Hunter stormed into the lab and demanded “Can you fake the results of s blood mix test?”
“That depends,” came the bored reply as James didn’t even look up from his work, “Whose blood are we mixing?”
“A mutant with unknown abilities and any human,” said hunter, wishing that he had asked her what her power was, but he’d been too busy trying to throw her off the sent of his real plans.
“So you want results that show that her blood and human blood can combine for say, a blood transfusion?” James had still not looked up.
“Yes,” said Hunter with a small smile, “can you do it?”
“Did you tell her you were a human?” he asked.
“Yes, but what does that have to do with it?” James had a habit of asking odd, seemingly unrelated questions.
“Because if she thinks your human then we don’t need a fake result that will stand up to scrutiny. We tell her instead that you want to show her a live demonstration. Claiming to have given blood that morning we transfuse a portion of her blood into you.” James explained. “So when do I get the blood sample?”
“We’ll fix a date later this week,” said Hunter as he turned to leave. “Are you ready to work on the sample as soon as we have it?”
“Of course,” came the condescending reply. Hunter only put up with the attitude because the man was a genius, so rather than berate him for it he simply walked away. If James got it right he could be as rude as he wants, it would be more than worth it.
