it. In high school, she made friends with Penelope Poulsen, who talked her into trying out for the cheerleading squad.
The audition was done in front of a full set of bleachers. Penelope and Michelle tried together. Using her powers sparingly, she amplified the song without distorting the clarity and Penelope's voice really echoed with the crowd. These additional sounds got the crowd moving and grooving and earned the pair a spot on the team. She is now in the end of her high school career and looking at College Cheerleading Opportunites, all without her nature being known.

Sample RP:With the chair rocketing towards her, Michelle simply stated "Eep" and then ducked before the five pound folding piece of aluminum and fabric smashed into her face. Stuck in her cheerleading uniform, she had to scurry down low below the benches of the locker room. Who was this guy who could just burst the door of the hinges. No one else seemed to be in here and he seemed to be targeting her. but why? As she ducked behind the lockers, she caught sight of the showers and heard the water running. This gave her an idea. Placing her hand out forward, she concentrated and started to alter the sound of the running water and increase the volume. This should draw the man's attention.
Sure enough he headed towards the sound as it was the only clue to where she was. Bad part. He would be walking right by her. If he didn't catch her before hand, he could see her in his perrifrial or when he turns around from seeing the shower was empty. taking the ear buds out of her ears, Michelle took a deep breath, She had only moments. As the man came up to the locker she hid behind, the feisty English Blonde jumped from behind and amplified the volume to an ear shattering 140 decibles. With the man writhing in pain on the floor, it was time to escape.
