The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.

The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> "Hmm... true. But that's why it's nice to get a nerd in here sometimes."
…
Yaay.
Akshay didn’t say it but he was not really all that pleased her with her comment. Then again, maybe he really should have. After all, it was a compliment and he had a feeling that the only way he was going to stay alive was by earning as many compliments as he could. Chrys was a psychopath but it was obvious that despite that, she still had the power here. He was going to have to keep her happy if he wanted to live.
That is if she even planned on keeping her word. It may seem unlikely but he was going to have to oblige the thought.
Things quieted down and again Akshay simply watched the TV show and continue to stroke the young woman’s hair. Hopefully he could get her to tire out enough to just want to sleep and not want to “play” again tonight. While his fingers worked across her scalp, he could feel it in his own scalp and indeed it was relaxing. He hoped it was enough to keep her happy.
>> "I wonder if daddy would let me use funding to make someone a real Flying Fox. That would be fun…Do you think I could make a good Thorned Petal-type villain?"
Daddy? Great, he wondered if that was just some nickname for her psychopathic side-kicked or it really was her father. If so, did he know of her habit of kidnapping handsome, young dancers and forcing them into unspeakable things? With his luck, the man probably did. Judging by the money this woman flaunted, he doubted that her father would care what she did, so long as she kept her powers on other people and not himself.
Right Akshay was wishing he were in that predicament. But, seeing as he was in this situation, he turned his attentions back to Chrys.
“Well, you certainly have the sex-appeal,” he said quietly, keeping his eyes on the TV. God, he hoped that she didn’t have any plans of testing out her villainhood on him. “One of the staples for every female supervillain is the notion of having sex-appeal, in order to tempt the hero off the hero’s path. You’re definitely sexy enough.”
>> “Well, you certainly have the sex-appeal. One of the staples for every female supervillain is the notion of having sex-appeal, in order to tempt the hero off the hero’s path. You’re definitely sexy enough.”
It might have been a tactic, feeding her ego, but it was the correct tactic. Chrys enjoyed compliments, and being called a sexy temptation was right up her alley. With a chuckle, she nuzzled her head against his stomach. "Very much the right answer. You get to sleep in the bed tonight."
It was supposed to sound like a privilege and for most pets it was, but in truth, he was probably going to be in the bed for the night anyway. "It's getting colder and I'd like something to keep me warm."
Chrys was barely watching the television anymore, feeling almost comfortable enough to nap in Akshay's lap, but her phone vibrated against her leg, reminding her of the dinner they were waiting on. She heaved a sigh; she was hungry. "I'll be back." Taking her phone, she put on the purple slippers near the door and moved to the elevator.
After a quick ride down and back up, Chrys returned to the apartment with a large box of pizza. She set the box on the coffee table and fetched two plates from the kitchen. Taking her seat next to Akshay, she snatched a slice of her eggplant and chicken pizza. "Finally," she said before taking a bite, yelping momentarily at the heat of the cheese.
Looking at his side of the pizza, she cringed. "So many peppers. You're braver than me." Perhaps it was ironic that the girl enjoyed pain and punishment, yet spicy foods were a deterrent.

>> "Very much the right answer. You get to sleep in the bed tonight…It's getting colder and I'd like something to keep me warm."
“T-Thank you,” he managed to choke out.
Akshay looked down at the coiled viper that was lying upon his lap. He was suspicious of her, didn’t care for everything that she had done so far, but he knew he had to keep his mouth shut. So far she had been pretty unpredictable. She had seduced him last night and then proceeded to torture him as well as degrade. And now she was acting like the sweetest little thing in the world? What was next? He could only pray and hope it was something that he could survive.
Eventually he would escape…right? This really was not going to be how he dies, was it? He sighed softly as he continued to stroke the woman’s hair. He could only hope that flattery would get him somewhere.
>> "I'll be back."
He nodded and waited for her to go. The ring of the cell phone must have indicated at the pizza had finally arrived. He had to admit that he was hungry but he was not going to put too much stock in that fact that she would give him some to eat. He had to be wary and on his guard around her, just in case she decided to flip and come at him with some new atrocity.
But he held his tongue as best he could.
Before long, he heard the door open and the smell of fresh pizza wafted in, tickling his nose. He turned from the couch to see her saunter back in, smiling.
>> "Finally,"
He smirked back but said nothing and just sat there, waiting. She returned from the kitchen with a pair of plates, set one down before him, and immediately dug into her pizza slice. Almost as soon as she did, she yelped; Akshay followed suit soon after. The feeling of burning cheese in his mouth stung him and Akshay winced. He hated this being connected with her! It was as if the walls of individuality were crumbling around him.
But he said nothing as he instead just kept his mouth open, hoping for the burning feeling to subside. As it did, he took a shaky breath, grabbed a slice of pizza and his plate.
>> "So many peppers. You're braver than me."
He smirked again and followed it with a shrug.
“A little spice can be good sometimes,” he muttered as he blew on his pizza to cool it down and only then took a bite. The sensation of heat and peppers filled his mouth but it was such a grateful heat that Akshay sighed in thankfulness. It was definitely good.
Chrys smirked, thinking that the line sounded more like philosophy than commentary on pizza. It was a philosophy she could get behind, and one she hoped he could understand. "I hope that's what this weeks ends up as for you. A spicy change from the norm." A bit of pain and a lot of flavor. He had plenty of valid reasons to be pissed off, but she hoped he could put them behind them if she let him go. It was not her fault after all; it was just her nature.
And then Akshay took a bite of his pizza. At first, she could feel the heat of the pizza, but then the burning of the peppers kicked in. She stuck her tongue out and fanned her mouth with a free hand. "Ahh, ahh, ahh, buuuurning."
Chrys hopped out of her seat and hurried to her kitchen where she poured herself a glass of milk. Supposedly milk was good along spicy foods. She was not sure if it would still work as well with a simulated sensation, but at least milk was cold and tasty.
Taking her seat once more, she resumed eating her pizza. The exposed air cooled it down enough to eat in the largest bites possible for her relatively tiny mouth. "So tomorrow. I was thinking going out for a movie?" There were plenty of ways to keep Akshay from running away or shouting for help, and sometimes it was nice to pretend she was a normal girl. It was the same appeal a child would find in playing "house;" role playing the silly little things people were supposed to do.
"Or we could play 'Doctor.' Your choice, I guess." They would probably play Doctor eventually, but it would at least be his choice for the upcoming day.

>> "I hope that's what this weeks ends up as for you. A spicy change from the norm."
Had Akshay not been in control, he may have choked upon his food. Did he really just hear her right? She thought she was doing him a favor by “opening” his eyes to a spicier way of life? Was she just so absolutely insane? The wordsmith could even comprehend how in the right Chrys that she was. Then again, if she really was as psychotic as he assumed, it was quite easy for her to assume that she was just helping him out.
Heh, well, in that case. She really needed to stop “helping” him and start impeding by letting him go!
But, again, he said nothing and only continued to eat his pizza in piece. The only thing he could do was bide his time and hope for an opportunity to leave.
>> Ahh, ahh, ahh, buuuurning."
He blinked as he looked up to notice that Chrys was fanning her mouth wildly. The image of this psycho obsessed with pain having to fan her mouth just because of a little hot pizza was pretty humorous. It nearly made him laugh but he didn’t for fear of angering her. As she bolted to the kitchen to get something to douse the flames in her mouth, Akshay smirked slyly.
Two of more of the spicy food filled his mouth before he felt a strange sensation of something cool and soothing coat his tongue. He looked at the pizza curiously but, upon Chrys’ return, saw the glass of milk. There went that bit of fun.
>> "So tomorrow. I was thinking going out for a movie? Or we could play 'Doctor.' Your choice, I guess."
He blinked. ‘Doctor’ or the movies? She seriously thought she was giving him a choice. To be honest though he could imagine what she meant by “Doctor”, he doubted it was actually true and seemed as if it could be far more horrifying. But could he resist not running away or screaming for help if he went out with her?
His stomach turned at the notions, but finally put on a warm smile as he looked to Chrys.
“I…I think a movie will be just fine,” he said resolutely.
It was the response she expected, but she found herself okay with that. Most of the time, a game like "Movie Time" was a pretty dull choice, but something about Akshay tugged at whatever strings of kindness resided in Chrys's twisted mind. Maybe it was that she resented the idea of putting him to sleep, but it was sometimes nice to play normal when she had the right pet-- well, if they were going to go out, she would probably have to change his title.
"Okay. There are rules. A special ankle collar that'll keep you from doing something silly like shouting out. Games are fun, but I'm not stupid." It only took one awkward situation involving a screaming boy in public before a girl developed some failsafes.
Chrys took a big bite of her pizza, finishing the first piece. It was surprisingly filling; another slice ought to do it for her, so she picked another one from the box. "The game is 'Movie Time.' Starting from wake-up tomorrow, you're not going to be 'pet.' For tomorrow, you are 'boyfriend.'" Boyfriend was something people had, so it made the most sense. Husband did not make sense; she never remembered seeing her mother and father go to the movies once, so it was possible married people just never did those things.
After another cheesy, saucy bite, Chrys wiped her mouth with a napkin. "We go to the movies and do the cutesy things. Nothing overly touchy; I don't think people do that at movies, and I think it would be crass. Just little stuff. Like..."
She struggled to pick the right phrase, so when she found it, her tone was almost soft and wistful. "Like how normal people would be." She might have plenty of delusions, but Chrys never had the delusion that she was normal.
Mowing through her last piece quickly, Chrys placed the crust back on her plate and yawned. "I hope you got all the rules. I'm too tired to say them again. Think we can just get to bed soon?"

She may have been expecting that he didn’t want to play “doctor” but Akshay just didn’t care. He was going to put off the unpleasant things as much as possible and hopefully he could get out of this insane situation in one piece. He was being held captive by a psychopath that could easily harm him whenever she wanted to. And, with no idea how her powers worked, he was going to have to trust the fact that being “good” would keep him alive.
At least…that is what he hoped. Judging by the look in the woman’s eyes, she may have been disappointed that he picked the lesser of two evils, but she had seemed ready for that happenstance. Casually he took another bite of his pizza as the young woman turned and began to explain.
Of course this endeavor would be a whole new game with a whole new set of rules…
>> "Okay. There are rules. A special ankle collar that'll keep you from doing something silly like shouting out. Games are fun, but I'm not stupid…The game is 'Movie Time.' Akshay listened carefully. Though it was obvious that he didn’t want to really conform to any of these rules, Akshay didn’t say this. Instead he nodded that he understood. He was to play the part of her “boyfriend” and they would have a “normal” day together. He guessed that was okay and sounded better than whatever “Doctor” implied. He hoped that he could act convincingly enough. In the truth playing any part as being lovely-dovey to her was enough to make his stomach turn but he had to play the game. Playing the game kept him alive.
He nodded.
>> "I hope you got all the rules. I'm too tired to say them again. Think we can just get to bed soon?"
Akshay had already finished his second slice of pizza and, considering the day he had, he was definitely too tired to continue on for much longer. Thankfully all she wanted to do was go to bed. He would accommodate that.
“I got it,” he said. Then, he began his role. If she wanted a sweetheart for tomorrow, he would need to start now. “Come on. Let’s get in bed and I’ll rub your head until you fall asleep.
A short time later, after washing up and unchaining him from the living room, Akshay rejoined Chrys in bed and, as promised, ran his fingers through her hair until they both finally managed to drift off to sleep…
>> “I got it. Come on. Let’s get in bed and I’ll rub your head until you fall asleep."
Chrys nodded sheepishly, now eager to get to bed once her plans for the next day were set up. "Yes. I like that." He was a very considerate person; if she was the type to consider "relationships," she probably would, but someone like him deserved someone stable. It was still sad she would be taking such a nice guy out of the dating pool at the end of the week...
***
The next day, Chrys woke up and unchained the bedroom shackle from Akshay's ankle. She slipped a watch on Akshay's wrist and explained the device to him: if the clasp was somehow undone or broken and he tried to slip the watch off, a neurotoxin would quickly inject itself into his wrist. The same would happen if he strayed too far from Chrys, or if Chrys hit a button on the trigger hidden somewhere on her own person. (The button was on her necklace, but there was no need to give him all the details.)
She walked him out of the room, and from that point her demeanor took a quick shift. She looped her arm around his and kept him close, but less as a prisoner and more as an affectionate girlfriend would do on a date. When they finally made it out of the building and into the open air of the street, Chrys squeezed her arm around Akshay's lean bicep. "It's so nice to get out sometimes, isn't it sweetie?" In his case, it was the first time he was enjoying the outside world in two days.
"Are there any movies you're interested in going to see?" See? She was a progressive fake-girlfriend, more than willing to watch whatever Akshay wanted to see. Totally not the bossy-type who would forcibly drag him to a chick flick.
...Not that she would be opposed to a chick flick.

...
A poisonous watch? Really? Akshay really was close to thinking that Chrys was just now starting to make crap up but really he couldn’t afford to think that way. Judging by where she lived, the amount of money she had, and the level of her insanity, he was fairly certain that she probably had the resources to create something like a poison delivering watch that could be activated with the push of a button. And he was even more certain that she could have made it completely untraceable.
Psychos with money. They just can’t be trusted!
But, despite all that, he had to admit that he was just a tad bit excited. So far he had spent too much time in that apartment. He would get to go outside today! Outside! To feel the breeze on his skin and the unfiltered sun on his face! It was all so much that Akshay had no idea how he was going to react! He hoped he wouldn’t attempt to run off uncontrollably.
First, though, he needed to dress. After his long, restful night of undisturbed sleep, Akshay awoke to find that Chrys had ordered some stuff from the mall for him to wear today. He couldn’t go out in the tore up, dirty clothes he had been wearing after all, right? But, what he was left with now was a pure hodgepodge. Chrys had wanted him to wear clothes like a poor “normal” person would wear but Akshay was not one hundred perfect sure that she knew that that meant.
The jeans were fine. Solid blue, a little stuff, but that was because they were knew. They even happened to be his perfect size so he wore those freely. But the Warrior Woman was a swing and a miss! Sure it was a comic-themed shirt but it was for girl’s! Akshay wouldn’t be correcting her though. It fit, rather snugly, but wasn’t that how all the popular people were wearing their clothes? Last, but not least, but definitely off the mark…an Armani jacket. It was the type of jacket that went with suits, deep black and lined inside with silver-colored silk, but Chrys wanted him to wear it. May not be strictly what normal people would wear, but it was ironic. That was the look she was trying to give him. Irony.
Sigh.
Before he knew it, though, they were outside and Akshay felt the woman’s arms loop through his own. Any other day, in another other situation, maybe he might have been happy. But not today. Today he was just playing part of a happy couple. All part of the game.
>> "It's so nice to get out sometimes, isn't it sweetie? Are there any movies you're interested in going to see?"
He gave her a smile in response and sighed as he breathed in the fresh air. It sincerely felt good. Almost to the point that he wanted to cry. But he didn’t. he couldn’t alert Chrys to how he was really feeling right now.
So, he breathed and offered her another smile.
“Fantastic to get outside, dear,” he said with a nod. Then, steeling himself up, he…kissed her on the forehead. “As for movies, hmmm, I don’t know luv. If you’re in the mood for scary, Haunted Home Surveillance came out. Also that actiony movie Dango. Or that sad musical one The Miserable People. But I’d rather you choose. I’m sure it’ll be great.”
He was giving her a choice. Of course he was actually; it made sense and fit with his sweet (pre-kidnapped) personality. Chrys replied with a smile, before her face became lost in contemplation. "Well, a movie about miserable people sounds a little too sad." She remembered the story from one of her college classes; it was about poor people in France. History and suffering were great, but she could not find herself interested in the plight of commoners.
"Dango is supposed to be good I think, but I dunno... couples tend to go to scary movies, right? So the girl can feel all safe and protected by her shining knight?" It sounded logical, if not a bit cliche. Sure, it was not the most feminist picturing of a trip to the movies, but she had a strong boyfriend with her; why not enjoy the stereotype once?
"Okay, the scary one. Since I have someone to keep me safe. But first." Chrys pulled her fake boyfriend down to her level so she could whisper in his ear. "Kiss me anywhere you want, but not on my lips."
Before waking Akshay up, Chrys was able to get out of bed and walk out of her building and across the street to not only grab a cup of coffee, but to put herself just out of range, resetting her bond with Akshay. "I worked really hard to make sure we could have a normal date without the bond, okay?"
Releasing Akshay, she returned to looping herseld around the young man's arm. "Okay, lead the way, darling!"

Akshay was pleased that she finally made a decision. To be honest he would have been fine with any of those options. He only let her choose because A) this was supposed to be a date and dates usually end up with the woman choosing what she wants to do, and B) since he was still her victim, it was best to just give her the power over situations like this which could lead to her happiness. He would rather that she kept as happy as possible to avoid as much pain as possible.
But a scary movie, why not? How much scarier could it be than just suffering through the pains of being a kidnap victim? Surely not much.
He tilted his head, though, when she appeared to have something more to say. He was going to ask what it was when she leaned up and whispered in his ear.
>> "Kiss me anywhere you want, but not on my lips. I worked really hard to make sure we could have a normal date without the bond, okay?"
…
Normally that first part would have warranted a dirty, inappropriate comeback. But that was under normal circumstances. Considering the fact that he was being held against his will thanks to a poisonous watch, he didn’t much feel like offer her a naught quip so he felt his mouth shut. But as she went on, he began to think…he was free. No more pain? He could just walk away and she couldn’t do anything to herself to make him feel it! Awesome! Where’s a vase so he could smash it against her head?!
…but damn, the watch. As much as he didn’t want to believe that the watch would actually kill him, he had to admit that the fact that she had access to so many resources, it seemed very possible.
Hmm…he couldn’t risk it.
>> "Okay, lead the way, darling!"
He smiled and nodded. It was time to continue the game. Hopefully, in some way, he could get the watch off or at least survive the day. But for now, he needed to play the doting boyfriend.
“Of course, my love,” he said with a warm smile. Wrapping his arm around the smaller part of her back, Akshay led her on towards the nearest movie theater he knew of and crossed his fingers. This would go well. It had to…
Well, at least he was getting a hang of the lovey dovey thing! It probably came natural to some people, and despite his nerdier behaviors, Akshay did strike her as quite the charmer.
Actually, that was a topic worth thinking about. He was a charmer, and not just in the "sex on the dancefloor" way. He had a great personality and, from what she had seen, pretty stable morals. It was rather surprising that he was even single. "You don't actually have a girlfriend, right?" Sure, he was hitting on her at the bar, and he was going back to her place before being knocked out, but some guys could just be sleazy, right? "Like, I wouldn't judge you for getting seduced or anything, but you just seem like the type of guy who would find a girl for yourself."
They made it to the ticket booth, and for a moment Chrys switched into a completely different conversation, rifling through her purse. "Don't think of reaching for that wallet sweetheart, it's my turn to pay." Besides that, she was the one with stacks of money on reserve.
"Two for Haunted Home Surveillance please!" The ticket drone hit a few buttons, accepted her money and passed the tickets through the hole in his glass box. "Thank you!" she replied in a cheery tone.
Once she pulled Akshay away from the booth and out of the worker's earshot, she resumed her previous conversation. "Alright, so what's the story?" She would feel a little worse if he did have a girlfriend waiting, though it would be quickly negated by the knowledge that he was willingly cheating the night they met.

>> "You don't actually have a girlfriend, right? Like, I wouldn't judge you for getting seduced or anything, but you just seem like the type of guy who would find a girl for yourself."
If Akshay had been drinking something, he probably would have done a spit take. Was she really asking him if he was cheating with someone else? The entire walk to the theater had been a cone of silence of the sappy drivel that probably would have earned Akshay an Academy Award. But now, here he was, contemplating a real, true, and deep question. Was there a girlfriend? Yet, even more shocking, did she just pay him a compliment? Sure she had not really spoken down to him since this whole adventure started, but there seemed to be such an earnest and honesty behind her words.
For a moment Akshay was actually touched. Well, that was before he saw the glint of the watch on his wrist. The fancy manacle that he was forced to wear for this little excursion out into the world. Such a conflicting, terrible situation.
They arrived at the theatre, finally, but before he could even respond, Chrys was quick to step forward and make her proclamations.
>> "Don't think of reaching for that wallet sweetheart, it's my turn to pay."
“Um, sure, babe,” he said with a small smile and stepped back. She charged forward to pay for the ticket. God, he probably could have run there. If it weren’t for the watch he may have actually felt brave enough. But the pretty gold band around his wrist was a pretty harsh reminder of his cowardice.
With a sigh he merely stepped back and waited for Chrys to collect the tickets. Heck, at least he would get a free movie out of this…
>> "Two for Haunted Home Surveillance please! Thank you!"
He smiled, a show for the public, as Chrys came back brandishing the tickets. From there, though, it was obvious that he was not off the hook from their previous conversation.
>> "Alright, so what's the story?"
He sighed. Maybe he shouldn’t get to personal. He could always make something up and play it off as real. But the last thing he needed was to get caught in a lie, for whatever reason, and have Chrys take that out on his hide. It was obvious that psychopaths could be pretty unstable. Seeing as he didn’t want to offend her, he figured he might as well tell her the truth.
“Not much to tell,” he muttered as he led her inside the theater. The lines for the concession stands were actually pretty small. Surprising. “Had girlfriends before. Most leave because they can only stand me being a nerd for so long. Usually it happens that they either just talk down to me and leave, or they try to change me. Hah…caught on trying to sell my comics on ebay. I bought them back,” he said with a slight chuckle. But as his thoughts turned back to his latest relationship, he sighed deeply. “Recently, the last girlfriend I just had broke up with me. Or was it mutual? I can barely remember, honestly. I just remember that things were going so good…but we got distant. We just grew apart.” he shrugged again, staring at one of the nearby movie posters. “I wouldn’t have minded working it out. But…I guess she just was never around. So we called things off. No big deal.”
The sad face he had on obviously showed it was a big deal. But it was something that Akshay could get past. The wound, though, was still far too fresh. God, he hoped that Chrys was done with her investigation into his past…
>> “Not much to tell. Had girlfriends before. Most leave because they can only stand me being a nerd for so long...”
Chrys stifled a chuckle at the image in her mind of Akshay patrolling Ebay for comics being sold by some stick in the mud girlfriend. Sure, a case could be made for someone's obsessive love of comics being annoying to some girls, but everyone has an obsession or two.
>> “Recently, the last girlfriend I just had broke up with me. Or was it mutual? ...But…I guess she just was never around. So we called things off. No big deal.”
As they were waiting in line for concessions, Chrys glanced at Akshay's expression as he described his last relationship. He said it was no big deal, but his mood did seem to change, (ignoring the outside circumstances of his imprisonment.) "Well... that sounds like it sucks." Empathy. She has it. "But it could be worse. I'm sure there is a hot nerd girl out there for you. Not like it's the most uncommon quirk around." Boy, it was a good thing Chrys was not a relationship-type of girl, because the hunt for the right guy might actually be a hunt.
"I mean, I get so busy, if I had a boyfriend I'd probably just have to constantly call in other girls just so he wouldn't get lonely." That was how relationships probably worked, right? Made sense to her.
Reaching the counter, Chrys reverted to girlfriend mode. "Ooo, everything looks so yummy! I think I'll have... um, the Crunch Clusters. How about you, sweetie?"

Akshay didn’t know why he said so much. What was the point of it? He wasn’t looking for sympathy from someone like Chrys, nor did he think he could actually get it. Instead all he wanted to do was find something to fill the gap of silence between them. He didn’t want to get quiet for too long because then that would force the two of them to think. And, honestly, right now he was learning that Chrys should not be left alone in thought.
That would lead to pain. And pain was something he really didn’t want to experience right now.
So, he retold his story, talking of Emerald and his break-up. It was obvious, even as he spoke, that he was still affected by it. He didn’t know why, it was obvious now that he stepped back and looked at it that the woman was all wrong for him. She needed to save the world and Akshay couldn’t just stand back and be helpless in front of her. She needed to be with heroes like herself. At least that is what he told himself. Oh well.

We’re they really having this conversation right now? Why did Chrys sound so…interested? It was almost like she really did care? Damn it, she was good at playing the role of the doting girlfriend. No wonder he fell for her wiles back at the club and didn’t realize that she was a complete and utter psycho right off the bat.
But, Akshay let it go. Instead he said nothing response and just found himself being pulled over to the concession counter. Chyrs Ooo’d and Aaa’d over several of the selections before she finally made up her mind.

“Huh? Oh, um…” he peered down at the collection of snacks before he finally pointed to the Gobstoppers. “Just a box of those,” he said and pulled out his wallet. Thankfully Chrys hadn’t stole that away from him. Besides, it was the “date game”, wasn’t he expected to pay?
