The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jebidiah had barely blocked the blow, and was completely unprepared for its power. The strength behind the blow knocked him backward, leaving him staggering to regain his balance. However, rather than press the attack Hunter circled.
“You’re good, better than I had expected.” Jebidiah’s reflexes and skill were in top form for a man of his age, and he knew how to fight to win. He wondered what Jebidiah made of his speed and strength, but mainly about his experience.
There was no one finer with a sword that Hunter had ever met, and he was unlikely to ever meet someone who was. No matter how intensive your training, it did not make up for the experience of thousands of sword fights.

He halted. He could have finished me....
Despite the fact that the duel was only to first blood, Jebidiah saw it as Hunter sparring his life.
"Don't patronize me Hunter...." Jebidiah said almost painfully. Jebidiah sheathed his weapon, "You win." He shook his head slightly, "You do not have a mere decade of practice... And I have met none quicker then a blade then me." Jebidiah looked up the the circling man, taking in his appearance, examining him more closely. If I ever need it, all i need to do to best him is separate him from that sword... Jebidiah thought, yet still knew that he would surely never try it. He owed loyalty to the man who had spared him.
Hunter deactivated the magnetic repulsion field. Jebidiah had managed to assess that Hunter was superior and conceded the duel, which earned him more respect. Dakota would never accept defeat in such a manner, and that Jebidiah had the sense to do so before suffering an injury showed him to be level headed.
“You are quite right, I have much more than a decade of experience. Also my reflexes and strength are superior to any humans’. However, your swordsmanship is some of the finest that I have seen, and you proved more of a challenge than many of my previous opponents.”
Hunter went over to the table and returned his sword to its sheath. Turning back to Jebidiah he said, “That was impressive use of your power. I know that you can’t use it in sunlight, and that could prove to be a liability, so I have devised a way around that problem.”
Opening a steel chest on the table he pulled out a pair of bracers. They were almost as ancient as his sword, and had also been improved with a magnetic repulsion field. They were studded with amethysts, ten in each bracer. The amethysts were all about the size of a quarter.
Turning back to Jebidiah Hunter presented him with the bracers. “I know that you can store your blue fire in gems, that’s how you use your sword during the day. If you store some in the amethysts before battle you will have a supply even in broad daylight. They also have a repulsion field similar to my swords, activated by pressing the middle amethysts. That should allow you to block swords, crow bars and so on with your forearms without injuring yourself.”

Decades of experience? Faster then any human? What was he?
How could the hunter have possibly known that amethyst stored his coldfire to a great capacity then any other gem? While storing it, he had never spoken.... possibly that fact that he himself had amethyst in his sword... yes, that must be it.
As Jebidiah accepted the gifts he flashed a brief, genuine smile, a rare occurance. He slid them on and examined them, turning them over and running his fingers along the gems. After flexing his forearms and unclenching his hands, each fingertip emitted a blue strand that danced its way up his palm and into each gem as a continues stream from his finger. After about a minute he repeated the process to fill the next 10 gems.
"Very nice, Hunter." He pushed the middle gem, and pulled his sword halfway out of his scabbard. As he moved his bracer near to the sword, at about an inch away the sword started to push away. The corners of his mouth crept up into a slight grin, "Very nice indeed. Thank you.," he said as he nodded his head a bit.
"Now, if you don't mind, how about explaining this supposed longer then a decade of experience. I assume you are older then you look?"
Hunter returned Jebidiah’s smile and watched as he charged the amethysts. The bracers were a good fit, and he seemed happy with them. Then the inevitable question about his age arose. “You are quite correct, I am indeed much older than I look. Older than you in fact.”
Hunter paused for a moment, considering just how much to reveal. “As you may have concluded I am a mutant. I do not age, and I am stronger and faster than any human.” He deliberately chose not to reveal the requirement of drinking blood, or his mesmerising stare. While some knew of his thirst for blood, only James knew of his mesmerising stare, and knew much better than to ever tell anyone.

"Well then, how old exactly are you... if it is not to up-front of me to ask...." Jebidiah added the last bit only because of the respect he had only so recently earned. Jebidiah was an open book lying in front of The Employer while Jebidiah knew almost about him.
He is super fast, super strong, he never ages... I at least chose the right side. If I am going to be working under someone it might as well be an immortal.... and the perks aren't so bad either... Jebidiah again looked down to his new bracers.
"Now then, assuming i passed your test, is there any immediate jobs for me, or shall i examine my new apartment? Or is there anything else you would like to show or tell me?"
Jebidiah knew only time would reveal more answers, until then, he would simply listen, watch, and learn.
Hunter decided that his true age was of little consequence, “I’m over four hundred years old. As for the test, yes you have passed. After my deliberately obvious attack and faulty defence, I expected to hit you in one or two moves. Instead you not only held out longer than I expected, but had the wisdom to surrender when you saw it was hopeless.”
Going back to the table he picked up one final item, the vibrating Rolex. “This is how I will keep in contact. When you feel it vibrate find somewhere private and push the button. A message will play with instructions. Now, would you like to meet another Kabal member? While the rest are out on missions, one of them is still here.”

Four... Hundred... Years... Old. Jebidiah was stunned. No wonder he had lost, the man was 400 hundred! He walked over to his dropped cloak and strapped it back on while The Emplyer explained the watch. As he came back, he accepted the watch with a slight nod and strapped it on. Not bad if I do say so myself.
"Sure, it would be wise to get acquainted with whom I will be working with. And speaking of the other members, how many of them are there?"
Jebidiah assumed questioning where the were would only lead to another cryptic and puzzling answer. Why Bother?
Hunter turned and headed out of the testing chamber and towards the library. When Jebidiah asked about other members Hunter replied. “There are four other. Three who like you are combat specialist and one espionage expert. All have unique abilities.”
