The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Clyde nodded in agreement as Regan mentioned that the mansion staffers didn't like students causing destruction on purpose. Considering that a lot of destruction would equal a lot of cleaning up, that made sense.
They'd been walking for some time, and according to her, they were getting close. It was quite something that she could tell that just by smell. She also said that he'll have to go on without her past the treeline. Again, with the unneeded concern. Given her behavior, he didn't need to do much guessing as to why. She was probably nervous about walking among large groups of mainly normal people. After all, a large, bipedal cat would stand out in a crowd. If he thought it was hard trying to fit in at a high school, then for people like her, it was nearly impossible to find a place. The fact that she wasn't going to follow further was probably for the better, anyways. His dad would blow a fuse if he heard that he had been around a mutant. It was always so strange how he'd openly reject mutants, yet would refuse to see his own son as one. Maybe it was because he didn't fit the “dangerous mutant” bill.
“I'll be fine on my own,” he reassured her. “Remembah, I'm not actually a kid.”
“Sorry Clyde, I’m not trying to treat you like a child.” She sighed and shook her head and she stepped as close as she could to the tree line without being seen by the people walking by. “It’s just my nature to make sure people are safe, call it a cat thing I guess.” She said with a shrug of her shoulders and turned to face Clyde. “Well here we are, safe back in the city.” She pulled some of the tree branches out of the way so that Clyde could see the hustle and bustle of New York.
Regan looked at Clyde and gave him a small smile, she hoped that he didn’t hate her for what she had done to him today. Sighing softly she chanced saying one more thing before Clyde left her company. “Well if you ever want to come by the mansion, I would love to show you around. I know I kind of botched things up completely, but I would like to be your friend maybe someday, or at least make today’s events up to you.” She sighed again as she realized she was rambling on and on. Finally she just ended it nice and simply. “If you ever need me, just come find me at the mansion ok.”

From Regan's reaction, Clyde realized that he'd probably been hypersensitive to her behavior. She wasn't trying to tease him; a lot of people accidentally acted protective and such, just because of his appearance. “It's not yah fault,” he apologized with a sigh.
They'd reached the forest's edge, and he could see the light from the city. A little ways off, he could see other people walking by. It seemed that Regan did not dare to go further because of that. Instead, she was saying her goodbyes and telling him that he could visit the school sometime.
“I'll keep that in mind,” he said, though he doubted those words. He took a few paces forward, then looked back at her. “Thanks fo leading me out,” he added, before heading towards the city. It was quite late, and he doubted that his absence would go unnoticed at this point.

Regan smiled softly as Clyde gave her a little apology for getting irritated with her concerns and then said he would keep the mansion visit in mind. She was glad that they could at least leave company on good terms. All may not have been forgiven, but they were both civil and content, which is more then Regan could have asked for.
As Clyde thanked her for leading him out she smiled and gave him a little nod of her head. “It was my pleasure Clyde. Take care.” She held the branches up so that he could get out of the thick brush and gave him a little wave. There was a pang of sadness in her heart and the saber tooth was eagerly pressing on her mind, but this time it was different. She didn’t feel angry or primed to hunt, there was almost a sense of loss to it, but why? Shrugging it off, Regan watched Clyde until he disappeared into the crowd of people and then turned to run back to the mansion, it was late and she was exhausted from everything that had happened. Getting down on all fours, Regan took one last look over her shoulder and sighed before dashing into the woods.
