The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"You know... I think..." Here was hoping Sveta didn't take this the wrong way. "That you should ask him out." She frowned frankly. "He needs a good girlfriend, after his last one. He's just never been the same..."
Damn. That had came out insanely blunt. And she didn't even care!
"I know, right?" Amelia replied. "Funny thing, that. Living with a person usually comes after dating them. Things are happening in the wrong order."
Things were happening in the wrong order, and... it was her fault. She'd been the one who'd set Sveta up with Aurum. She'd been the one who'd arranged the living arrangements. She was the one suggesting Sveta date Aurum now. And...
"I just thought you two would hit it off quicker, or he'd make the first move." She shrugged. "Guess I was wrong?"
Aurum, not making the first move? Who would have bet? Her, probably. No, definitely. Darn older brothers, never doing what they're subtly not-quite-told.
>>"I know, right? Funny thing, that. Living with a person usually comes after dating them. Things are happening in the wrong order. I just thought you two would hit it off quicker, or he'd make the first move. Guess I was wrong?"
Sveta was still several steps behind.
"Wha..." she was in the process of blushing now "You want me to date your brother?!..."
That was a new scenario. So far she had had a mother buying her for her son... among other things... but Ami? This was treason, plain and simple.
"That would be awkward!" she said, because she could find nothing better to say "And he is not interested anyway."

>>"How can you be so certain? Assumptions are dangerous. Independent verification is key. You should ask."
This was getting ridiculous. A little sister playing matchmaker? Sveta paused for a moment and really, really hoped this was not what the Matchmaker was teaching Bo to do right now. Because that would earn the old woman a kick in the face. With heels.
"Um... I am not sure I want to." she muttered, looking away. Aurum was nice and everything, but... well, Aurum was nice and everything.

"Why not?" Amelia asked. "What is wrong with my brother?"
Was she coming off offended, now? Was Sveta coming off upset? Embarrassed? Shocked? Confused? She couldn't tell.
This was kind of an awkward topic, sure, but you know what? She did not care. Because. She was playing matchmaker. And if Sveta hadn't thought about any of this, it was her privilege, nay, her duty, to make Sveta think.
"Nothing!" Sveta sighed "Nothing, he's nice. And fun. And he really is great, letting me stay here and all. But I am not sure if I want to date him at all, and I don't think I should ask unless I mean it..."
That was called being honest.

>>"Yeah, bro. I was just. Telling Sveta about how I'm currently dating Gawain and Maya. Okay? You can go back to your cooking now."
Sveta blinked. Whut? Ami was dating two people?... A girl and a boy?... What?!...
Aurum was quickly sent back into the kitchen. Sveta sighed, and gave Ami a look. Did she really have to make this awkward? She had been doing so well so far, living with Aurum without any complications.
"Wait... did he say something about me?..."

Amelia looked at Sveta, considering. After a moment, she decided.
"Would it change anything if he did?"
She wasn't lying. She wasn't like, this huge liar, or something. It was just a slick question to get at the truth. What Sveta did with it was up to her.
Yeah. It would make things an awful lot more awkward.
"I think it would..." she nodded hesitantly "I mean, he is really nice, but he never gave any sign. But if he wnts something... well, it might be time to move out of his apartment anyway."
Aviding awkward. The best thing one can do.
