The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well you're all a violent bunch, aren't you?" Calley commented happily from his comfortable park bench perch. "Are you going to kill them?" The question came with no connotations--he wasn't making it sound bad, and he wasn't making it sound good. He was just curious. He stood up on the bench and stuck his hands in his pockets, craning his neck for a better look at the victims. Huh. People were very breakable, weren't they? Not that mutants weren't. He sorta sympathized with Mister Lost-An-Arm. "Hey--you can get that reattached, you know. If you do it quick--" He was helpfully informing the guy, when he was distracted by something shiny moving towards his shoulder. Something shiny and spinny and fast. "Gah-!" He shouted (with much dignity), and vaulted out of the way. He ended up doing sort of a backflip off of the bench. He didn't have super strength or super speed or super anything, but he'd discovered recently that years of living as a cat had given him pretty good reflexes and an ingrained sense of acrobatics.
...Unfortunately, it also had him convinced that he had four feet to land on. So the backflip looked very cool, right up until the point he landed on his hands, and kicked the cat girl in the head.
...Ooops? He sincerely hoped that the fact he hadn't been fighting for them and the fact that he'd just done what looked strongly like attacking one of them wasn't going to count against him. Heh... Oooo crap.
((ooc: You're an evil woman, Kitra! *shakes fist* ))
No sooner had Nika been flipped off the guy than someone else hit her in the head as she was trying to get back into an attacking position. It was the second guy from the bench. He knocked her to the ground but Nika quickly rolled away from both of the men and got back into a crouched position. The pain from the the two guys hitting her was starting to make her power kick in.
Her veins felt like they were on fire as the sensation spread throughout her body. She dug her claws into the grass and used it to help vault herself back at the man that she had pinned moments ago. As the cat girl launched herself at the arrogant man she let out a cougar like roar. Her fangs were bared and her claws were extended once again.
The man saw Nika attack but he was surprised by her impressively increased speed. He wasn't able to prepare himself enough for the sheer ferocity of her assault.
Nika went for the man's chest again as it was the largest target. This time however her claws dug into him MUCH further and she even broke a few of his ribs as she latched on to him. Her fangs tore into his neck and her feet were placed against his abdomen just before her momentum carried them both to the ground. All in one fluid act Nika used the forward motion to roll onto her back while still holding the man in her claws and fangs, which now placed him above her, and using her now super powered legs to kick the man up and over her while continuing to roll until she was back to a croushed position. Her fangs ripped out his throat and her claws pulled out chunks of his rib cage.
The cat girl stood up with blood dripping from her mouth and from her claws as she looked for any other baddies to dispose of.

Calley
...Calley watched the cat girl. He watched the cat girl dripping blood. He watched the cat girl looking around like she wanted something else to maul. He watched the cat girl, and he tried to look like that kick was the perfectly innocent mistake that it had been. Honest.
...Calley watched the cat girl, and stood very, very still. He was laughing a little. But that's just because he was an idiot. "Just for the record," he unwisely said--hence, probably drawing her attention to him, "that was completely an accident. The head-kick thing. Accident." He sounded far too amused about it all for his own health.
The amusement in the guy's voice wasn't getting along with the cat girl's current mood. In fact she remembered him hitting her in the head. The only problem was that she didn't see him dodging a flying knife. All she knew was that he had kicked her.
In a blink of and eye Nika had pounced the man and had him pinned on his back. She had a very serious look on her face as a low growl rumbled in her throat. Nika held one of her bloddied claws in front of the man's face. "I don't find being kicked in the head funny and unless you want to have both of your legs removed I suggest you watch yourself next time." With that being said Nika backed away to a position where she could see the man as well as the others.
Kitra looked for the knife only to find it lodged in a tree and the other boy being pinned to the ground by the cat girl.
Realizing what happened and where the boy had been sitting. Kitra walked over to the very pissed off cat girl.
"Look, I'm sorry. I knocked away that guy's knife over there." She pointed to the now one armed bounty hunter. "My guess is that the one you happen to have threatened was the one who dodged it. And he accidently hurt you in the process. So, um sorry."
I'm Kitra and I believe the other guy is Tristan. Who might you be cat gal?"
Kitra looked at the boy sitting on the ground. "And you are?"
Tristan looked at the men lying on the ground. "Here i am in the middle of Central Parks with to ... very cute girls and a kid with three unconsious men, ain't this a hell of a night." He went over to the bench leaned down and picked up his MP3 player, wrapped it up and stuffed it in his pocket. Tristan walked over to the group of people and saw a movement in the corner of his eye. "Oh snap. Witness!" He pointed as a person ran back down a path on the other side of the clearing cell phone in hand.
Nika tried to calm herself as the other girl walked over and tried to explain the situation. "My name is Nika." She turned to the guy she had jsut pounced and offered to help him up. "I'm really sorry about that. I get a little feral when I'm upset."
Kitra pulled up the boy sitting on the ground, grabbed Nika's bloodied hand and started running. She was following Tristan. It looked like he was heading for a vehicle.

Calley
The cat girl’s bloody claw was very impressive. Even more impressive close-up than it had been far away. Funny how proximity to one’s vulnerable neck can, ah, influence perception. Calley didn’t answer her threat with I like my legs, because he didn’t think she’d understand how very heart-felt and non-flippant that answer was. The Scary Violent Boss Man probably wouldn’t have, either. Instead, as she considerately removed her claw from imminent-death range and let him back up, he replied simply: “Won’t happen again. Definitely not funny. Sorry.”
Calley sat himself up cross-legged on the ground as the Wonderful and Benevolent Kitra explained his actions for him. That was nice of her. He hadn’t actually thought to do that. “I’m Calley,” he told her with a smile, “and I’m sorry, I didn’t quite catch your name. Did you say ‘My Savior’?”
He was just about to take Nika the Claw-Wielding Doesn’t-Like-To-Be-Kicked Maniac’s offered hand, when the Tristan guy oh-snapped. Suddenly he found himself getting dragged along behind Kitra. Huh. Well, that was interesting. Apparently he wasn’t being counted as a witness. He was just going to go with it. This was fun.
It might not be so fun when they got to that car and someone realized that his own fine self hadn’t shown any sign of being a mutant just yet—and he didn’t really have any intentions to—but Calley was the type to live in the moment.
Tristan ran up to the car the words 'Hell Beast' were freshly painted on the side, "Hop in," he yelled, holding open the door so that every one could get in. When everyone was in Tristan hopped into the car and started it up. "Hold on," Tristan peeled out and turned the corner of a building just a police were aproaching the Park.

Calley
Calley squeezed into the back seat, somehow ending up in the middle. The first sirens 'n' flashy lights rounded the corner in the distance. "Sweet!" He turned with a grin, looking at the others. "So, do you randomly kill people often?"
The one armed man hauled himself to his living companion. He was losing blood and fast. Shaking his comrade he brought him round and together the pair staggered off towards their car supporting one another. Once at the car they bound up the bleeding stump that one of them had for an arm.
They should have waited until the girl was alone, but they he been confidant that not only would she be little trouble, but the two kids with her would be no trouble either. The cat girl had been a complete surprise and now one of them was dead because of it.
With it bound as best as possible the two survivors set off. Minutes later they pulled up into an ally behind the restaurant. Getting out they were met by a man with shoulder length black hair and piercing silver eyes. “Where is she?” he demanded.
“We ran into trouble,” the one armed man explained, “Mutants.” Rather than answer them Hunter’s left hand shot out to the man with both arms throat and ripped it out, spraying himself with blood. The one armed man reeled back in horror.
He turned and ran, trying to escape from the monster he had just witness, but ended up running straight into Hunter. Hunter gave him a wicked smile before grabbing his remaining arm and shoulder. With a quick pull he ripped the arm off and tossed it across the alley.
The man, now in shock, turned once more to flee, but Hunter slammed his hand into the man’s back. His fingers pierced the skin and wrapped around the man’s spine. Yanking back he pulled out a section of the man’s spine and let it clatter to the floor. The man dropped.
“Clean this up,” Hunter said as he wiped his hands on a handkerchief. From an unmarked van came a team of men in hazmat suits. They removed the bodies, all the parts, and became to clean the area down, leaving no trace of what had just happened. Hunter got into his limo and nodded to Maximillian. He would now need to get the suit dry cleaned.
Hopping into the Hell Beast, Kitra had found herself next to Calley, who had ironically called her his savior after sending a knife his way, by accident though. Nika was sitting on the other side of Calley and Tristan was driving ,well speeding, in the driver's seat.
"Calley, you are okay right? I mean that knife didn't graze you at all?"
Kitra had been listening to the sirens as she said this and had also kept an eye on the following police cars when she realized that there were none anymore. She then spotted a dark green SUV and smirked slightly.
<Well, I guess its a really good thing that I can't shake Derrick off. I'm not sure I want to know what he did to get rid of them though. He is under Mr. Antonescu's employment so, I really don't want to know.>
"Tristan? I think you can slow down now the police aren't following us anymore. I think they were distracted by something else or they just lost us. Either or, we're in the clear now."
Tristan looked in the reat view mirror as the girl that had introduced herself as Kitra spoke. "Right," He murmered the resent incident still regestering in his head. He returned to a normal speed limit. "Welli don't know where we should go."Tristan examined there surroundings at a red light. "Well we're a few blocks away from this place i know we can lay low there till this whole thing blows over."
With the bounty hunters dealt with Hunter decided that it was best to bring Kitra in to discuss what had happened. As Calley had managed to find himself there he had seen it all clearly from his necklace camera. Only by virtue of the two other mutants present had Kitra managed to defeat the bounty hunters. Like Tris she would need training.
Pulling out his phone he began to dial. Far away in a car called “Hell Beast” Kitra’s watch began to vibrate.
