The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

IC: Cyra was pacing, nervous as to what she was going to do now. She had decided to tell Virote the truth, the truth as to her being a mutant with no active mutation. She had told him to meet her at the Botanic Gardens, she had been there for 15 minutes now. Her annoyance and nervousness got the better of her and she started flipping a few of her throwing knives in the air, just waiting. Waiting for Virote and her world to change. And if the Syndicate ever found out, she would be instantly targeted, for death.
Cyra turned and took the flower Virote offered her. She fixed it into her hair, "Virote, I've been meaning to tell you something for some time now." She sighed and put all her knives but one away. Still toying with it, she spoke again, "I'll get right to the point." She stared directly at him and spoke quick and harsh, "I don't have mutant abilities. I have them but they've never devoloped." Her eyes went cold and dark, angry at herself for not being what Virote wanted.
Cyra was surprised, he didn't seem angry, just sad. She leaned into him as she spoke, "I didn't tell you because I was afraid." She laughed mockingly, "Yes, the great and terrible Cyra was afraid." Her voice went quieter, "Afraid that I would mean nothing, no powers basically means I'm a human. A stinkingly low human." She shuddered and turned fully into Virote's hold, "Not that I know of, not that I know of. And I never told you for fear of being overheard well we were at the Syndicate."
"The Syndicate must be killed, or we take it completely over." Cyra sighed, "I need to find someone who can awaken those genes. I'm thinking of checking out the labs." She shrugged, "Maybe someone there can help me." She looked up into his eyes, "Unless you have a better idea luv?"
"Yes the labs is a place to be weary of." She smiled vengefully, "The Syndicate would be fun to kill off, very fun to torture." I'll be going to the labs tomorrow, I'm tired of being like this." She grinned as she shoved him, "We could head back and try that again if you'd like." She kissed him deeply, teasing him with her tongue. "Well?"
Cyra laughed as they rocketed through the air. Smiling inwardly at Virote's kind words her mind was a jumble of thoughts. ' I can't believe I didn't trust him. Damn my parents, and damn me for worshiping them like I have. I've been foolish, at least they fell for me being a mutant. Not just a mutant with dormant powers.' Cyra sighed and closed her eyes against the rushing wind. 'Now to find someone who deals with genetics at mondragon labs.' Aburptly they landed at the balcony to their room. She was put down gently and she grabbed Virote and pulled him into their room. Shutting the balcony doors behind them, she pulled the curtains and then there was music.
Cyra blinked and rolled her eyes at Virote's way of getting up. She stretched and looked over as Virote mentioned his idea. She tilted her head to the side, thinking on the reprecussions. ' Screw the reprecussions for once. I have to do something!' She took a deep breath, "Let's do it. It may or may not work. It's worth it though."
