The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tses felt herself flinch ever so slightly at the contact, but she didn't snatch her hand away. She just looked up, a slight mix of confusion on her face, but a little bit of hope mingling with it. She listened as Serena spoke, and sighed slightly. "I don't feel like a good person. And I don't know how to be one. That's just me, that's just life. I accept who I am." She shrugged. But there was a small little sadness that slipped into her voice that showed sometimes it bothered her who she'd become.
"I just ... I had a sister once. And back then, I thought I could look out for her. Help her. I felt like I was doing something good. It's been a long time since then.... but you remind me of her, and maybe that's what got me to come make sure you were ok. I wasn't able to be for her back then, but I don't know, at least I got a chance to be there for you when you needed someone." She trailed off a little, and stared at the tea cup on the table with her mouth in a tight line.
Serena saw the way that Tses spoke, as if pain was hidden in her voice. She smiled at Tses. And gently patted her hand, in a friendly way again. "Hey, best not to dwell on the past is it. You saved me, I'm sorry for your sister, but where someone else would have walked away you didn't.
Serena gave Tses another smile. "I mean it Tses, thank you." Serena also thought it best not to mention her run in with those thugs a few nights previous.
The words lingered in her mind and gave her a strange feeling in her gut. It replaced the guilt she had, and she felt like she had done something good for once. She had been there for Serena. she wasn't a bad person... not all the way. She felt like there was hope for her still, and something could work out in the end. Maybe right now things were bad, but further down the road there was hope. That was enough for now. When she came here to the school to check on the younger female, she hadn't really expected much. Still hurt from loosing Ty, still confused by what happened, she'd just wanted to protect someone else from pain. But she was the one getting help now.
Giving a soft cough, Tses slowly drew her hand away and gave an awkward shrug, then twiddled with the teacup in her hands. She brushed her hair out of her face, then flattened it back down, the fidgety motion sweeping away her surprise. She gave a small smile and then stared at the now cold liquid still clinging to the bottom of the porcelain. "Well, we'll have to do something sometime. Not sure what because I'm not super great at the social stuff in life, but we'll hang out, I'm sure." She said, trying to compose herself back to her laid back punk attitude.
Serena smiled lightly as Tses pulled herself back together. She wondered what sort of apartment Tses lived in did she work for a living? Or did she just steal? Serena couldn't help but wonder how Tses got along with everyday life.
Serena giggled when Tses was saying that they should do something, not just a light giggle, a full on high pitched girly one. She quickly put her hand over her mouth and went slightly red. "I totally... forgot I could giggle...." Serena commented, slightly embarassed.
She cleared her throat and looked at Tses again giving a still slightly red smile. "Yes, we really should" Serena cocked her head to the side slightly and gave Tses a large grin.
Tses stood, and picked up her tea cup, glancing at Serena uncertain what to do with it. She was too fidgety to stay sitting, and since it took so long to find Serena, the day seemed to be fairly exhausted, and night and dinnertime would be coming soon. She was sure she had stayed here at the school a little longer than she should have, but at least she knew Serena was ok.
"I'll have to think of something we can do that's a little more exciting than these tea parties though." She said with a little teasing glimmer in her eye. "Although my idea of fun seems to end up on the explosive side of things..." She didn't know if Serena would find trying to blow up dumpsters or rooftop racing fun, but those were the things she usually did for fun. She figured eventually some idea would come to mind. Or maybe Serena would know something to do. She needed to work on her social skills.
Serena set down her now empty cup of tea and grinned at Tses "Even if we didn't exactly go wild," Serena said with a slight giggle "I think I needed a friendly chat, thank you Tses. And yeah, we'll have to think something up"
She wondered what Tses meant by explosive... maybe that was to do with her mutation... Or maybe it was just a metaphor and Serena was looking too deeply into matters. In any case, she guessed she should give Tses her mobile number so next time she wanted to do something she could give Serena a call and they could organise something.
She pulled out a piece of paper and grabbed a pen from next to the bookshelf and began to scribble down her number. "Her you go, this is my mobile number, for when you need, well want to get a hold of me" Serena handed Tses the number with a smile on her face.
Tses took the piece of paper from Serena, and looked down at the numbers, feeling a little relieved. She always got nervous when people handed her notes, because any words written on them just sounded like gibberish to her. Numbers, she could handle numbers. All the coding and hacking she did had involved numbers and symbols and those made a lot more sense to her. It was always hard to believe she could hack into computer files, folders and buildings, but something as simple as a book stumped her. There were so many things she needed to learn eventually, and hopefully before she started towards the ending edge of her 20s.
"Thanks. I don't have a phone yet, but the cat-lady next door has one I can borrow if I need to. I don't know the number right now, but I can probably call you sometime so you'll have it." She said, tucking it into her pocket. She then held up the teacup and tilted her head questioningly at Serena. "Where should I put this?" She asked, trying to be polite. It was a stretch for her, especially after her long adventure with Sophia. Posh and manners. Ugh, if she never had to say please or thank you, she'd be happy forever. She wasn't sure what exactly made her so uncomfortable with the phrases, but they seemed so sweet and overly nice to her. She liked things to be on the exciting and slightly more untamed manner.
Serena smiled at Tses yet again, slowly turning into a grin "You can just put it down on the desk, I'm going to go and was my cup in a min anyway." Serena said gently. Her voice came out as either incredibly giggly, or very gentle. It was odd, she could never remember properly losing her temper with anyone.
She gave Tses another smile, "If you live in the city you should probably start heading back." Serena said, the ever persisting smile still showing. She didn't really want Tses to leave, she wanted to get to know her better, but she guessed that Tses should probably get home and possibly get something to eat, it was starting to get late.
She decided that when Tses decided she wanted to try something fun with Serena, they could get to know each other better, until then, she had still made a connection of sorts.
Tses gave the teacup one last glance, then set it down as Serena suggested. When she glanced back up, the girl was smiling, in a rather bubbly little way. It surprised Tses a little, and she blinked back. She really wasn't a smiley person herself. Usually when she did smile it was only halfway, or there would be a snark filled attitude to it. Serena seemed like one of those genuinely happy people. It would be interesting to see how they put up with each other in the long run. The girl had a small advantage to many people, though, and that was that she reminded Tses of her younger sister. Ok, so Serena was blond and British, but it was something about the personality. Kelarii was full of smiles, and she could always lighten up Tses's personality a bit when she needed to. Tses suspected Serena would be able to do the same.
"Yeah, I live close to Central Park. If my cab left already It could be a long walk. I don't mind though. That's part of the adventure." She said with a grin and a wink, and chuckled to herself. "Just take care, and don't get too down about stuff. I'll see you around soon enough and make sure the school is still standing." She remarked, and then started moving towards the door, and the general direction of the exit.
