The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Chrys watched as Akshay pulled out his wallet. It was the appropriate thing for a boyfriend to do, but it felt rather silly considering her net worth. Even if the logic was not there, the sentiment was, and she could not help but smile at the gesture, so she nodded, allowing him to pay. She would probably reimburse him later, possibly with dinner.
With snacks in hand, Chrys led the way to their theater, her arm still draped around Akshay's while her free hand was already opening the package, commanded by her notorious sweet tooth.
Looking into the theater from the doors, Chrys scanned the fairly empty auditorium seating. "Alright," she affirmed aloud at her own inner musings. She led the way to the middle seats in the back row. "I like it best up here; I can see the screen, and I can also see the people below me." If it was a horror movie, the people would probably be another source of amusement with hands flying in the air or jumping up in surprise.
Resting her head on Akshay's shoulder, she thought of a question to fill time while the boring pre-trailer stuff was up on the screen. "So is it an expensive process making comics? I mean, I have no idea about the creative stuff and supplies and junk, but I can imagine advertising and production and shipping being a pain." She was after all, part of some sort of distribution company, and even as a figurehead, she had some basic idea of costs.

The tickets bought, the snacks received, there was little else for them to do but finally head into the darkened movie theater. Akshay had just a tiny bit of trepidation about this. While he was certain that they were supposed to be playing the roles of lovers, he was still fearful that at any second she could change her mind and become a monster again. As much as he was thankful that their pain had yet to get too bad, he was still scared of the eventuality. She would turn on him, eventually. For someone as sadistic as her, it was only so long as she could play such a role.
He sighed, though. What other choice did he have? He could run away, he could escape, the watch he worn was deadly (or so she said). And, really, with the resources at her disposal, he was not all that anxious to test out if she were wrong or not.
Nope. All he could do to steel himself up and barrel forward. An opportunity to escape would present itself eventually. It had to…

Akshay simply nodded as Chrys led the way up to where she wanted them to sit. In silence they crept over to their seats and plopped down. Normally Akshay loved to sit directly in the center of the theater but it was obvious that Chrys had her own particular tastes. In silence he sat and started to open his sweet treat.

“Kinda, yeah,” he said with a shrug. “To be honest a lot of money that you make from comics, unless you are part of the big company, just goes straight back into buying supplies, printing, and publishing. All my stuff is Indie right now so I pretty much just supply everything. I cut corners where, but the best I can is kiss up to comic store owners and hope that they will stock my comic for a lesser price then they would normally charge. Of course it helps that I have my own comic store to display it so it’s working out.” He thought for a moment. He didn’t want to fail in his role so he decided to at least reciprocate some of the questioning. “Um, w-what about you? What is your job?”
