Ash scuffed her heals slowly as she walked down the sidewalk. She couldn't help thinking it was unusually quiet and empty, even though the wind was a little more than nippy this morning. Stop being so paranoid, Ash, God. She was so impatient with herself lately. I need a vacation.
She casually dragged her fingertips slowly over the edges of every passing bench, over the bark of every tree, and anything else she happened to come across. Park benches were always the most interesting. If you knew what people thought (or did) sitting on benches, you'd be scarred for life. Ash shuddered before bravely sitting on the cold wood, hugging her knees in front of her with one arm, running a fingertip of the free hand along the almost frozen splintering wood.
Almost instantly a rush of strange voices and images, some more clear than others, packed themselves into her minds eye. She pressed a finger carefully to each one.
A girls voice, maybe in her early twenties rang through her ears, term paper.. pregnant?.. -ever, i hate.. am i.. gotta call in.. With the thoughts came the start of a term paper, barely a page, then almost a picture of a baby, some boy, and so on. Ash could amuse herself for hours digging into the personal lives of people she didn't know.
Listening closely into the strange near-silence and hearing nothing she cursed herself for being overly paranoid again. She shrugged and slid her iPod from her backpack, ignoring her own thoughts reverberating through her mind, and shoved a bud into each of her ears. A smile spread across her face as Bullet For My Valentine blasted and she felt her eyelids get heavier and heavier as she drifted slowly out of consciousness.
Kitra was strolling through Central Park. She was tired of being in the labs so often and even after they had managed to catch one of the Stalkers *hopes thats what will happen anyway XD* she was able to leave the labs. Of course she had guards following her in their cars. It was quiet, she sighed and looked around as she adjusted her scarf. There was a young girl, not much younger then herself lounging on a park bench. It looked like she was going to fall off though. She moved quickly to the young lady with pretty black hair and of slight build. "Miss, are you alright?" Kitra lightly touched her shoulder, hoping to wake her up. 'I hope she's alright.'

Ash felt a hand on her shoulder and jumped, nearly across and off the bench before the soft voice that accompanied it fully registered in her mind. Relax Ash, gosh. Ash held onto the sliver of the woman's voice in her memory. Smoothing her ruffled skirt, she took a quick breath and hurried a response, "Oh, yes, I'm fine! ...Thanks, I'm sorry if I scared you." Ash smiled politely and wrapped up her headphones, picking up bits and pieces of her favorite songs as she did so she quickly averted her eyes. She thought to herself, Glowing purple eyes don't make such a great first impression.
The young lady jumped nearly out of her skin. Kitra grimaced, she hadn't meant to scare her. "My apologies I didn't mean to give you such a scare either." She stuck out her hand with a smile. "My name's Kit, my I inquire your name?" 'Hmm, her eyes looked purple. Maybe it's a trick of the light, or fading light that is.' "Your eyes seem to be purple, awesome color if you ask me," Kitra grinned. 'I wonder why she was sleeping out here though. Maybe she has no place to stay. Hmm, something to keep in mind.'

Ash pretended to rub her eyes, desperately thinking of a quick escape from the awkward moment. As her brain combed through escape after escape she took a second to analyze what just happened and thought, She sounds nice.
> "My name's Kit, my I inquire your name?" Sensing the young woman's-- Kit's-- hand coming her way, she slowly reached out her own, luckily finding Kit's without any hesitant searching. Ha, I wonder if she's realized I'm blind yet. > "Your eyes seem to be purple, awesome color if you ask me" As Kit finished her sentence, Ash carefully aligned Kit's fingertip with her own, causing her eyes to glow and a rush of this young woman's thoughts to flood into her mind.
(OOC: I wasn't sure how much information you wanted Ash to get from you right off, I thought she'd get basics, wherever you just came from, your age, the fact that you're a mutant. Any objections or suggestions?)
