The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jupiter nodded. “ I trust you. But I also want to shelter you from all of that. I don’t want you to run, but I want the world to know better than to chase you. It’s not that I don’t like the house, I just want you safe as you can be and I think that is at the sanctuary, but if you don’t like that. We are going to train you to defend yourself.” A sad smile settled on his face. “I have missed you as well.” He just wished the reason for the missing wasn’t so traumatic. He nuzzled the little woman slightly as she got close. His hands found her sides and he held her tight to him.
As he wasn’t sure what all happened to wood nymph he wouldn’t move a single step further than a light peck and tight embraces. He didn’t want to cross some line that could have been traumatizing. He wanted to ensure she knew she was safe here.
Big, Red and helpful. That is how Mercury would want others to describe him he decided as he walked around Central park. The first two were obvious, short of someone being a basketball player there weren’t many taller than him, and even when they were taller, they weren’t as wide or as thick.
They didn’t have perfect tails; their skin wasn’t as invigorating to look at. Few were rarely as entertaining as he. He preferred to help mutants, but he didn’t see any at the moment so he would help whoever he came across . Pluto had gotten into saving people as a hero, and while he thought that would be fun. It wasn’t something he wanted to have to do forever and he was pretty sure being a hero was a lifelong job.
So he would settle for being a good Sam martian , he wasn’t quite sure why someone named sam or martians were helpful but apparently a martian named Sam had helped enough people to earn a title for anyone who helped people.
He came across a young man who was trying to get his kite down from a tree ad laughed at the wide eyed reaction he received when he easily climbed the tree until he came to the offending branch which he snapped off and tossed into an open spot on the ground. The boy could deal with the untangling of the string. He hoped down from there and appreciate that the boy had the manners to mumble out a shy Thanks Mister. Even as his parents ran up to him to huddle around him in case he decided to eat the boy. He didn’t eat children, Most of the time.
Later he lifter a large boulder so a mower guy could just zip over the wiley bursts of grass that he would have normally had to weed eat. He then stopped traffic for a little old lady that was having trouble with crossing the road. After waiting a minute or two for her to get half way across he bound into the street scooped her up and sat her down on the other side. He figured she’d like that better than being thrown.
He was having fun making peoples days better. But this was all too easy. He wanted to make a bigger impact for someone today and so he meandered back into the park for someone who could truly benefit from his help.
“It’s a nice enough day.” He replied in turn to the young man with mismatched eyes. He quietly observed as he settled himself to come up with a game plan.
“No, I don’t blame you, I’m almost impressed that you picked me as a target, though a bit fool hardy, you must be confident in your craft to hunt large game.” He shook his head lightly. “I’m not a forgetful man, though I can be forgiving.” He held open his hand for the wallet expecting the young man to toss it to him, when he didn’t he smirked at the choice placement.
“Hold on friend, I’d hate for you to go running off just yet.” A red hand popped out of the void to his left and slung it Abyss, he grabbed the wallet out of the air and flipped it open.
“Has it been a busy day?”His eyes looked over another face that looked like it belonged to a man that if the kid stayed still would break him in half.
“I’d prefer my wallet. If you’d bother to look in it you’d realize that there isn’t much cash, and the single credit card while valuable would be disabled within moments of my call. So lets trade.”
He tossed the wallet at the boy’s chest softly. ”And we can discuss making your life easier, longer.” He dropped the voids that temporarily blocked the boys path. He could flee with his wallet and take the card and try to get away and hope there weren’t cops nearby when he tried to use it, or he could consider career options with a new acquaintance.
Jupiter listened in outraged silence, He wasn’t typically good at hiding his anger, but for once, he set aside the urge to kill all those that wronged her, He would need more information anyhow. If he got it, he would decide then if he should carve a fiery path through her past that would render, the shady manager, the old man, any and every thug that ever looked at her wrong. he popped open his beer and then hers, He took a long drink from his and appreciated the import and could make a decent guess at where it was from without looking at the label on the beer.
“You know me well enough that it is going to be hard for me to not go and avenge the wrongs put against you. I’ve missed you, I proud of you for surviving it, but that you had to experience it, is unacceptable.” His fingers flexed in and out of fists. His muscles flared. “If you want a room at the sanctuary, I can get you one, your house is beautiful, but there is a strength in numbers there that is matched in few other places.”
He didn’t know what else to say to the delicate flower before him, what could he say? The only comfort he could offer her, she had already refused on the worst of them. why wouldn’t she spare the lesser evils. He could ensure that nothing like this happened to her again, if she let him.
Venus had gotten lazy with keeping the act up, he was tired of the charade. If they could drop the adorable act of hating each other then he might be the only man with the connections and charisma to charm his way into the ivory gates and survive. Well know Kitra was in an interesting mood, cracking her whip and dragging him about. She whispered something to him about playing and he was all fort it she could drag him through the dirt all she liked, He didn’t mind finding a quieter atmosphere at all. If nothing else, the apocalypse had taken an interesting turn on fashion.
Mercury continued to watch in disdain as his friends began to fight and threaten each other. Markus was foolish to not realize that the cage could just as easily start stabbing him once he was in it. Was he counting on Isabel wanting to toy with him more on a personal level? And she was foolish if she thought he wouldn’t change his mind about the gun if it came down to a life and death situation.
Pluto dropped the woman in his hands and stumbled backward. The liquid that was in his eyes burned, it wasn’t acid, but having something in your eyes was terrible, much less actively attacking him. He stumbled back disoriented and turned when he felt something up against him, Panic and the lack of sight had him thinking unclearly and while he wasn’t prepared to kill anyone he wasn’t going to let them attack him without a fight . He swung an open palm and smacked Mercury on the back of the head with enough force to flip a car over.
Mercury stumbled forward and turned around to find out what the heck was going on, “You aren’t supposed to attack me Pluto. Attack a puny woman or something, dummy.” He tilted his head wondering why Pluto was stumbling around and went to ensure, no one took advantage of him while he was so disoriented. ‘Hit me again and I will hurt you, calm down, brother I’ve got you. Void!” Mercury called out and tossed his brother in.
Jupiter continued his attack on Aura, but going easy as she was obviously distracted by what was going on with her girlfriend. She should know them well enough that they wouldn’t hurt family. Nevermind, the slapping and threats going on behind him. Saturn walked into the house and stated in a loud voice. “I’m sorry we didn’t get here faster folks, but the women won’t be bothering you anymore today. Is a kid named Miles here? He has two big dogs that don’t quite look right?” He waited for the now timid farmers to assure themselves that they were talking to a legitimate towns member.
Abyss closed one void and opened another void and watched as Mercury tossed Pluto in His eyes stared at Allison, and wondered if she earned herself a harsher fate, Gina was still free and she didn’t like to see family harmed. On top of that she had no reason to hold back, against the woman.
“If that is what you truly wish...I’ll refrain from hunting him, but I make no promises for what I might do to him or anyone else named Beledodia, if I happen to cross them.” He shook his head and pet the woman more as she wept into his chest and told her tale, told of the effects the bastard she had just pardoned rendered in her life. “I am here now.” He tilted her chin to look at him. with a slight smile on his face he advised her. “I think perhaps you should ask for a refund from these P.I’s, If they can’t find someone as big as me, they weren’t looking.”
He wiped away the tears on her checks, brushing them away with a gentleness that was profound in one that was typically destructive. “You confused me with your new name. I wasn’t sure what to expect until I saw the house even then, it has been so long, too long. I have missed you. Enough tears little flower." He leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead. "Tell me more of your life as Layla."
The moment he saw tears in her eyes and realized that she wasn’t angry with him but hurt and still hurting he closed on her and held the little blonde to his chest, He listened quietly, calmly letting her speak through her tale. Listening to every moment of her heart wrenching journey was painful. Jupiter had one very important question to pose to her.
“Does this man still breathe?” The intent in the question wasn’t even slightly masked. “ There would be repercussions to the actions he made if he dared to still breath. Beledodia of Romania had better hope he had already managed to die. Hold her to his chest and petting her back hoping the action was appropriate and not mocking on some level. He wasn’t used to all this nurturing business.
His heart soared to know she was alive, but to know how she had suffered was infuriating, he would leave today to right the situation. He would tear Romania and any nation hiding him apart before he would rest.
Jupiter was and always would be confident of one thing, in this world he was at the top of the food chain, things didn't kill him, they only crumpled in his hands. The only thing that had hurt him was the woman before him. One day she was there the next she was gone, a note left in what he thought was a hurried version of her hand writing she was going and not coming back.
Jupiter stared at the woman as she approached him, emotions he wouldn't have been able to begin to decipher ran across the womans face, he had currently mastered two emotions. Angry and not angry.
Jupiters baritone rang hollow, confused and hurt. why should she think he was dead? it was only a little war. "I, In Romainia your note said you were leaving and not to follow." He took a step to follow her and stopped again, he wouldn't force the situation and he was pretty sure she was shaking with anger. Why invite him here with all her love under a false name only to be angry with him? Women were confusing!
Jupiter rolled his neck once more and preceded out to the lobby, He winked at Lisa on the way out. “Don’t wait up for me. I might be out late.”
She offered a nod and a returned quip. “Don’t come back if you have to bring him.”
“I can’t see that being an issue.” Jupiter stated with a wave and exited his home.
He went outside to see the male leaning up against a white SUV, nondescript but fitting for the sour man. He was still curious as to what he did to earn Lisa’s ire. He wouldn’t ask though. He simply opened the passenger side door, slid the seat as far back as it would go and entered the car.
And they were off, He recognized the neighborhood as soon as they entered it, and was more wary as they neared the house. Someone was messing with him, and might have found the one thing that was vulnerable to him. He hadn’t been able to find Xavia after searching for Syn, when she disappeared. It seemed like it was an epidemic of women in the Abyssi’s lives that were coming up missing.
He looked at the man in the driver’s seat. Deciding that he would be the first to feel his wraith if this was all some sort of set up. The Suv pulled up and after he exited the Car pulled away as quickly. Maybe it was the looks he kept giving him.
He stood at the edge of the sidewalk leading up to the obviously remodeled home. He wasn’t sure if he was properly prepared to meet this, Layla. And so he stood at the curb with his indecision rolling back and forth.
The look in her eyes sparked new flames in the man across from her. Perhaps a goddess was what he needed all along. Her words pleased him all the more. She trusted him to keep her safe and looked forward to exploring the world. He would have to pull out all of the stops, keep things lavish, and mix in a bit of controlled excitement here and there.
Yes, He just might have to rob a nation of an Icon. He found her much to his liking. He didn't see the that she was entitled to being high maintenance, No she was to be pampered because she simply deserved the best. She was divine.
His lips found hers once more. " Very good. You most only tell me when you are ready and we will venture out."
Jupiter walked to the lobby after splashing some water in his face, changing out of the previous nights clothing and into some fresh jeans and a new white tee. He made his way up to the lobby to see what exactly Lisa wanted, she sounded annoyed and he had learned that messing with Lisa could have certain consequences, while not direct, she could make her self a spitefully indirect pain in the ass.
Once he arrived at the lobby he came to see a rather impatient looking man staring at Lisa, Jupiter immediately sized him up, he looked like he'd be capable in a fight, a favorite to win in most situations...but if he was human, he wouldn't hold up around here. Jupiter rolled his neck and looked to the man.
"What?" He questioned, obvious annoyance at his demeanor implied.
The man turned and held out a note, when Jupiter reached for it he retracted it and added be fore he relinquished the paper. 'You are Jupiter I presume?"
Jupiter nodded and snatched the paper from the man's hands. He opened it and immediately took in a familiar scent. but the name was all wrong, the words were nice and almost as flowery as the smell. He only knew one woman that would send him something like this and her name was not Layla....but what did he have to lose?
"I'll be right back, don't wait in the lobby." he stated coldly to the messenger. He turned to get himself the rest of the way dressed catching a smirk on Lisa's lips as the foriegn male stocked out of the sanctuary. He'd have to ask what he did later. for now he would take the brownies points the statement won him.
He went to his room, Threw on a pair of socks and boots, then he brushed his teeth, all the while wondering who this Layla was and why exactly he had all of her love, he was excited by the prospect that it was an ill advised trap.
Mars helped the girl to stand once more with his tail when that woman turned the corner once more. How long would it take the woman to realize that he was her for books and thus had books in his hands, where as he was sure that Venus came her to checkout and borrow people and thus would more likely have people in his hands.
He looked to Kaitlyn, "Of course dear I'll find the most appropriate chapters and we can go from there. Either way, I'll watch over you." He stated in a library hushed tone to reassure his young ward.
If people were staring a quick glare took care of that with a raised eyebrow and a slow survey of the room, it was amazing how often he caught people looking away quickly. It never failed, his physique would always be what strangers noted and typically dismiss him from there as a foolish brute. Or so he assumed, some apparently thought he must be made of candy...speaking of whom.
The librarian turned the corner and raised an eyebrow of her own about the young girl being aided by his tail. This would be a good time for his daughter to step in, he was considering knocking the woman out to avoid her attempt at seduction....she was already standing in a way that seemed to accentuate her curves...did she not see the young woman with him? had she no shame? didn't she work here?
“My dear, you say that as if you aren’t proud.” His curiosity turned to a little bit of sadness. If she thought little of an ability what might she think of his less than human appearance.
He looked into her pretty little eyes trying to figure out if she had anything in her pretty little head.a smirk appeared on his mouth, “let me get this straight. You steal the color from our doors, come to sample the cake we have made at your demand. You talk to those that have done this labor. And you expected to walk away without returning the doors to their original state, and without being chastised for it?”
“This simply will not do.” He looked to Aura. “ What shall we do with her?” he wanted to scare the girl and if anyone could scare a child it was his lovely niece.
The move would have been flawless on a tailless man, But for a boy with a tail he didn't pay much attention to the fact that as he was snatching said wallet his legs had brushed against the bright red tail. Abyss looked over his shoulder and shook his head as he turned to see a bold young man making a relaxed retreat. If he hurried too much, the boy would be tipped off to his thunderous approach.
He suppressed a smile as the young man talked to himself calling him 'cake'. oh, that wouldn't do at all. Abyss opened four voids around the young man, one in front, one to each side and because of the wings one directly above.
He chided, Mercury to stay within the void for now.it wouldn't do to show all his cards at once.
"Oh, I would say Cake is a bit of an overestimate of your decision making and a grave underestimate of my patience." Abyss opened his hand offering the youth a chance to return it on his own. if not he would need to humble him a bit, Take him apart, and then put him back together. perhaps in his own image, the boy was bold. he liked that. but he was foolish. he wondered if the wings worked or if they were for show...he'd have to be extra careful with him in case his bones were hollow like a birds.
