The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Colt nodded as he made his assessment on his statement for Tses, making a single motion across his lips saying that he wouldn’t mention it. Continuing on, he was knee deep in his explanation of what had happened to him when they finally got to his Impala, but he paused, considering what he said. “Well isn’t he just a bright ray of sunshine?” he asked sarcastically, shaking his head. “I don’t think you will have a problem with Tses, but like we both said, the sooner you patch things up, the less likely she is to put some kind of explosive in your pocket when you aren’t looking.”
He considered things for a moment, then unlocked his car, got in, reached over and unlocked the passenger door. As soon as the young man decided to get in, he keyed the ignition, and the custom 351 Cleveland engine roared to life. Without any hesitation, he pulled smoothly out of his parking spot and started moving towards Tses’ apartment. Now that they were secure from any eavesdroppers, he decided to talk a little more openly. “It sounds to me like you need to teach your father a little lesson in humility. Anyone who would ambush and rob his own son isn’t really a man. When that time comes, and it will, if you need help, I can provide it.” The offer was on the table, and be it as he may, he wouldn’t hesitate to repeat the events that happened to between himself and Tses.

"Yeah, Tses is one of those people you have to figure out. Can't just do things any old way, because you'll probably end up pissing her off before you make things better. That is one I learned all too well," he replied with a slight chuckle as he climbed into the passenger seat of the car.
"He does. And I was so close to teaching it to him, too...As much as I'd like to take you up on that offer though, I think taking him down is something I gotta do on my own. He's put me through too much over the years. Besides, he had help doing this to me. I think it'll be better for everyone if I did it." He paused, letting his words sink in, not only to Jacob, but to himself as well.
Jacob simply nodded to Ty’s comment about Tses… not much else could really be said on the matter, and they were in complete agreement anyway. He listened carefully to what the young man said in reference to him handling his situation. He could certainly respect that, but it was naïve to think that if he had help the first time, that he wouldn’t have help again. He waited a moment to touch on this though, as he wanted to consider what he would have done in his situation. Well… he wouldn’t have gotten in that situation, but he had a lot of training and experience that Ty didn’t… not really a fair comparison.
“Fair enough… but what if he has help again? I have no quarrel letting you handle your father one on one… but I would hate to think of you getting your @$$ handed to you again simply because you thought he was alone… again.” It was the truth, and Colt was blunt about it… there was no reason to sugarcoat the fact that he had been stomped because he hadn’t planned as well as his father had. A good plan, regardless, never survived a real fight… but it could put down the framework so that all other deviations could work.

"I'm working on that," Ty answered. "I know what to expect now, and he's not going to get me the same way again. In fact, I think it may be my turn to hunt him, show him how it feels. All I had was a vague note from some 'investigator' saying his client wanted to meet with me and that I should show up and come alone if I didn't want my record everywhere. I need to sit down, do some planning. Figure this thing out."
He leaned his head back, pondering over different thoughts, different ways he could go about this. "The fun part's going to be finding him.But first things first, I gotta make this right with Tses, then I got other things to take care of. All I know is I'm done hiding. I should've been there for her. Shoulda been there for my sister. But that changes now. I'm gunna see after them first, then worry about my problems..."
Jacob nodded thoughtfully as he spoke, indicating that he was listening but not taking his eyes off the road. People around this city had lost their minds when it came to driving, and he had to be alert or someone was going to get hurt when they hit the tank-like construction of his Impala. That… and he didn’t want Baby to get hurt, because even though he could fix her up good as new, he couldn’t undo the emotional scarring. Baby was sensitive to those kinds of things… at least, she was in the mind of Jacob.
“If you change your mind, let me know.” And he would leave it at that. It was about that time that they pulled over on the side of the road, across the street from Tses’ apartment, and he put the old girl into park. “I’ll stay here, just in case she is out and about and you want a ride somewhere else. Still, if she isn’t there, you should leave a note…” He reached over and grabbed a pad of paper and a pen out of the glove compartment, and put them in Ty’s lap. She needed to know that he was trying to get ahold of her, and he hadn’t abandoned the young girl.

"Yeah, I gotcha," he replied, looking at the pen and paper. "Good idea. I can't think of anywhere else to go at the moment. I usually walk everywhere, but I do appreciate the ride and all, dude." Then, he had a thought.
"Actually, wait on me." Then, he stepped out of the car. Hey, that guy still owed him fifty bucks. So it was worth sticking around for, right? Ty walked across the street, and into the apartment, making his way to the apartment he knew all too well. The door was locked, and upon knocking, there was no answer. But he wasn't done yet. He made his way back outside, to the fire escape right outside her window, the one he'd used on Christmas.
Christmas....it seemed like forever ago. Hell, maybe it was. So much had happened since then. Peeking inside, the apartment was dark, but peaceful. Nothing seemed out of place. She just wasn't home. So, he scribbled a note and stuck it in the window.
"Tses, just letting you know I dropped by. I had some thing happen, which I'll explain in person. I was angry, and scared of hurting you, so I sort of hid myself away. But that was a stupid thing to do. I'm a jerk....and I'm sorry. If you never want to see me again, I understand. Love, Fishy"
Moments later, Ty returned to the car. "She's not home...figures," he murmured as he opened the door. "So...did you have any more questions?" he hinted.
Jacob hadn’t really intended to leave the young man, but he did bristle slightly at the word ‘dude’. He hated words like that, but bringing it up as a point was always something he didn’t like too, as a lot of people took it offensively when he told them not to address him as such. Still, he would wait to address it until he talked to him next. He was sure that if the young man got in and stayed inside longer than five minutes, he was likely talking to Tses, but sure enough, a couple minutes afterwards he came back out, and used the fire escape to clamber to Tses’ room. After a couple more minutes, he emerged, working his way back towards the Impala, stepping in and declaring the obvious, and not so subtly asking for his money.
“Yes, I do, actually. Firstly, if it’s possible, could you refrain from using ‘dude’ and ‘bro’ and all those other slang words in reference to a person with me? I would much rather prefer Jacob or ‘Sir’. I, in turn, will show the same respect.” He paused with that, allowing that information to sink in a little bit, and giving him a chance to respond. Then he would follow up with a question he knew was likely to ruffle his feathers. “So… what is it going to take for you to leave the pickpocketing business behind? I’ve already offered Tses a job, and she said she would be willing to try her best to go straight… but what is it going to take for you?”

"Oh, sorry, Jacob. Force of habit; I tend to call everyone dude, heh," he replied, not really expecting that as a question, but it was simple enough. Or maybe his speech just got on the other man's nerves, which was also a possibility. The second question took him aback, and he just gave Jacob this strange stare for a few moments.
"I don't know, honestly. I mean I been stealing since I was...fourteen. A habit you form in six years doesn't break in a day," he answered respectfully. "I mean, I could try, but I'm not sure how that'll pan out, ya know? Especially when ya got a mutation that tells ya an object's history. It's shakier than that, but you get my drift."
Jacob smirked and shook his head. “It’s no big deal, just something that has always nagged at me,” he commented, talking about the ‘dude’ reference. It had a lot to do with the way he was brought up, calling his Dad ‘Sir’ and his mom ‘Ma’am’ for most of his life, he was raised with a high sense of respect for people you were having a conversation with. Some people didn’t deserve that respect, but until the time when he would make that judgment call, he would show it to anyone. He then listened intently as the young man began to speak of his stealing for a living, and was again reminded how much it was similar with Tses.
“Tses is the same way… I’ll tell you the same thing I told her. I realized that it’s not going to be something you can change overnight… all I ask is that you try. If you catch yourself, then you do like you just did with that one guy… you return the wallet or whatever it is, say that they dropped it, and look like a good Samaritan.” He then considered his ability, and a solid idea came to light that he had been considering for a while. “You would make a killing in re-sale. Always knowing exactly where something has been. Any pawn-shop would work good… used cars… anything that people sell back to a business. Would something like that interest you? I can arrange it… I know a lot of used car dealerships.” Which was the honest truth, and using his connections and bragging a bit about the young man’s talents, he would instantly be hired and probably make a lot more money than he ever did stealing.

"I understand du--Jacob," Ty answered, catching himself that time. He nodded when Jacob said Tses was the same way. After all, she was his girlfriend, so of course Ty would know, right? Not that it was really a big deal. The guy was trying to help him. The thing was, Ty wasn't a hundred percent sure that he wanted--or needed--help here. Pickpocketing was his trade; something that, coupled with his sprinting speed, he prided himself on.
"I don't know. I mean I have little control over it, and using it gives me a headache. But it proves helpful in a pinch, and would really do some good if I could reign it in. But hey, if I can get something I'm good at and make fair money in the process, maybe I'll try the whole....reform...thing," he replied, looking at him. The keyword here of course being maybe.
Jacob noted that he had caught himself, and smiled a little bit, respecting the fact that he was willing to take his words seriously and try to curb that little habit. He spoke about his ability, and Jacob nodded, remembering when his power first manifested and how it made him weak and gave him headaches. He was used to it now and had a lot more stamina, but if he did anything serious it always made him really tired. He spoke up, asking a few questions, and making a few suggestions.
“How long ago did your power manifest?” was the first, and once he had an answer, he would continue by explaining the relevance. “I was in the same boat, but you know how you gain control? The same thing as anything else; practice.” Letting that sink in, he waited for a moment before continuing. “I will talk to the guy I know, and see what kind of pay and whatnot I can line up for you. Give it a week or two… I know snatch and grab is a lot easier, but you will feel better when you know you aren’t taking something that doesn’t belong. You never know, you could accidently snatch someone’s last ten bucks that they have to buy food for their kids until payday. Trust me, you don’t want that kind of Karma on your head… she’s a mean one, and she doesn’t forget anyone.”
That being said, he considered their direction for a moment. “So where do you want to go?”

Ty thought about these words, letting them sink in. "I think my first time I was sixteen, then it happened maybe two years ago, I think, and now it's more frequent. But I'm trying to get it under control. Until then, I have these," he held up his hands, the right one covered by his fingerless leather glove, and the left wrapped with a bandage; a look that he had actually grown to like.
"Yeah, I have no problem waiting." As he continued, talking about Karma, Ty gave a dry laugh. "Ya know, that would actually explain alot," he observed, looking over his recent run of horrible luck.
"Actually, I've got a sister that just lives around the corner. Since Tses wasn't home, I was thinking of maybe swinging by her place and then walk back by Tses's later. I've probably been in your hair enough today, heh."
Jacob nodded again, letting him finish talking all together. “If you ever need some practice, I can help you out. I know a few pointers that might make it easier that I learned the hard way. Reaching into his inside pocket on his leather jacket, he grabbed a card that had his number on it, and using the pen that Ty brought back from writing the note to Tses, he scribbled his personal cell number on the back. He then fished out the promised $50 and wrapped the card in it. “If you need anything, you call me… and that isn’t one of those ‘make you feel good’ offers… I mean it. You are only as strong as the people you have standing behind you.”
He paused, and by his tone and the fact that he was making direct eye contact, he was dead serious too. After a moment, he allowed the money and card to be taken from his hand, and made one final comment. “Keep that pocket-knife on you, and I’ll track you down later using it as a signal on where you are. Until I get back with you, try to make that $50 last for this week, alright?” He was basically telling him to try to not steal, but he knew that likely it wasn’t going to fly all that far.

The young pickpocket smiled; he could tell by the tone in Jacob's voice that he meant every word of what he said. Ty took out his wallet, putting the fifty bucks with the twenty, and tucking the card into a pocket where he'd see it every time he opened the wallet, just in case.
"Thanks, for everything. I'll try, but it's seventy, not fifty." Ty shot him a grin. Technically, it was eighty, but...hey no need to know about that, right? Though, he had to blink at the last thing Jacob said. Then, he guessed it had to have been a mutation; after all, Ty wouldn't have pinned a human for being so helpful to another mutant.
"I'll keep in touch," he said, giving a respectful wave as he turned down the street. For someone with a run of bad luck, maybe today didn't turn out as badly as it could have after all...
