The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Theres been something I’ve been noticing on the site that has been itching at the back of my head for a while. I know that we all love to use cool artwork if they look exactly like our characte but do you think we can start giving the artists credit? Like if it’s an actually picture you find from deviant art or the like could we start giving the artist credit for the piece?
It’s different with photos of actors or models or the like because they don’t’ exactly care where you put their pictures. But it is different for a piece of artwork because they worked for who knows how long on it and for us using it and not giving the credit just makes it sorta not cool. We give credits for those who make our signatures so why not give credits for the artists that drew the characters in the first place?
Not a bad idea. I know some people, who don't have room in the signature for a single extra character, do give credit to the models of deviantart when they use them, sometimes linking directly to their pages. It's something maybe we could all get into the habit of doing. Thanks for bringing this up Emmy!
Oh, good idea. *goes to slip credits into the links section at the top of her profiles, since she's one of those people who literally couldn't fit them in the signature area*
Well, there is usually almost always a website, I'm just saying to say ethier near the sig or elsewhere to say that the art doesn't belong to you and a link of where you found it.
Could we maybe do a seperate list? Like not a "faceclaim" List but a list that has our characters names and if they have art in the sig, the arts link right next to it. THat way we won't have to put it directly on our profiles but it still shows somewhere that we are giving the artist credit.
Character Name-Artwork Link-Artist name if we have it
If you're asking for the Mods to do this list: that would be a pain to keep updated, and there's not really a need for it nor any site rules/policies backing it. It's much easier to let individual users handle such things on their own time, if they care to.
If you're asking for individual permission to run with this idea: go for it, Em. No one is stopping you. It just isn't likely to get New Members link billing.
Hrm, I suppose you are right on that one Calley. But I did hear of not an incident but a thing recently where someone wanted to use a faceclaim by another member and that didn't work out too well.
Maybe we should do a faceclaim list? Or do we already have one that I have just missing it, that may make it easier for new members to pick a faceclaim or actor without overlapping someone elses.
