The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

January. Was cold. At least most of the time. Except right now.
It was one of those weird days that was all too common this winter, and Tarin had decided that it was all the excuse needed to get outside and soak up some vitamin D. Unseasonably warm days had a tendency to bring good things for the Medium, and he wanted to try and share the wealth. At least with Lee and Kevin.
His wife had insisted on bundling the baby up, even though it was almost sixty degrees outside, but Tarin had only argued a little bit. It was a small battle to lose in order to win the much larger war. The baby didn’t mind anyway...he was used to getting trussed up to go outside.
Settling for a black jacket, Tarin slung the diaper bag over his shoulder, eager for the day when that activity would be but a memory and called back into the apartment. ”Lee! If you take any longer it’s going to be night. Just because it feels like spring doesn’t mean the sun is going to set any later.”
Yeah, he was ready to go. Somehow playing in the park with your kid made you forget about all the shitty things in life.
It was a warm day. Well, a warm day for January. And so Tarin thought that they should go to the park. And, while Lee did think that it would be a good idea to get Kevin out and get some exercise. Or play.
Though, apparently Lee had a different idea on how to get ready for the day, and how to dress Kevin.
"What are you talking about?" Lee called from Kevin's room as she finished zipping him up. "We've still got lots of time." Plus, she reasoned as she stepped out of the room a minute later, all she had left to do now was throw on her own coat and shoes.

Lee had a point. It was still early in the afternoon, but he wanted to be outside. In the sun. At the park. Sure all Kevin could do at this point was sit in one of the baby swings and go down the slide if someone moved him, but it was still fun.
Tarin was about to protest again, when Lee emerged with the baby squirming in his winter clothes.
All she needed were her coat and shoes so Tarin moved forward to take the baby. They wouldn’t need the stroller for this walk.
”I’ll take him.” he said with a grin, doing so and waiting for Lee.
Despite his complaining, Tarin definitely looked in a good mood, grinning as he stepped toward her and saying he would their son. Handing the boy over, Lee reached for her coat, followed by shoes. But not heels, those wouldn't work very well at the park, most likely.
"So are my guys ready to go?" Lee asked, stepping up to give each of them a quick kiss.

"Ready and rarin!" Tarin said, exaggerating each word as Lee approached and returning her kiss with quick vigor.
And out they went, into the hall, to the elevator, and down to the main level of their nice apartment. It was sunny outside still, and despite his protests, only a little bit into what could be called 'early afternoon.'
The unseasonably warm weather was still a shock though, and as the leafless trees swayed in the warm breeze, Tarin couldn't help but wonder if it all meant something.
The spirits weren't out in force today, but as always their presence was palpable. New York was a large city. More and more often though, Tarin found himself able to ignore their presence unless he was looking for them. Maybe word had gotten around finally, or maybe he was just getting better at what he did. At any rate, it made life easier.
There were lots of parks in New York, and after a short hike, the little family found themselves opening a small wrought-iron gate and approaching the play equipment. Smiling at his wife, Tarin asked.
