Serena let out a small grin at Rebecca's stuttering with her English, she wasn't rude, and didn't tease her or anything, she just found the mild embarrassment which resulted from it slightly amusing. She caught herself though and managed to correct her mishap.

Serena tried to picture the animal. She had a vague mental image of what he looked like, at least, with a name like "domino" She assumed that the feline was male.

Serena pondered Rebecca's question. She thought she might have had some dogs and possibly a cat when she was younger. She suspected that they were probably her mothers, her father seemed to dislike pets and never really kept them around after they had moved. "Um, I think when I was very little I had a few dogs, maybe a cat, then my dad seemed to dislike pets, so we never had any and after he passed away I lived with my bro. Beetween my school and his job, we didn't really have time for pets." Serena said, slightly sadly.

"My roommate does have a really obnoxious parrot though." Serena muttered with a slight smile.

Rebecca found it hard to think of a reasons someone would willingly choose a parrot as a pet. As far as she knew, parrots were not very cuddly, and they were almost always much louder than kittens. Sure, she was biased, but barring allergies, a kitten just always seemed to be the right choice for a fuzzy livingmate.

Rebecca nudged Serena playfully. "Well, if you e'er want a nice, nae annoying pet, you can always borrow Domino. Well, as long as you treat her well. Bit you dinnae seem like a meanie." Would someone mean help her search for the kitten in the first place?"[/color]

Choosing to focus on the parrot's owner than the colorful bird itself, she commented, "Ah hope your roomie's less obnoxious than her birdie."

Serena smiled at Rebecca's offer. "Thanks." [/color.] She wondered what Rebecca would normally do in her spare time. She mentioned she had a girlfriend, so Serena suspected that she would spend a fair amount of her time with her.

Serena let out a small giggle. "Liz? Nah, she is lovely. She was one of the first people to really accept me here and I really appreciate her friendship, I'm lucky to have her as a friend." Serena smiled at the thought. Liz had sort of had Serena thrown at her unexpectedly and had just taken her in as a friend.

Serena gave Rebecca a warm smile "What about you? You mentioned a girlfriend, what is she like?" Serena said with a lovely tone.

Rebecca ran through the names she had been focused on remembering, but Liz did not sound familiar. Rather, she was pretty sure she knew a Liz, but she was all but certain the girl lived away from the Mansion. It was a common name anyway, and if she was being nice to Serena, she was probably someone good, (and worth meeting eventually.) "Well, Ah'm happy you found someain tae be friends with."

Serena's question action segued well from what Rebecca was already saying. "My girlfriend Agnes and her sister were actually the first friends Ah had here when Ah moved from Paisley."

It was always nice recalling her first weeks getting to know the people in her life, especially her favorite garden fairy. "She's wicked sweet, and pretty wi' buggy-like wings-- most o' the time, anyway." Rebecca was also a fan of Agnes's adorable antennae when they made appearances. "She's verra nice. Ah kinda took her from someain else, and we had a little break recently, bit it's all better now." There were rough beginnings and some complicated middle-stuff, but they were on track now.

"And Ah'm rambling, huh? Sorry." Rebecca was surprised to see just how loose-tongued she was talking with Serena. She hoped she didn't bore the girl to death or make her feel awkward with the personal history.

Serena listened to Rebecca describe her girlfriend Agnes she said her name was. That was a rather interesting name, Serena also decided that Victoria had a rather lovely scottish accent. She liked it, she liked people with accents different to those of the others around new york, she wasn't terribly fond of her own.

Buggy wings? That must have been part of her mutation... Rather, it had to be, because that didn't sound normal at all. It didn't sound beautiful though, if the way she had described it was truly how it was. She smiled as Rebecca went on to describe her and her girlfriend.

Serena paused in thought for a moment, the idea of a boy, or girlfriend had always seemed a little odd to her, she had seen people whom she thought were attractive sure, but she just assumed that she would never meet a person who she could connect with on that sort of a level.

Serena shook her head at Rebecca, "No, not at all, I like hearing about people, and their relationships, they intrigue me, I guess I'm just stange like that." Serena added with a crooked smile.

Rebecca shook her head almost aggressively at Serena's claim. "Tha's nae weird. Ah'd say that jist makes you a good listener." Or at least a patient one, if she was willing to deal with Rebecca's ongoing external monologuing. "Ah like tae listen too. Ah swear it isnae jist me going on and on all the time. Like if you ever need someain tae talk too, Ah'd totally do it. Ah'd even keep things secret if it was about a boy, or a girl or whatever." Despite her situation, Rebecca always seemed to default when assuming other girls were straight. She was apparently cursed with a broken gaydar.

"Anyway, rambling again." She was beginning to accidentally pry into personal areas, so her logical solution was to switch to a fairly common topic at the mansion. "Sae... you're a mutant too, right? Mind if Ah ask what you dae?" Even after a year stateside, she was still curious when it came to the gifts of others.

Serena was unsure of quite how to respond to Rebecca's comment, she looked a little embarrassed, infact she began to colour a distinct shade of crimson "I... Urm.... Uh.... Yeah, I don't think that'll happen, I never seem to meet anyone that I like in that way, even if I did, I somehow doubt they would like me back..."

Serena was even more confused about how to respond, how did she explain what she could do without scaring her... She went ghost pale, a large contrast to her earlier redness "thing is Rebecca, my mutation is sort scary, to me as well as other" Serena looked a little upset, she didn't like her mutation, she didn't even like talking about her mutation.

She realised that she was probably being rude, she looked embarrassed again. "I'm sorry Rebecca, I didn't mean to be mean, it's just, my power scares me..." how did she always get herself into these sorts of situations?
