The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A long time had passed since Syn had seen her city or her beloved Sanctuary. She remembered how it appeared before the battle at King Pharmaceuticals. That was the last time she would see anyone or anything she knew. Mental images flashed through her head of what she could recall, but these were mixed with the horrors she had endured for the last few years.
Once she had finally made her triumphant escape the goth girl began her long trek back to her home. The journey was longer than she had imagined. She had to hitch rides several times from passers by as well as convince a greyhound bus driver to let her ride to the bus station in NYC.
During this adventure a few people had offered her some clothes to wear rather than the rags she had worn for so long during her capture. They weren’t exactly her style, but they didn’t look like they were attacked by an army of angry scissors. Nonetheless, they would suffice until she could get into something better.
When Syn was in charge of the Order and the Sanctuary she had set herself up a small emergency fund. It was all cash and had been stowed away without word to anyone. This was a completely selfish act as she hadn’t mentioned the idea to any of the other Order members to help them out should they need it. No. This was a thought of someone who wished to ensure her own survival. The secret little fund was a black sports bag with ten thousand dollars inside it. The bag was then locked away in a personally purchased locker in Grand Central Terminal. This would be the first important destination before returning to Sanctuary. She couldn’t allow herself to be seen not looking like herself.
In order to get the money Syn needed the key to the locker. This key was left in Grand Central Terminal with one of the desk clerks to be put away for safekeeping. After arriving at her destination Syn immediately made her way to where she had left the key. A man in his mid-forties greeted Syn. “How may I help you miss?” “I’m here for my key to my locker.” The man looked the female over and punched a few keys on his computer. “I just need your ID for verification miss.” An unseen event began to occur as Syn started releasing her influence. She let a minute pass by as she pretended to look for her ID before looking straight at the man. “My name is Syn. Now give me my key.” The man nodded and in less than two minutes had retrieved the key and handed it over.
Taking the key without so much as a thank you Syn went to her locker and opened it up. The bag was still there with all the money left inside. With a smile of happiness on her face she set out to change her image to one more suiting of herself. This would entail a stop at a spa, some clothes shopping, a break for a very tasty lunch and then the booking of a first class limo ride home.
When the limo driver finally opened her door in front of Sanctuary Syn felt a flow of emotions rush over her. She was back home even if it had changed from when she last saw it. Stepping out of the limo Syn wore a tight red half shirt with an image of a little black skull on the front, black baggy pants and black converse shoes. She had the limo driver carry her bags of new clothes and things behind her as she opened the great golden doors and made her way inside. Syn had returned.
Isabel had received a message on her phone from Lisa. Her phone had buzzed in her pocket just as she was leaving her room to head up to the Recreation area. She'd been planning to lounge in front of the television for a while, hopefully without having to destroy the TV again this time. She hadn't seen any more offending news broadcasts yet, but there was always the possibility the last one wasn't the final one.
The message she'd received had only one word in it, which wasn't unusual for Lisa. Texting wasn't something the woman did often, but she seemed to have been able to stomach the idea for the belief that it could come in handy for discretionary communication, rather that placing a call or using the intercom. The message simply read "Lobby."
It looked like the Rec Room would have to wait. Isabel heaved a sigh, expecting little more than a new resident or something that needed to be shown around. Or even someone that had stumbled into the building and had to be removed.
As it turned out, there was someone waiting in the Lobby, it just turned out to be the last person she had ever expected to see.
She had spent months torturing herself after the Order's former leader had been taken down in the KP Brawl. She simply couldn't help herself. It's not exactly unusual to run into someone with colored hair in New York, but some part of her always got too hopeful when a particular shade of red fell into view. That hope was quickly crushed every single time.
She had been the one to deliver the news to the Order during a sort of family dinner after the fight. She'd been the one that had to tell everyone that an important woman had died in battle and that someone else would have to take her place. She'd ached and cried over the loss of one of her oldest friends when no one was around to intrude upon her sadness.
It was no small shock to see that woman standing in the Sanctuary's Lobby.
Isabel had stopped dead in her tracks in the entryway to the reception area. She just couldn't make her feet move. All she could do was stare in disbelief, and slight apprehension. She'd gotten her hopes up too often in the past and had grown somewhat wary for it. There was no mistaking the familiar face, though.

Abyss, Saturn, Venus, Mars, Mercury and Jupiter all got the same "Lobby" text that was sent to Isabel. Pluto wouldn't receive the news until one of his brothers deigned to tell him, but that was part of abandoning your family for a life of Anti-crime.
The brothers were in the cafeteria, one of the cooks lamented to Abyss that he hated to waste things and apparently a decent amount of food would go to waste, due to the next shipment of food stores coming in, it would go bad unless someone ate it soon and so Abyss rounded up his brothers and decided to put the cooks mind at ease. they would do him the favor of clearing out the kitchen. and so they were dinning and eating lots of random dishes that were composed of foods that were second choice, but over all the cook knew what he was doing and would make up for sub par food with pro cooking skills.
When they got the text they were on the last dish and they could still go for a little something else, they rarely felt full as their body's burned up more calories then they ever could keep up with.
Abyss looked to his brothers with an eye brow raised. " Who did what?" and then put up a hand up to halt the the onslaught of anything they might be getting Lisa calling them to the office."You know what I don't want to know. Lets just go see who got caught for whatever they did. Thanks Jimmy the food was great and it felt like their last meal. It was the stampede of Red men walking from lunch to text demand that seemed to echo down the hallway.
Abyss was the first into the room and the moment his eyes lay on Syn he burst into a run, He might have ran Isabel over if Mercury wasn't behind him and nudged him to the left to spare the girl a lesson in what it might feel like to participate in a super powered NFL game. Mercury stood right behind Isabel as the others reacted similarly to Abyss.
Abyss rushed his youngest sister and pulled her into an embrace that he had to ensure he didn't break her bones or leave her more than bruised. "I looked everywhere, There was no ambulance at any hospital recorded bringing you in, there was no body at the morgue. We thought you were dead" He held her out at arms link like a doll inspecting her to make sure she was OK, it wasn't dignified but he could pay for that later if he must, she looked like she could use some food, but when didn't she? " Are you ok? Where have you been?" He finally set her feet back on the ground.
The other brothers seemed to hesitate, they could always hug her later. When less people were around to see and Syn might not slit their throats.
Syn fully expected to see Lisa at her desk busy as she always had been in the past. Sure enough she was not disappointed as she approached. For a moment the gothling thought Lisa had had a stroke or something due to the lack of movement when their eyes met. Notably the woman’s jaw did drop a moment later after a brief staring episode. Her hands picked up her phone and typed something, but the woman didn’t let her eyes off of Syn for a second. A smile crept across Syn’s lips as she couldn’t help but enjoy the reaction.
Something moved out of the corner of Syn’s eye and caught her full attention. Heart beats increased when she realized who it was. A different look for her oldest and dearest friend, but it was undeniably Isabel. Almost the same reaction to Syn’s presence took hold of Isabel. She just stood there as if frozen in time until she spoke the only words she could seemingly find.
The shock of seeing her old friend stole away Syn’s own words. She couldn’t even think of what to say in response. All she could do was smile big and nod.
The two-on-one staring match was interrupted as the army of big red figures flooded in from wherever they had been previously. Syn’s eyes widened as her big brother snatched her up into his hulking arms. In the past this would’ve resulted in some form of retaliation, but this time Syn smiled and placed a hand on her brothers cheek.
Before she knew it she was being held at arms length and getting visually inspected. This did warrant a reaction and swiftly got one. With a scolding look on her face Syn warned her brother. “Yes I’m fine now put me down or else.”
Normally Isabel would have watched her back and made way when the sound of six large sets of feet reached her ears, but at the current moment she just couldn't bring herself to look away from the figure not far from her, much less make herself move. She didn't even flinch as six pairs of feet dissolved into one as a big Red blur passed her, a little closer than normally would have been comfortable. Mercury, of course, came to her rescue yet again, not that she would have realized it yet.
A smile tugged at the corner or her mouth as the larger Red figure scooped up the smaller one into a hug as a long-overdue sibling reunion took place. She almost felt selfish in her own self pity over Syn's past loss, realizing that Abyss must have felt it so much more keenly since the loss was his sister, and that loss was multiplied by Seven.
For now she kept her distance, allowing the Big Guy to celebrate his smaller sister's return, as well as leaving room for the other five to join him once their own shock had subsided enough to allow them to do so. A small part of her wished that Pluto could have joined them.
She could feel her eyes beginning to sting when Syn spoke up, addressing her brother as she always had, her tone cementing her in reality for Isabel as her physical presence must have for Abyss. The lower half of her vision was beginning to blur and a smile was breaking out across her face. She couldn't speak again just yet. Any sound that came out of her was something between and gasp and a gurgle as the urge to both laugh and cry were warring with each other.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Abyss let go of Syn with a grin that said he was tempted to mess up her hair or give her a wet willy, but resisted the urge to pester her. He was to relieved to act on bugging her so soon. the large man took a step back, to give her a little bit of space and then to the side to let Isabel view their little devilish Lazarus.
His face then took on a look of grim seriousness. "If someone hurt you and they aren't dead yet, point me in the direction and know they will experience a fate worse than any previously imagined. " he assumed that someone somewhere did something terrible to her to keep her from home, he couldn't see her just walking away without a word.
The other five behind Abyss nodded in deadly agreement. They would decimate a whole city if she only could give them that much information about where she was. Killing everyone that crossed their path on the off chance that they had something to do with it. The anger that burned in their eyes made them look more similar than they typically did, all wearing a unified expression made it that much harder to pick one of them out of the crowd.
Thankfully her brother put Syn down before she had to remind him what she could do. She caught the look on his face as he set her back on her feet. She had seen it before and it always meant something undignified towards her. He knew she preferred to be treated properly and with respect and not so much like a playmate to harass.
Her brother’s question and tone sparked a brief flash back of the place Syn longed to forget. Refocusing her attention on the large man Syn smiled subtlety and shook her head. “Do I look hurt my dearest brother?” She debated if she should say more about where she had been or what had happened. Looking to her oldest friend Isabel and back to her brother Syn’s smile faded away and her eyes become cold and distant. The truth was that Syn had been hurt in more ways than she cared to count and it happened repeatedly over the length of years.
Isabel had busied herself with brushing the back of her sleeve over her cheeks and past her eyes, not wanting to look the part of the mess she was beginning to feel like. Crying wasn't something she ever did in front of people if she could help it, even in such situations as the current one. It would be bad enough that her eyes were rimmed with red. Thankfully, the Red Six seemed to be commanding most of the attention of the red headed girl.
The change in Abyss' tone from friendly to threatening was unmistakable. Isabel had been so surprised and so relieved to see the young woman re-entering the Sanctuary after so long, that she'd completely forgotten to question the circumstances of her disappearance. She could feel her own anger beginning to bubble at the Big Guy's promise to bring vengeance down upon anyone that might have hurt his little sister.
She already knew that Sebastian was mostly the one to blame for Syn's fall at KP. After the Brawl, she was completely clueless as to who could have moved her body and kept her away from the Order for so long. The young woman's careful avoidance of the question didn't help to ease her confusion or her blood lust.
Isabel was one person that could easily tell others that physical pain wasn't the only kind of pain. One didn't have to be bleeding to be hurt. She'd personally been dealing with her own emotional pains for as long as she could remember, the Camps perhaps being one of the worst offenders. She still had nightmares.
"We can help fix things, if you wanted," she offered. They couldn't make the pain go away or erase whatever memories might plague Syn, buy they could perhaps put her mind a little more at ease if the offending individual was nothing more than a red smear on the pavement.

Make that seven of the most dangerous beings on this planet, at her disposal for vengeance in a way the news casters wouldn't even want to talk about, that crime scene investigators would consider too devastating to behold. An ultra violence that the world had yet to see.
Abyss simply nodded his agreement. There would be hell to pay a hundred times over. Abyss took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment to clear the rage from his mind. "Or you could get settled in and we can discuss that when ever you are ready." his knuckles were turning purple from being squeezed into tight fists. he obviously wanted blood, but it could wait seeing as she was safe before him.
Abyss wouldn't be letting Syn out of his sigt for awhile, she would have an adamant watchdog for quite some time unless she forced him not to...she shouldn't be able to boss him around, but all it took was one little whisper.
Jupiter walked over to the chauffeur and grabbed the bags from him. " anything else in the car?" He spoke to the little man gruffly. Could it be that she simply went on a vacation, got healed somewhere and took a break, it sounded reasonable to him.
Isabel’s statement brought Syn back from her nightmarish daydream. Her gaze directed to her dearest friend and a smile accompanied with a nod was issued in acceptance. “I have no doubt about that my dear Isabel, but for now I think I would like to get settled back in first. I’ll be sure to talk with you guys about things later.” Syn paused for a moment. Her closest friend and her brother were exactly the ones she wanted…no needed to talk with. “I promise we’ll sit down and talk more. I’m glad all of you came to greet me.” For Syn to say something like that was very uncharacteristic of her, however she was speaking the utter truth at this point.
Of course Syn would want to get settled back in. Few things were as welcoming as one's own bed and a familiar atmosphere after being away for so long. Isabel felt a little silly for not thinking of it sooner. They probably should have offered to let Syn find somewhere comfortable to settle in before trying any sort of questioning. Though she supposed the collective excitement over the young woman's appearance could be enough to negate any necessity for apologies and forgiveness.
She finally managed to make herself wander a little it close to the redheaded young woman, her initial shock having faded somewhat and the wariness of being trodden on or triggering something in the Red Giants having all but disappeared. "Pretty sure no one's touched your room, if you wanna go there. Or the Cafeteria or something if you're hungry."
