The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

I'm going to say that Sarah was lucky and got some of her things with her when she survived. I figure some clothes, her bow and quiver, and some of her art supplies. I also say that since Sarah's a camping kind of girl, she brought her own sleeping bag.
I was trying to say it would be a building. Just fancy. The humans made it seem real or something. That gives the humans more control, which they'd like to have, I would think. *watches pennies fall*
After a lengthy talk with Tonho about their lives since they last saw each other, Sarah headed back to the camp. Her mother was probably worried about her. Eric would probably been goofing off to keep their mother's mind off of it.
The forest was beginning to take a darker tone to it. The sun was setting, which caused shadows to go through the area with a quickness that was unsettling. Sarah was immune to it though. She had grown up in the forests of her home state. A few shadows weren't going to scare her.
snap
The sound made Sarah jump before she set off in a run for the camp.
>>"Oh, I always have to worry about Parker getting in trouble. The next time he makes a run for it, at least I know where to look."
Sarah took a step back as she too noticed Parker was inching towards her.
>>"He'll probably just be trying to get you to play fetch."
Sarah smiled then. It must be strange to explain the spider. It shocked her that he told her the truth about Parker. And she was sure that the mutant thing wasn't a lie.
"So long as he doesn't jump on me like before, I think I'll be okay," she stated as she looked at Parker. "If I have fair warning, I shouldn't freak out too much."
The brunette looked around and noticed that the group of kids that had been playing were walking towards them. They were laughing about something, but there were enough of them that Sarah was sure they would see Parker. She began to wonder if they should move so that the kids to get scared. There were quite a few girls in the group.
"Think we should move?" she asked as she motioned towards the kids.
*watches two cents become important* If the humans have mindless hunters, why not someone who does a force field, or something? Mutant force field so mutant stays alive? These are bad people right? Why not have them be worse? *throws two more pennies into the air*
Sarah grimaced as she finished with meal she had been cooking. They had run out of regular meat and were down to the fish they bred. That meant the now twenty-six year old had a limited supply of meals she could produce. This was what felt like the longest period of time she had ever gone with eating the same thing over and over. It was worse than her ramen days.
With another grimace she wondered if there was a way for them to get fresh meat. She then shook her head. There was no way they would be able to get radiation off the animal.
"Guess we're stuck with fish for a long time." Sarah sighed one last time before putting the final touches to the meal. It wasn't five star, but it would do for the time. She was silently happy she had been able to create what she had.
She walked around the kitchen and set the table with what she had cooked. The others weren't in the kitchen, but she figured a quick yell would bring them to the warm food.
>>"Know a great one. Won't even know you got shot."
Sounded too good to be true, but she'd take what she could. She figured by the time they got to the doctor her injury would have clotted.
>>"You know where we are?"
That's right, the other female had asked for directions. Sarah felt guilty for not giving them before.
>>"I don't know how fast we'd get to my school- But I know DocProf could get to the school in no time."
'School?'[/color] Sarah asked herself. Her mind was muddled. She couldn't seem to focus.
"You asked where we are... Sorry, I think blood lose is getting to me. We're not far from Broadway, I think. Should be the south side too." she told her all she could focus on. The dizzy woman hoped it was enough. "I think we should hurry. I'm starting to loose focus and, uh, dizzy. Yeah, I'm dizzy."
My two cents on the location is that if they're able to fly a bunch of mutants to some remote location, why can't they just make a place to put them? A few of the humans running the hunt might just manufacture an island. Make the mutants think they're on some isolated island when really they're in the woods of Northern Canada type thing. That's my two cents. *waves two pennies before throwing them into the air*
Sarah froze when she saw the look in the man's eyes. He looked like a mountain lion on the hunt. Then her thoughts hit her. This man was hunting them. They had separated and he went after the weakest first. They had played into his trap.
>>“What is it to you who I am?”
She sucked in a breath as the man's face changed. He wasn't faking politeness anymore. There was a smirk on his face that scared her. He wanted them in the kitchen.
Then he turned away from her. He was facing the customer now. Who was he hunting? She couldn't tell. He seemed to be hunting them both, but he didn't go after her to fight.
"Don't you think it's bad that your friend doesn't know your name?" the man asked. His voice was polite.
Sarah slipped her right foot out of her shoe as he spoke. When her foot was firmly on the ground, she started with the other. If she wanted to be quiet as she ran, her shoes had to go.
>>"I know the feeling. Well, I did. Creepy crawlies used to get to me, but Parker's kinda calmed me down around them, obviously."
'I'm sure living with a giant spider would do that for someone,' the brunette thought. She lightly wondered if that would help her, but tossed it away with the intent of never trying it.
>>"Yeah, life's treated me better, I'll admit."
Sarah nodded in understanding. He didn't seem to want to talk about it. She wouldn't pest him then. They barely knew each other anyway.
"Life is hard to deal with," she stated. "I try to remember that it could always be worse. It may seem rough at the moment, but there could always be something worse."
She wasn't sure if she was making sense. She always told her friends, whenever they were having a bad day, that it could be better, but it could also be so much worse. Of course their days usually involved hangovers, guy troubles, or every day annoyances. She wasn't sure if her usual advice would work for him.
"At least you don't have to worry about Parker now," she smiled.
Sarah felt like she could leap for joy. Then she wondered what she had gotten herself into. The kid didn't seem to really be into the job. It almost made Sarah want to smack him upside the head, but she refrained.
"I'd just need you to go to some of the areas I'm curious about. Since I'm almost done, I'd rather you did this today. You know the areas: the confession box, doors, maybe the statues." She was baiting and she knew it.
She wanted the kid to work for the money and to see the statues. It wouldn't be much work, but she would make him work a little. She tried to figure out where she'd start him off. When she figured it out she smiled.
"Why don't you go outside and look at the doors? See if there's anything you think I missed," she waved to her painting, "Look at what I've done first so you know what you've got to work with. Then get to work."
Before Sarah could start working on bandaging the other woman's leg, another person appeared. She realized that it must have been who the pale woman had been speaking with.
>>"Hey, I'm a doctor. Mind if I have a look? Might be able to help out with that."
The wet brunette moved away a little. She knew enough about injuries that she could help if he needed. Though, she knew her knowledge was really only good in the forest.
"I'd ask what happened," Sarah looked up at the female, "but I think I know a little bit. Is there any other injury?"
Something told her that the two were on the same side of what ever happened. She hoped they had been the victims, but she wasn't sure.
Sarah waited as patiently as she could. The kid seemed to need some time to think. He must have had someone use him before. The thought made Sarah feel bad for the kid.
>>“What d’you need an assistant for?”
Sarah smiled softly. He was cautious. Not that she could blame him.
"I'm thinking a new look at some of the features of the church might be a good idea. The wood details of the confession box were kinda hard, so maybe another set of eyes would see something mine didn't. Maybe there was some important detail on the statues that I didn't see." Sarah paused, letting her words sink in. "Stuff like that. I'd pay you, of course. I wouldn't ask you without the intent of paying you."
Sarah wasn't sure what she wanted to do now. She thought the teen would like to see the statues, but maybe he was just curious. He obviously wasn't from the church so he hadn't known about the statues. She was trying to be nice, but now, she wasn't sure if being nice was what the teen needed.
It didn't matter though. She had already asked. She would follow through if he said yes. Besides, she wanted to see what his dark vision could do with the angel statues in the sunny courtyard.
As soon as Sarah had spoken, her old friend smiled. The dark skinned male was happy to see his childhood friend. The female herself was happy to see someone from her past.
"It's been a long time, Little Archer," he greeted.
The shocked female nodded. "It has. Several years, I believe."
Tonho nodded in agreement. Sarah smiled softly at her old friend. Tonho had been the one to teacher her how to shoot an arrow from a traditional bow. He was also a dear friend, a cousin even.
"You moved," Tonho stated.
"Yes, to the city. It's different there." As she spoke she remembered her thoughts the previous night. The feeling of home was in both her family and the city. She decided to tell Tonho such. "The city is my home now. I miss my family, but it is where I belong."
Tonho nodded. "It is where you belong. The spirits have led you there. It is your home, you are correct."
Sarah let out her breath. It was relieving to know that Tonho wasn't upset with her. He was one of the people she looked to for help. If he had said something to contradict her realization, she wasn't sure what she would have done. His agreement was a relief for her.
