The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Koga ran, ran as fast as his reptilian legs would carry him. he dodged around a corner and went strait up the wall most people didn't bother to look up when they expected someone to play by the normal rules.
The gunshots that echoed through the air rang in his ears with a threat of finality. luckily he had natural camouflage and new how to zig when they expected him to zag.
Aparently! M users did not like it when you took out there dealer, not one bit, they didn't like when bold as day you walked up, clocked them, stole their cash and supply, he had intended on duct taping the guy to a light pole and calling the cops. Now however, he was running from at least on thug with a gun and who knows how many potential users.
He should have known the large group across the street was with the guy as security. As it was, he was going to have to settle for dropping the M off anonymously with his connection at MRC and donate the money to an orphanage or some other charity that could use it. If....big if. he survived to see the opportunity to do more good deeds.
He ran up the wall and came to a balcony over which, he dove and hunkered down. Hetapped the door across from him tentatively. The girl that came to the sliding glass door was wide eyed. It was rough neighbor hood and the family that lived less than a block from m dealers could likely use some of his newly acquired funds just as much as any group of orphans.
"Can I buy your potted plantss? thirty buckss each?" he'd still have plenty left over to donate. he grinned as sthe young woman odded. he counted out six dirty twenties and put them in a pair of shoes that had been tossed there who knows how long ago.
He then gathered the four small potted plants and peeked out over to see the man far below him. he edged out to the side of the wall and moved down to the middle of the building, hopefully leaving the apartment out of harms way.
he then threw a pair of the potted plants as he could downward. hopefully it would only give the nice man a concussion.the first slammed at the mans feet, the second however slammed the surprised expression right off of his face.
Now that the gunman was taken care of, things were a bit more balanced. he paced over toward the next apartment and set the other two pants down. Picking up the pace once more, it didn't look like the others were interested in him. at least no one he saw.
Usually she didn't bother with these things herself, but usually people weren't so freaking stupid right in front of her.
Running through the streets and alleyways with a gun. Shooting wildly? Really? For the good of the gene pool, he needed to be put out of his misery. "There are children living in this housing." Lori even shook her fist at him as he ran past and felt a little bit old and a little bit tired. What was he even shooting at?
Three others brushed past her. One even gave her a little shove. The hell? Curiosity (and not a little bit of anger) got the best of her. She ditched her original errand and tromped off after the group, glad for her steel-toed boots. There were a few butts she intended to introduce to those boots.
Aaaaaand then it started raining potted plants and Guns took one to the face.
Well. That took care of one. Three to go. Lori shaded her eyes against the setting sun to try to see who had put the guy down. She thought she saw something, but... the others weren't too happy that Guns had gone down. They started shouting about getting his weapon to kill some kid. A kid for crying out loud.
"I don't think so." Lori called the lump of metal away from the man's limp hand and caught it by the muzzle. She would have loved to give the guy a good kick in the ribs as she walked by, but using her power to steal the gun took all the attention of the small mob away from the kid they had been chasing (wherever he might be) and put it squarely on herself.
Just how she preferred things, really.
Guns. The world could do with one less of them around. Lori tucked the weapon under her arm. She would give it to Abyss to crush.
"Why don't you pick on someone your own age?" She even managed to smile as she asked.
Koga slowed his pace as he heard someone else call a challenge out to the men that were after him, it was not their night. He couldn’t leave someone else to clean up his mess, Even if the ring of her voice sounded confident. He turned downward and made it to the alley’s ground in an instant, there was something exhilarating about running with gravity behind you, he turned the angle and started to run out of the alleyway. He burst out of the corner not knowing what to expect, but the Noteworthy blonde was not what he expected. Koga swallowed hard, there were some enemies you looked forward to confronting one day, some you did not. Lori Faust was not someone he would cross lightly.
More confusing however was, the fact that there were certain people you never expected to help you out. For instance, you probably wouldn’t ask a beggar for money, you wouldn’t ask a police officer to help you steal a car, and you certainly didn’t ask a crime boss to help you fight crime.
What the heck was she doing defending him?
He stood dumbfounded as the men began to close on her. Nope, He wouldn’t stand there and watch, He had no doubt she could handle these three goons with ease, but he wouldn’t sit there and watch it, heck, he might even be helping the guy out by sparing him, her wraith.
He sprinted as fast as he could down the side walk leaping on the closest man’s back and putting him in one of his signature sleeper holds. Something about his muscles enjoyed the attack, he attributed it to what he could only assume was a constrictors instinct. He was a bag man, but big men needed to breathe. He hung from the man’s back until he staggered and fell to the ground, Looking up to see how she had made out.
She saw movement and before Lori realized what it was, there was a kid choking the life out of one of the three.
Two to go.
One started to grow. "Bangarang!" Lori lobbed the gun at him before he got too big and it smacked him in the forehead with enough force to knock his head back. Awesome. Even more awesome was how it clipped his head on the way back when she used her power to pull it back toward herself.
Gun boomerang. Bangarang. Get it?
She was too pleased with herself (and honestly trying to catch the gun again) to really be bothered with the second assailant. The third of them began to... sing?
She caught the gun, but immediately had to drop it to cover her ears. She was getting dizzy. It actually hurt to hear the sound of it.
Big guy started growing again as Lori went down to one knee.
A chuckle escaped his lips at the blonde’s Pun, she had the makings of a hero that Adam east could love. Koga groaned in pain but managed to finish with his first victim, before the man fully collapsed to the ground, allowing him the freedom of slapping his own hands over his ears…he was pretty sure they were bleeding… that one should take some lessons.
The first and for most being to shut the hell up. Koga ran and kicked the big guy using him as a launching pad to propel him toward his new arch rival…Karaoke! Is what he would call him in a comic book. His other foot landed right on the singers face. The concussive force spat from his mouth when he groaned in agony shot Koga across the side walk and into the building. To say the least it was not what he was expecting. He crumpled as he hit the wall and landed with a resounding thud.
Karaoke’s lip however was getting nice and fat and his nose was streaming red, to top it all off he had bit his tongue. He wasn’t backing down however, instead he was Strolling over to Koga with a cruel look on his face.
He stopped singing though so for the moment there was that.
The Large and getting larger man had eyes only for the blonde…must have had a king Kong complex.
And to complete the King Kong Complex, he made a grab for Lori. She obliged her stereotype with a scream, but didn't quite fulfill the role of damsel too well. When he lifted her out of Karaoke's range, she got her wits back. Lori let go of her power and let the charge run through her skin. Biggen dropped her like a hot potato.
Lori landed on her feet and felt like her shins might come up out of her knees. She let the momentum drop her back on her butt. Oh that was going to hurt tomorrow. On the plus side, there wasn't any more singing.
The runt that had strangled one of them splatted next to her on the sidewalk. Lori noticed Karaoke's face was now bleeding and spared more than a little admiration for the mutant.
"Get up, kid." Lori followed her own advice. Electricity crackled between her fingers as she tried to stuff her power back deep down inside herself. Like tissues that had been taken out of the box already, the power just didn't want to fit like it originally had when she tried to stuff it back in.
Biggen thought better of grabbing for Lori again. This time he made to step on the both of them with his big, fat foot.
Koga waited for a moment for the little birds to disappear and rolled to his feet. He stood next to someone he would in any other situation consider a foe, it was too weird to contemplate just this moment.
Karaoke lisped something at them around a fat tongue that he must have bitten, because the power didn’t quite work right, it was a dull ache opposed to a shrill pain. Karaoke then clapped his hands together and then he could only hear white noise. New York was not a quiet place and now it was silent. Koga spun and grabbed Lori at the waist and propelled them both out of the way of impending doom. She called him kid but he was a good half a foot taller than her. He’d comment later when they weren’t being attacked and he could hear again. Look at that she didn’t shock the hell out of him.
Ok, how was this going to work. Pressure points game on big man! He leaped forward once more hoping that Faust would trade dance partners with him for at least one pass. He grabbed the pinky toe and twisted it like he was trying to turn the car around, there was a pressure point in the smallest toe, that could cause pain in the neck, he dug his fingers into that spot with a vengeance. Stupid M heads.
She'd just managed to get to her feet when McLizard-Kid decided to take her for a tumble. Did he know that the ground was a power sink for her? That was probably the thing that kept him from getting shocked to heaven and back when she smacked the back of her head on the concrete.
Dazed, hurting and mostly deaf, Lori watched the kid spring back up like he was made of silly putty. Freaking youth and their freaking ability to get right back up after every hit. Lori first went to her hands and knees and then pushed herself up to her feet. Damn, she was getting old.
And her foe wasn't giving her any leeway. She caught a glimpse of movement before Karaoke was there swinging his fist at her face.
One quick step back put her out of range of the sloppy haymaker, but the alley was by no means wide. The brick building was only one more pace back. She bumped into a few flimsy metal trash bins and they clanged together in a dull way that let her know the real noise must have been loud.
Karaoke was opening his mouth again.
She did the first thing that came to mind. Lori slapped him. Hard. While he was dazed, she grabbed a trash can from behind her and hit him with it as hard as she could. The trash spilled out at her feet (so gross!) so she tried to hit him again. And again.
Koga succeeded in seeing pain explode onto the still growing man’s face. His toe had gone from the size of an almond to a large grape to a plum, and it was putting him well past twelve feet at this point. He was going to need more than a pinky toe hold on the guy. Kong started to push his weight towards Koga, and well he couldn’t help but think of that old poker song. ‘You have to know when to hold em, know when to fold em! And know when to climb them and pummel there face until the job is done.’ At least he was pretty sure that was how the song went. Regardless as the weight of the heavy well muscled leg started to press he relinquished his hold and pulled back. He was off balance and distracted for just a moment.
He took a step to the side and started to scale the man’s side, if he could make it to his chest he could attempt to render the giant unconscious. And luckily the oaf’s arms were flailing about trying to catch his balance. He propelled himself forward and up until he was in the man’s face, things were about to get harsh and he couldn’t risk the broken bones. He didn’t think he could count on his counterpart to help him out if he needed medical attention, then again he wouldn’t have expected her to intervene in the first place. He was still growing! What had he gotten himself into?
Koga made his way to the man’s shoulder as he got his footing and two large hands were coming his way fast. The problem with being large was, your weak spots got bigger too. In unwitting synchronization he slapped the giant…on the eye.
A bellow of pain echoed through the air, accompanied by the percussion of a trashcan meeting a man’s head over and over and over. Koga spun away from the man’s eye and the hands now holding it in pain. And held on to his ear as he stumbled just enough out of the alley way and into the street to get clipped by a city bus. The giant flopped forward and bad luck, gravity and the brick wall of the alleyway did the rest of the work for him. He hopped lightly off of the man and headed toward his unlikely counterpart.
And again. And again. And again just for good measure.
It didn't look like Karaoke was getting up again any time soon even though the trash can she'd been bashing him with was dented more than he was. After a quick look, Lori confirmed that Monstro wasn't popping back up either.
All in a day's work. Lori set the can down on Karaoke's legs and wiped her hands. So, so gross. "Yeah, I guess you had that under control." He didn't seem to need her help but she'd done it anyway.
"Let me guess..." She took a second to pretend to think about it. None of her kids were that disciplined. Also, she knew each and every one of the Sanctuary kids and this wasn't one of them. "Mansion." Now the real question was he a kid off asserting his talent or a full X on a personal prowl?
Koga’s eyes shined in the light. “I wass jusst going to out run them, to be honesst.” He started to stretch his muscles in case someone woke up and they needed to go another round or four. Or Blondie decided that lizards were best served crispy.
He nodded politely, confirming her suspicions. “I don’t need to guesss ass far ass your credintialss go. The company you keep is much less discrete than you are, not to mention the history of your company. To be perfectly honest, I’m a bit ssuprissed to ssee you walking on the street alone, much lesss at all.”
He was sure that she likely had done wicked things that needed punishing, but today she showed compassion and done what he might have in the same situation. She certainly helped him today.
Kid Lizard eyeballed her with no small amount of distrust. "There are kids in these apartments." She defended her actions with a huff and folded her arms. "Plus guns are stupid."
>To be perfectly honest, I’m a bit ssuprissed to ssee you walking on the street alone, much lesss at all.
"Why? I grew up on these streets." She had the right.
As for the rest, "Bodyguards chafe." Just like manacles. "Besides, there are a lot of people in New York. Not too many people know me on sight." Except, this kid had. She tried to return the favor and memorize how he looked, which was hard considering the fact that he changed colors.
"And if they do know me, they usually know not to mess with me." Arrogant? Yeah. But being ruthless against her enemies had given her a measure of street cred. And her relative anonymity meant she was often underestimated until she got to be ruthless which fed the cycle and left her for the most part unmolested.
