The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Yeah, I'd appreciate that," hearing that this notion of getting to know more about the X-men side of this school would happen at a later time. But Sophia got the impression that even if she did express an interest, she was getting blown off for now. She was new, someone that was unknown, but with the way this school accepted new people in the school, it might have also meant that this so called X-men were the same. Though if it was a specialized club for just the very best aiming to help others, than Sophia would surely live up to such expectations and surpass them in due time.
For now though, the idea of being a teaching wasn't a bad thing. Students once again would be a bother, but she survived the last set, and though younger, Sophia imagine herself too brilliant to brilliant to ignore and even if dribbled on and on, the class and teaching part would be the easy part of it. Plus it might very well give her time to continue working on own work and study, but more importantly, it might have meant getting the chance to practice her mutation more. This was more or less a secondary reason for coming, since there was probably more chances to practice her skill more, and get even more control over her abilities than she already had now. But that depended on the amount of teaching work, and from the sound of Sam's comments, she'd be playing a type of den mother too, having to safe guard the students from even themselves and keep order. Sophia wasn't the police or even hall monitor, but certainly her cold gaze and intelligence would wrangle the students in to order.
"As for classes, I'm certain that I could teach a basic physics class. No sense in having a specialized class meant for two," granted such a class would have been right up Sophia's alley, but it wouldn't have looked good if she were trying to get out of work rather than get in to it. Besides, the masses needed the chance to hear her voice, to enjoy it as much as she did. If no one did, then was that really her loss, or theirs?

‘Maya, or Drew, or Shin’ thought Sam silently as he nodded his head, making note of Sophia’s interest in the team. Those three would be good at talking about it with her and given her personality those three… ‘maybe just Drew or Shin’ re-thought Sam deciding that Maya might be a tad too laid back for the personality that Sophia was demonstrating.
”Fair enough, I’ll let Neena and Tricity know we’ll have another addition to the staff next time I talk to them. Tricity will be thrilled.” Sam said smiling a they made their way down the hallway towards where Sophia’s room was.
”Well that is the basic tour, I’m sure you’ll want to do your own exploring in time but if you have any other questions fell free to find me or another staff member. The residents here are helpful enough so if you can’t find me or another staff member feel free to ask them for directions or help.”
Pointing to the door that he had selected for Sophia, Sam shrugged his shoulders ”This is you. Hopefully the room is too your satisfaction…” Sam trailed off and smirked, ”If not make a complaint to my assistant Drew, he handles all those.” Taking a step backward away from Sophia, ”If that’s it I’ll go start filing your paper work along with a few others. Any questions don’t hesitate to ask alright?” Sam said waiting for her shoot him a question or enter her own room before he decided to head back to his office.
"So is that really it?" rather than be so bold to ask, it rather so bold to suddenly accept her. Granted, she was a brilliant person, endowed with stunning looks, clever mind, and convincingly a good person when the necessary time came. But for all this person knew, she wasn't completely telling the truth, and resume or things she might have said could have been half truths or complete lies. How was this a cunning interview or even typical run of the mill stuff.
"I don't mean to be disrespectful or combative, but I suspected this to be more through or perhaps more involved. I mean, you're just giving me a room, very little questioned ask. I surely couldn't have earned your trust, must less your respect or admiration. You don't really know a great deal about me either and it's okay that I move in here with you?" perhaps Sophia should have kept her mouth shut. Maybe this was the way this mansion worked, perhaps you came in and then proved your importance or trust. After all, in theory, there were ticking time bombs and otherwise powerful people, if you did do something, the so called 'X-men' were just down the hallway.
"Not that you have anything to fear, I am a rather qualified person, and this would greatly benefit me and your home as well. I just don't want to get the impression of something wrong when I've done nothing wrong…" now Sophia was trailing, she'd considered this, but forming her words seemed more challenging than she expected. This was a great deduction she'd considered and came up with, but all of it meant a great deal of nothing when placing it together with a number of other issues. Perhaps Sophia greatly over thinking this, and granted she hadn't seen her new room, perhaps it was bigger than she suspected, but that was this Sam person to decide, if she was hadn't just broken the deal already.

It didn’t take long at all for Sophia to express her concern with the tour and how the accepted new residents. Sam raised an eyebrow and waited till she was finished talking completely before he explained how things worked around here. ”Afraid that really isn’t it at all.” Sam said pointing down the hallway, ”If your asking if that is it for the mansion there is hundreds of rooms here, offices, storage, bedrooms, classrooms.” shifting his weight lowered his eyebrow and added, ”I wouldn’t get any work done if I was to show everyone every room in this place. The grounds alone would take up half a day, garden, greenhouse, pool, back patio, ponds. The list just keeps going I only show you the necessities and everything you most likely would need. Figured you’d be the type to want to roam and explore this place for yourself.” Sam said surprised he had to explain this much about the tour. He wasn’t snapping at her or raising his voice he was using his typical relaxed tone like he would with a friend.
”You aren’t just moving in with me.” Sam said blatantly cracking a smile before he pointed to the room across the hall, ”College students, kids, parents, staff and your regular residents, you’ll be meeting a lot of faces soon and it won’t take long for you understand why it is so…” Sam thought for a second on the word he wanted to use before saying, ”Simple to get a room here.” it really wasn’t background checks were just the start.
”I handle the paperwork, that includes the background if I found out you murdered a bus full of kids or caused the empire state building to spew glass from the sky we will be having a very different conversation.” Sam said still relaxed as he explained further, ”I don’t really like to bombard new people to the mansion with questions about their lives because a majority of the kids and residents here are either runaways, orphans, or just abandoned with no where else to go. Everyone here has had some kind of struggle and a majority of them don’t like talking much about it. I for example was one of the kids who didn’t want to talk about my life before this place.” for obvious reasons it would have been difficult to try and explain to Neena that he was a trained killer who had decided to runaway from that life.
Sam lifted one of his hands and ran his fingers through his hear the sweat from practice before the interview causing some of it to stand up slightly. ”We are a home for mutants who have no where else to go, kinda difficult to make them feel not wanted right? I’m sure you’ll earn my trust in time like a majority of everyone else here.” Sam shrugged his shoulders and started to turn around and take a few steps back, ”Sides if you were really dangerous I’d get some complaints from one of the nice blondes who hangs around here.” Good ol’ Kealey and her ability to feel others emotions. Empaths, telepaths, kids that can see into the future were good company to minimize danger in the mansion.
Before he decided to leave Sam smiled again and then asked, ”Good enough explination?” before he added, ”Anything else?”
“Then it would seem you have little to worry about,” consider that of course they did a through background, it seemed less like they were letting a wolf in to their den, and more so inviting a fly in to a spider’s web instead. Granted Sophia would not be so easily caught in any web she hadn’t already prepared herself to get in to, but for now this was a safe haven that Sophia was being let in to. They were certain to be careful themselves about Sophia being in their home, and were certain that she wasn’t about to harm anyone in her wake. Of course it was never her intention to be rude or such, but it seemed as much as Sophia did homework, she had done their on her far better.
“I thank you for this opportunity, perhaps I’ll be of further assistance to you in the future. And maybe I’ll earn your trust sooner than you think,” nodding as she turned toward her room and pressed forward to the door. The key she had been given surely fit the lock, and with a slight turn of the wrist, the door opened forward for her gave her a rather large room to work with. If this was what they gave the adults, then that surely she was fortunate. No setting sun to bother her, a pleasant view of an open field, and what looked like a rather plump queen size bed. There would be necessary modifications, a canopy for the bed, followed by appropriate sheets and décor. A more robust desk and vanity for herself here, but the only thing unnecessary to change was the closer, a rather spacious walk in that left lots of room for her belongings, if barely. Turning back to Sam, he seemed to have disappeared back down the hallway, “This will do…”
