The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The hushed sound of the nearby deluge making its way through the reptile’s room rose slowly into the night. A faint green haze began to shade all of the large enclosure, rocks and waterfall included.
11:24
These numbers appeared on a large digital clock on the other side of the enclosure’s transparent wall. Sitting idly between two fairly large branches of an artificial tree, Xiin focused his amber eyes on the clock, his scaled brow furrowing as he did so. He had taught himself numbers while in the library, having found an elementary mathematics and counting text. However, the concept of time still eluded him…
“What do thossse mean? Why don’t people jussst look to the sssky? The sssun and the moon are time keepersss…”
Xiin’s tail swayed slowly at the end of the branch, tapping the fake bark faintly. The lizard’s countenance turned to a rather sullen frown as he overlooked his ‘domain’ that Hunter ‘gave’ him. He slowly muttered under his breath…
“I used to roam half of the Amazon… now I have 500 sssquare feet… whatever that meansss… Sssmall… that’sss what it meansss…”
A disgruntled hiss makes its way from his lips as he looks back to the clock. While his gaze is cast upon the clock, the nearby guards begin to move about rather sluggishly. Xiin studied the guards for a long moment before coming to a conclusion…
“11:30… Humansss get sssleepy…”
With that, Xiin leans his head back against the branch and begins to doze quietly.
IC: Hunter stepped into Xiin’s enclosure and nodded in greeting. “Xiin, I would like you to meet the latest addition to the Kabal, Trista Evans,” he said, introducing Trista who had followed him in.
“I’m currently training her, but soon enough you two will be working alongside one another,” he said, and then stepped back, allowing them to get to know one another. This would be a good opportunity for Xiin to improve his social skills.
“I’ll leave you two alone as I have other things to do. If either of you need to contact me just speak to Gareth,” he said, gesturing to Trista’s driver who had followed them to the enclosure, “and he’ll contact me.” With that he turned and left, heading for the Canteen where a certain spy was waiting for him.
(OOC: Continued in Mondragon labs. Sorry for the quick entrance and exit, but I’ve got lots to do.)
Tris followed Hunter into some sort of enclosure, thinking this was a joke...until she saw him....woah.
Tris knew it wasn't polite to stare, so she didn't.....much, still taking in this lizard guys features....awed certainly, but not frightened, not even really aware of hunter leaving.
She walked forward afew steps. "Hey I'm Trista.....but you knew that (she chuckled, slightly nervous)....and you're Xiin right?" So tell me, I'm new to all this Kabal stuff, dont know much about it, you've been here longer- think its any good?"
Xiin’s tongue fell slowly from his lips and tasted the warm air in the enclosure, the scent changing as new visitors approached. He raised his head and struck a passive grin, his small teeth shining brightly as he saw Hunter and a woman standing on the other side of the glass barrier. Xiin slowly nodded his head in understanding as the man spoke about the newcomer. His grin faltered slightly as he heard the phrase “Working together…” Xiin mulled over the thought for a few moments as Hunter finished speaking and walked away quickly. His eyes moved to the woman and examined her with his large, reptilian eyes, the slits constantly adjusting to the varying light entering the enclosure.
Hunting is much harder with a youngling nipping at my heels… Why does Hunter think that I would work well with… her?
When the woman began to speak, Xiin noted her intrigue but did not sense any fear in her. At this time, the lizard’s smile widened back to its original state. He moved closer to the edge of the two branches he was resting on; the light falling on his face caused his emerald scales to shine slightly. He chuckled deep in his throat at her question, his reply would be simple.
“Yesss… The Kabal isss good. Everyone lives large, glassss bubblesss like thisss one, obeying Hunter’sss ordersss from time to time. Enjoy your ssstay…”
“Oh… and no going out in public… you might ssscare people…”
Xiin then winks to the girl, obviously speaking in good humor.

Trista listened to the summary of the Kabal and nodded, satisfied for now- seemed Hunter liked to keep all his employees comfortable and treated them reasonably well...and Tris had no problem with that.

Trista giggled at Xiin's joke, feeling more comfortable in this conversation; "I dunno, I can be mighty scary at times." Trista screwed up her face and entirely failed to look scary. "Maybe you should come out and protect the uniformed from big scary me." She raised a eyebrow, the expression meant to be a fun challenging sort.
